Tany's Japanese Restaurant

Was at Tany’s Saturday night 18:30 (24/2/24) and the food and atmosphere was great as always, but I want to say more importantly how the waitress serving us was working by herself with all the tables full at one point and she was outstanding, never looked stressed, served everyone so kindly and took care of everyone! I think people that work so damn hard like this, in this city always deserve to know that they’re amazing and doing a really good job. Arigato

Low in price and high in quality. Fantastic authentic Japanese food and drinks with friendly and fast service. There’s an extensive menu with a diverse range of options catering for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters. Expect sushi, udon, wagyu, curries, sashimi, gyoza and some very tasty bento box options. There is a selection of Japanese beers (the matcha IPA comes highly recommended), sake and local wines, as well as a few delicious Japanese desert dishes. Tanya has become one of my favourite restaurants in the area!

One of the best Japanese restaraunts I’ve been to recently, incredible braised pork belly and the miso was beautiful, a lot more ingredients than miso you usually get. This miso had a few vegetables in it and it was obviously the house miso blend instead of the standard miso you usually come across. Udon noodles were terrific as well, even the salad with the main was delicious with lots of complexities of flavour. Also they gave us incredibly large water glasses which I adore because I often run out of water far too quick. Enjoyed it all with some hot sake

Arrived here on Valentine's Day. No booking. Tanys gave us a table without a fuss. We ate great Japanese food, served quickly, and tasted great. Couldn't ask for more.

Awesome casual Japanese restaurant directly opposite my Redfern Airbnb. We ordered a variety of dishes as a dinner for three and we were not disappointed. Great spot, highly recommended.

The food was amazing and had great value, was blown away by the great serving sizes. All in all, 10/10 would definitely eat here again!

Really good! Ordered the prawn dumplings and a sushi roll and everything was nice. Dumplings crispy and savoury, sushi with fresh salmon (not a fan of mayo in my sushi but still really good) and everything well portioned, very good value, would definitely come back.

Best Japanese food around Redfern and surrounding suburbs. Will eat here again.

By far the tastiest Japanese I have had in so long. The spicy raw tuna was next level creamy and delicious and so was the Kakune Pork - yum yum! Can’t wait to go there again and try the rest of the menu. Also Reo the waiter is lovely and he took charge of our Sake tasting, thanks to a great restaurant.

Delicious food. Great for small groups of 10ish also. I look forward to coming back here.

Great little Japanese restaurant in Redfern. Good sized portions, fresh seafood. I recommend anything off the menu. Pre booking needed Friday and Saturday nights.

Quality and value for money are exceptional at this local place.

Walked past and found a number of people eating inside. Wow, very surprised with the quality of the food and timely service of the food coming out. Portions were generous, favouring was good and their menu had images of most of their dishes. Would definitely be back.

So nice to go to a Japanese restaurant owned and staffed by genuine Japanese people . Had my usual large sashimi plus a yummy miso soup which cost me 30cents with the $25 Government Voucher . It was full at 12.15pm , so very popular place .
