Cranky Rock Wollombi

We stayed at Cranky rock as we were attending a wedding down the road. The cottage is gorgeous! Handcrafted from the land. Lindsay and Pam were so hospitable, farm fresh eggs for breakfast, and they ensured we got to the wedding and back safely when there were heavy rains.
Couldn’t recommend staying at Cranky Rock highly enough, you must check it out, even an option to camp on their beautiful land.

This private, tranquil and beautiful country side get away has all you’d need and is a labour of love made by the owners with a wonderful back story regarding the Rock and the cottage timbers.
We found our hosts generous, genuine people who made us feel right at home and welcomed.

My partner and I had a great time especially being able to bring our dog along.the scenery is beautiful and the owners are too. We really liked the bush shower It was very refreshing 😊 looking forward to coming back and cooking up another feast in the bush

Went camping at cranky rock last long weekend. The owners were lovely and welcoming. It was quiet and peaceful. Had fire and grateful someone opened their property, not overcrowded, took the dog. Loved it and hope to be back. Thankyou for having us. Our type of camping. Sal and Eric

Great camping location. Large open field with cows, horses and many other wildlife in the area. Thanks you to Pam and Lindsay for letting us stay on their own little piece of paradise. Wollembi tavern just a 5-10 minute drive down the road. Highly recommend and will be back again soon.

A wonderful campsite with a stunning view. Lots of space to spread out a camp site and not feel to cramped in. Clean toilets close by for campers and fire wood available for a small fee. It was a bit of a wet weekend on the farm but Pam and Lindsay did a fantastic job at maintaining the tracks and helping people out when they got stuck in the mud. The hospitality was spectacular. Pam and Lindsay were quick to respond to any issue that might pop up and are extremely accommodating ( Even if you accidentally get stuck in the river crossing). Worth noting there are showers but they are on camp site 1. Highly recommend Cranky Rock Wollombi.

A nice weekend away with no phone service. Lindsay had recently slashed the paddock ready for our groups arrival and even delivered wood for us daily on the back of his ute. He was also good for a yarn telling us about the history of the valley and how cranky rock came to be. Make sure you ask about the origins the cranky rock.

What a great find for a weekend away with the camper. Not far from Newcastle. Didn’t matter that it was June long weekend and they were expecting quite a crowd. The property is large and spacious and delivered an awesome off the grid weekend. The sun shone, sky was blue, green paddocks and stars at night Lindsay topped us up with wood for $20 which saw us through with a lovely fire to keep us snug as the overnight temperatures were low! As expected! The wollombi markets were great on the holiday Monday and only a few minutes drive away. No rush to “checkout” and no extra payment to stay another couple of hours(the difference of not staying in commercial caravan
Parks). Great chatting with owners Pam and Lindsay over the the weekend. Thanks for a great weekend and we will definitely be back

Great campsite split over 5 areas. If you've booked a firepit and fire wood. Don't panic the owners come around and check on everyone in the afternoon. You'll be able to get it delivered to you. They're the perfect hosts. Area is accessible by car.

This is such a beautiful place..so unique and interesting. The house was amazing and with the lovely fireplace and the great outdoor spa was a terrific bonus.
Lindsay and Pam were wonderful hosts. Totally recommend this farm stay.

had the best time relaxing by the fire with friends for a long june weekend.. it felt magical and so peaceful and bonus with no phone reception or internet . the owners were lovely and loved to chat about the place .. we will definitely be back

We stayed at the Cranky Rock Cabin for 3 days and 2 nights. The cabin, the views, and the location are spectacular!! We particularily enjoyed the hot tub, the fireplace, and the rustic relaxed feel. The owners are wonderful and made the experience very enjoyable. We definitely will be back!! ❤🍀

So overly impressed by the quality of the camp grounds and how the owners went above and beyond to keep every camper happy and safe and with all the rain over the long weekend helping to ensure everyone could get out safely. Truly a pleasure to camp at cranky rock and will definitely be going back!

This is a beautiful working property with a very comfortable and unique cottage in the valley just up the road from Wollombi. What a place to stay to unwind from day to day life.

This place is amazing!
It's a cross between a country camp ground and a farm stay.
Nice big paddock areas you can pull up and stake out what you need. Keep an eye on the weather paddocks can be muddy pick your spot with care.
Facilities include, hot shower in a very cool rock, bathroom with running water and light in a cool shack.
It's ok to have a fire but you need to byo fire pit 30cm off the grass. Check when you book if you can hire one and you can arrange fire wood delivery right to your camp!!
The creek crossing on the way was a huge hoot for the kids and not a problem for the Subaru SUV towing a trailer.
The kids got to meet horses, cows, and chickens.
No internet or phone reception so download your maps before you leave.
Wollombi town is great for a visit and not far away.

Great spot! Very quiet and secluded but only a few mins drive to Wollombi. Facilities are basic but very well maintained, the outdoor shower is fantastic!!!
Superb spot to wake up to and watch the sunrise over the hills...

Absolutely stunning and spectacular. One of best camp sites I’ve been.
Amazing view, up close with nature and get to meet some friendly fur friends
