Discovered Happy Chef at Haymarket thanks to TikTok buzz, and it lived up to the hype! Tried the beef tripe and tendon dry noodle and it was AMAZING. Generous portions, saucy, and bursting with flavor. The picture says it all! Loved the option to choose noodle type. Can't wait to explore more of their menu. Apparently their laksa are a must try too! Overall, a fantastic experience!

The chef's here certainly must be very happy as this is one of the best noodle places in all of Sydney! The dry combination noodles is my go to. The noodles are cooked perfectly the toppings used are all fresh and delicious. The sauce combines everything together nicely. Such great value for money can be had here! The laska is also great - adequately spicy and creamy! The food hall in my opinion adds to the "street" like atmosphere. A must try if in the area. Certainly a hidden gem!

Best laksa my wife and I have ever had! Absolutely love this place! Super reasonable prices and only $1 more for 4 giant wontons! What a deal! We have dreams of this place and wish we could come back all the time, but sadly live in Chicago. It was also extremely fast service! Super crowded and shocking how food this good is found in a food court!

I'm really a big fan of egg noodles especially if it is flat! It is extra springy and gives you that character which absorbs and carries the sauce with every mouthful!

This is a perfect match with happy_chef_sussex 's #37. It has a mixture of flavoursome beef tripe, brisket and wonton. You can also get other types of noodles (rice noodles/thinner egg noodles) too but I think this is likely to be the most ideal one for dry noodles. It is a bit similar to mazesoba but with the sauce of the tripe and brisket. Personally I found the sauce was a little too much so I sprinkled some of the clear soup to dilute and mix the noodles. Other than that I love the tripe and brisket - they are one of my favourite food!

The bowl is $18, which is a decent price for noodles nowadays. The portion is very generous and I think the taste matches the price tag. Coming from an asian background, I found this relatively authentic and I enjoyed it very much.

No hesitation in returning and in fact, I am going to take my parents there as I think they will appreciate it!

Located in cafeteria if the mall. I ordered seafood wonton noodle, with fresh rice noodle. Very tasty! The soup was my favorite taste. There are a lot of toppings as well. Highly recommend!

The best bowl of noodle soup in Sydney. Been eating here for the past 24 years and they never disappoint.

I had the opportunity to try #23 and #37 (photo) during my trip to Sydney. I love a good combination of beef offals and the serving is always very generous!

#23 the curry laksa soup version was okay - I thought the laksa broth lacked punch. I hoped the broth was creamier and spicier.

#37 is a winner! It is the dry noodle version. The balance of spice and flavours was perfect.

I did not rank atmosphere too highly, noting this may be out of scope for the stall as it is located in the food court. The food court can get very crowded during peak periods, which isn't surprising, but can be a tad stressful to navigate through.

I rarely give 5-stars. But after stumbling across other reviews and ending up at this restaurant, I see why the ratings warranted. Seems like the restaurant is known for its laksa. They have different varieties of them. We got a tofu one, and a fish cake/fish balls/wonton one. We were not disappointed. Even their chilli oil and satay sauce were delicious! Their laksa had more of a coconut milk flavour than most, which I'm thinking adds that unique flavour. They gave us large portions, with the option to choose different types of noodles. It's situated in a food court, and seating may be hard to come by at times

We came here because of the very good reviews and were not disappointed! Very good taste of the spicy beef & chicken laksa.
The service was nice and helpful and the food was ready in 3 minutes.
The atmosphere isn’t great, but didn’t expect much from a food hall.

Though it is only a small shop in a mall, it delivers diverse noodle soups in a few different cuisines.

Normally it will be a red flag for a shop offering too many types of dishes. But it is not the case for Happy Chef Noodle Restaurant. The soup is well balanced - both laksa base or clear soup base. Vegetables are fresh and crunchy. Beef is really tender. Pork organs are on point and no bad smell.

I revisited the place after two years but the deliciousness is still consistent. We will definitely come back next Sydney trip!

Saw this laksa place on Google and I knew I had to visit because of the high ratings. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was unexpectedly busy, but the service was still very quick and friendly. I had the combination laksa, it was full of flavours and delicious. Recommended!

Visited this place last Friday, was greeted with a smile, and ordering was as just as easy as telling them number 24, please.

Takes card and cash, Self-served sauces, and condiments on the side.

I'm not sure if it was the time of the day, but from order to getting the food was literally under 3-4 minutes, it was so quick that I had to double check to make sure it is mine.

The vegie tofu laksa was good, the soup base texture was creamy, and flavours were rich. I can't really ask for more.

Can't recommend enough! The Laksa was incredible! The broth was super delicious and the toppings were great. I'd probably just go for the char sui pork rather than the combination as this was the best. The Prawns were also very tasty and cooked to perfection.

Also loved that you could add condiments to it at your leasure.

Also very reasonable price - less than $20 for this very filling dish!

Will definitely visit again!
