Milkbar & grill Newtown

I've had a great experience so far whenever I visit this place. The staff are super friendly and easy to chat with, always bubbly. They take their time to explain a menu item with you if you're curious about it, which I found very generous.

Both times I've came, I brought a book with me and there were a few tables around me with people reading their own books! I don't know if that's a common thing to see in Newtown but I loved seeing that.

We always drop in to the Milk Bar when we visit Dendy. The Turkish Hot Chocolate has rose flavouring in it - nice! The main courses are always perfectly presented and delicious. Try the chicken and mushroom pesto pasta or the grilled salmon and broccolini with cauliflower puree - wonderful! The room is spacious, with views out onto King Street and its river of busyness and characters. Open late for cakes and dessert too. One of our favourites!

One of the only places in Sydney that I know of that serves coffee and milkshakes up to 9pm at night which makes it a bit of a novelty. The soup of the day and toast is always nice and is great when you want the feel of home-cooking. Atmosphere is comfortable and warm, staff are friendly. Recommend visiting :)

Great selection of food and desserts here. Staff is very friendly and helpful and the location has an old school charm to it.
I've been here quite a few times and only recently started coming here also with my daughters. The staff are amazing with them and are a real asset to the establishment.
Looking forward to coming here for many more years.

Love the atmosphere and low lighting. Having it close late is also a huge bonus! Love coming here before a night out. The coffee is also great and they have a large selection of meals which I'm eager to try

Do you want a beautiful mix of traditional Newtown flavour with fabulous service and a simple cafe menu. Add some gin and tonic and drinks to it and you have the iconic "Milk Bar". Very convenient for meetings and also if you are on to Dendy Cinema next

I had the home blend Müsli and it was delicious. The portion could have been a bit bigger, though. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Great coffee and food, love how it closes late. One of the few places in Newtown that has nice outdoor seating.
