Common Coffee

We ordered the Leeks and Dutch Carrots toasts which are scrumptious and beautifully made! Their coffee is super. The staff are friendly and efficient. It’s a hidden gem in the area. Will definitely go back again. Tks!

I write a lot reviews on cafes (I am currently top 10% out of all review writers), and I only give 5 star reviews when they nail every single aspect I can think of. I used to visit this cafe more often when I used to live in Epping, and it is very nice to spend sometime here again with a friend.

I will review this cafe in details from the following aspects:
1. The coffee itself. I ordered a latte for $4, which is a rarely low price nowadays and I think we Sydneysiders can all agree on this page. My lattes always come with cute latte art and smooth froth, and the amount of froth is always right for a latte. The taste of their coffee is well balanced too, beans and milk work with each other instead of one overpowering another. The temp of their coffee is also right on the point, hot enough to enjoy straight and the taste of milk is still fresh. They also served dine in coffees with a cute little white ceramic cup, which is great since I personally have a fetish for white ceramic cups lol.
2. The environment. Very simple yet aesthetically pleasant interior design and deco, which gives me Muji vibe but more chill. They have a florist taking care of the vases, I have taken a photo. The only thing I would mention is their bathroom is a bit in the back, small, but tidy and clean.
3. Friendliness. I started going to this cafe almost 2 years ago, and the boys working here always make me feel comfy, it’s like having coffee with mates. What I mean is they don’t just greet you and stuff, they bing you water without you having to ask, and they treat customers like mates which is really nice and rare in Sydney.
4.foods. Their menu is always short but their foods come with unique flavours that make me want to visit again. I cannot describe foods well since I cannot write with my taste buds, but I personally recommend their toasties to all my friends.

Overall, I would like to give more stars but google allows only 5 lol.

I just moved to Epping and decided to explore the local cafes. They have a very short menu. I chose Dutch today. Turned out to be Dutch carrots roasted 🤭 they cooked it well though. The sour dough was balanced with walnuts and honey, and the carrots were soft and sweet. The staff seem to know lots of the local customers. I felt there is some kind of community going on here 😀 good atmosphere.

Dropped in for a quick coffee. Friendly smile and an excellent brew means I’ll be back! Def recommend 👍🏾

Welcomed me in a charismatic and warm way for the cold, rainy autumn day it was. They were clearly passionate about what they do.

Ambiance was calm and spacious, private yet open and contemporary.

I was pleased to find single origin batch brew filter coffee prepared consistently and with the care needed for the beautiful expression of market lane coffee.

I enjoyed 2 cups of "Golocha , kochere Ethiopian natural process" filter coffee

And a vegan "naked bakery" gf slice was the perfect accompanying petit four 😍

The food available is vegetarian and vegan optional.
Roasted leeks on toast = vegan = bloody delicious 🤤
Dutch carrots on toast = vegetarian/ vegan (no honey)
Avo on toast = vegetarian/ vegan (no goats cheese)

Shame I live 2 hours away however worth the train trip from Newcastle.

I do not have enough stars in google to pour them more. The Best cafe in Epping for a wonderful coffee and delicious toasts. Avo/carrot toast with Home made Green sauce is a must to try !! Thank you Boys !!!

Just had breakfast here this morning, and definitely love it. The moment I walked in the shop, I already knew I would love the experience here. There was the vibe that you do not get from a lot of coffee shop, especially around this area.

Talked to the boys and they totally are professionals in what they are doing. The coffee taste perfect. I had a cold brew and it smelled great and tasted flavorful. U can feel the complexity in the flavor it deliver. The toast is great as well, with the right amount of everything for a great breakfast.

Overall 5/5 and definitely come back. It’s great to see something this great finally makes it to Epping.

Great coffees.

Consistent and fast. Definitely the go to for specialty coffee on this side of Epping station.

Staff are friendly. Good place to do some work from your laptop or quick meeting. Only wished the food menu had more on it!

Tried Kimchi and pumpkin toasties. Absolutely fantastic food, reasonable price and friendly customer service. Really enjoy the time here.

I love common’s coffee! They’re the best baristas in the area and offer oat, almond and soy milks! My fave part of the week is when they offer short stop donuts on Friday & Saturday’s!

This minimalist cafe in Epping has such a nice vibe. It’s the perfect spot to catch-up with a friend or spend the morning reading a book in one of the coffee shop’s corners. The coffee is always on point and the lovely baristas who work here are absolutely wonderful. Love coming here.

I absolutely love this place. Living in Epping, I really hoped for a cafe that I would crave to go to close to home, especially when the lockdown affected a lot of what we could do. So, this small cafe not only ticked that box, but every box that I wanted from a cafe.
I never tire of going and bringing friends to this place. Minimalistic and clean, it gives me a place for self-care. The gentlemen who own it, welcome you and help to set the tone of the experience (relaxed).The food and drinks feel nourishing, no matter what you choose.
The menu is also minimalistic, but every item is perfect! My favourite is the Summer Toast or the brownie. Would happily eat Summer Toast every day!

I go here every Monday morning for a coffee. They have great coffee!
The guys are really lovely and it has such a nice quiet, warm and comforting environment to sit and do work. This cafe is really good and I highly recommend.
