Excellent dim sum, maybe the best I've ever had. The tripe was tender but a bit too thick for my taste. My wife and her sister loved it though. All the shrimp dishes were fantastic, especially the eggplant stuffed with shrimp and tofu. The setting was a bit crowded and cramped. However, we were served almost immediately upon sitting down.

Thank you so much to Jayden and the staff at Palace Chinese Restaurant. The wedding reception planning process was made very easy by the manager Jayden whom helped us conduct the night well. Although there was last minute changes, the staff were able to adapt quickly and be so patient with us. All our guests enjoyed the wedding banquet menu and had a great time!

food is good! jia leong (not sure how to spell it sorry) is so good, cheung fan, all the steamed dumplings and bao, siu mai, dan tart (egg tarts) are incredible if you get them fresh from the oven, the turtle pineapple buns (complete with real pineapples lol), swan taro nest (the name escapes me), char siu sou, the beef balls, bean curd roll things are all so good… service is authentic lol, i can understand why people have complained about the way they push their fares, that’s just how yum cha is, part of the experience! also if you can’t find a dish you want you can just ask for it and they’ll remember to bring it to you.

Typical yumcha atmosphere with various food carts moving around the restaurant.

So many tasty dumplings, BBQ Pork, Chinese vegetables and treats to choose from.

Seemed slightly expensive for what we were charged for what we ate ($117 for two people + tea)

Worth the visit however

I thoroughly enjoyed the yum cha experience at Palace Restaurant on Castlereagh Street, Sydney. Having visited multiple times, the quick and consistent service stood out. The prompt arrival of each trolley ensured we never had to wait long. The efficient service for drinks, especially the quick replenishment of sauces, including chili, added to the positive dining experience. Clean toilets and a pleasant atmosphere on a Saturday morning made the visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Palace Restaurant for a delightful yum cha experience.

One of the best Yum Cha options in Sydney still offering trolley services. The quality of the dumplings is excellent; the staff are great, & they do their best to arrange for the dumplings you want.

My tips:
1. Don’t order the Kai Lan (Chinese Broccoli) from the Yum Cha menu; instead, order from the A la Carte menu & get the one with garlic sauce - better vegetable quality & the TASTE!! 😋
2. Top recommended Yumcha dishes:
- Steamed Garlic Chives & Prawns
- Steamed Pork Bean Curd Rolls
- Rice Noodle stuffed w Chinese Bread Roll
- Sesame Prawn Rolls
- Baked BBQ Pork Puffs
I wasn’t quick enough to get photos of everything so this is all I managed!

I absolutely loved the food here. Special thanks to Jason who was waitressing our table. Jason really impressed us as he was multitasking multiple tables and honestly did an incredible job for the busy atmosphere it was. Well done. Also the ladies going around with the trolleys were super friendly. The main manager in the suite needs to ease up abit he seemed abit tense and needs to smile more 😋 overall good experience for a busy place.

Regarded as one of the top Yum Cha Chinese Restaurants in all Sydney. Can definitely see why. Had a chance to meet the chefs who are traditionally trained in the art of Dim Sum.

Do yourself a favour and get a table by going early around 10:30am. Otherwise you are more than welcome to wait ages for a table during rush hour.

Service is great, and the food is even better.

Sue, Alyona, Niall and I were blown away by the meals we had at the Palace Chinese restaurant. It was almost like a Sushi train but with the Waitresses delivering loads of interesting and tasty morsels by trolley. We have never been in a Chinese restaurant like this and it's no wonder we received so many reviews before attending this restaurant.😊

Don’t trust the negative reviews - the service is very typical yum-cha style. Just be assertive, say no to dishes you don’t want and be thankful for the fast service.

The food is all very yummy and they have a good selection.

Was lucky enough to have Palace Chinese Restaurant host my wedding. Everything from the planning, the cost, the service, the food, the parking, was excellent and the night flowed smoothly. I need to particularly mention Jayden, the restaurant manager who patiently communicated with us throughout the last 10 months, answered all our questions and was able to accommodate all our requests. There was nothing they couldn't do. They had a projector for us for photos and speeches, and enough microphone and speakers, and the sound quality was great.
Overall, I really recommend this restaurant for great food and service.

This place is a gem for great Chinese food to the discerning palate. Had Har gow, Siew Mai, duck, bean curd, French beans and roast pork. Every dish is exquisitely tantalizing to the palate. They deserve a 5 for food and no less. Perhaps those lesser stars are people unfamiliar with Chinese food.

Great range of dim sums and you can tell a quality yum cha restaurant by how well they make the prawn dumplings “har kow” and this place did a very good job. Go for the prawn dumpling with salted egg, it’s delish! (Each serving actually comes with 4 pieces.)

Satisfying and delicious yum cha in Sydney CBD. Good service and friendly staff. Sure to return and try every dish on menu! Love the push carts and trays of yum cha varieties! Pricing about $35+ per pax. Totally worth it.

One of the best yum cha places in Sydney! Service is great along with the best yum cha in the city.

They have the usual yum cha dishes such as Siu Mai, har gow, bbq pork bun, Cheong fun and chicken feet. All were very tasty and piping hot when served to us.

Will definitely be back again for yum cha when I get the cravings for yum cha. Reasonably priced too was about $45 between 7 of us.

Visited "The Palace" for a mate's birthday. Walking through, passing table after table, I could feel that second stomach of mine slowly start to grow, squeezing to the side my liver and intestines, anticipating a meal that would fill it, occupt all the new space it had created in my body.
Q: Did the second stomach get filled?
A: It sure did. It, sure, sure, did!!
