Cavalier Specialty Coffee (Cavalier 1.0)

I recently visited Cavalier and I have to say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. As soon as I walked in, the coffee was being brewed and the selection of specialty options was impressive.

While the cafe may appear small, it only added to the charm and intimate atmosphere. The batch coffee I ordered was sensational, and it was clear that the baristas put in great care and attention to the brewing process, resulting in a rich and complex flavor that left me thoroughly satisfied.

The pastries were equally exceptional and complemented my coffee perfectly. The warm, flaky texture of the pastry combined with the perfectly brewed coffee was a match made in heaven.

What really stood out to me was the quality of the service. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about their products. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions I had.

Overall, Cavalier is a must-visit for coffee and pastry enthusiasts. The quality of the products and the service is truly outstanding, and I would definitely make this my go-to cafe if I lived locally. I highly recommend stopping by and experiencing it for yourself.

This shop is a hidden gem!!! It is a place serving fine dining quality food and drinks in takeaway style. It offers specialty coffees from different roasters and rotates its batches, cold brew and single origin coffee very often. It is such a blessing for people like me who like to try different coffee processes, origins and cultivars.

The espresso machine they use is Synesso, incredibly versatile and manual for dialing espressos. It is very impressive that every single dose is weighted and different single origins use different brewing programs. The barista is so dedicated to serve good coffee like nowhere else.

Food is incredible here!!!!!!! Despite the look of the pastries and savory offers is usual, the quality is exceptional! The pastries and bread are picked up from Maggio’s in Cammeray daily in the morning. Another blessing for me that it saves my trip to Maggio’s or UberEats fee. The chef makes the sauces and slices free range ham and imported cheeses in house. I think that is one of the reasons why their ham and cheese croissant and cheeky jaffle are ridiculously delicious. The chef used to work in fine dining restaurants, so he has very high standard for quality control. I once saw they vacuum sealing the cheese after slicing. With the quality of food and drinks it offers, the cost and price ratio is so so so much higher than most cafes. It’s no doubt a bargain having food and drinks here.

There is one little problem with their drink offers: NO syrups. But I understand, as a barista myself, when the coffee is so good, syrups are a bit redundant. Although the Cheeky Jaffle and Gucci Toasties are too good to miss out, the waiting time for these two are about 10 mins, so I don’t get them when in a rush but grabbing gourmet sandwiches, another sensational offer they have in house.

Phenomenal coffee and service. We went here numerous times over a 10-day stay in StLeonards. The pastries were absolutely amazing. The flat whites were great…strong, not too milky. They are open every day. Only 2 tables to sit, so be prepared to take away if it is busy. They have a bowl of water for our 4-legged friends.

Some of the best service I have received! Great coffee and the very friendly staff got our coffee made really quickly too. We also were given 2 blueberry muffins free of charge which was extremely generous and they were delicious!

A cozy little gem, must visit for the best coffee in town. Toasties and pastries have an Italian feel, very decadent and full of flavor. I ordered the bolognese toastie and honestly have never had a bolognese that tasted so good. Then I just had to grab a Sfogliatelle pastry for dessert which was filled with lemon zest ricotta. Wow! The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable! Will definitely be back :)

Professional staff who know their coffee, from origins to roasters to cup, great to chat with. Batch brews are always fresh, as too the sandwiches and other food items. There is a reason this place has higher prices and it's because they nail it. Service, quality, even the vibe, everything.

A really nice small cafe. Not cheap, that's true, but it's worth. A coffee and a sandwich for over $20. Sandwiches are really well made, fresh ingredients and you can't find similar in nearby cafes. Coffee is really good too.

What I really like about Cavalier is that they seem to focus on take out, there's only a few uncomfortable seats outside, so this cafe is the best option for those who are in a hurry and want a good coffee and a good sandwich without waiting too long, which happens in other cafes that serve at the table.

Hands down the best coffee in Sydney. Yummy pastries (cherry danish yea please!) and the jaffles are better than the ones mum makes. Staff are hard working and always friendly, they know everyone by name and are always welcoming.

The lovely team are always so friendly too. They always have an amazing selection of fresh sandwiches and pastries. They used to make a killer salad too, I say bring back the chicken salad!!

My absolute favourite on the lower north shore. The quality of their ingredients is like nothing else I’ve experienced in Sydney.
All in all their coffees, pastries and sandwiches are unbeatable for flavour, freshness and quality and worth every cent and some.

To the review below, McDonalds is around the corner if you want a cheap breakfast.

I had the most amazing experience and need to share. Not only was the food to absolute perfection, the coffee paired with it was indeed the best coffee I've ever had. This little gem of a place is a MUST go to and will be your favourite very quickly!

Cavaliers coffee is perfection. They have an exciting menu filled with tasty treats made with quality ingredients. The friendly knowledgeable staff made us feel right at home and the Cafe has a great atmosphere. I couldn't recommend a visit here more - 11/10!

Best coffee in Crows Nest! We have been frequenting Cavalier as our local for 4 years now. The coffee is always consistent and the sandwiches are delicious. Georgia, Sarah and Harry are so lovely and warm and make us feel like a part of the family. 10/10 recommend.
