Blackwood River Houseboats

My partner and I just spent 3 glorious nights on (houseboat River) Its the perfect getaway if you're looking to connect with nature and just relax and chill. The houseboat was well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and safe. Thanks to James and Pam for your kind hospitality...highly recommend

Just returned from an absolutely wonderful four days doing very little but reading, swimming and cruising up the Blackwood River in Storm... A very comfortable and easy to skipper houseboat! Huge thanks to Pam and James for providing such an amazing operation.

James was a great host to get us on our way smoothly. Boat was spacious (for our party of 5) and clean with great extras like the kayaks and stand up paddleboards. And the river and moorings are just gorgeous.

If you have an open mind..you ve got plenty to do whilst on the blackwood River.. you just pull up to any of the numbered moorings scattered throughout the river system providing your in a hired blackwood houseboat.. you ve got a number of water activities at your fingertips a dingy to get you around Stup paddle boards for the ones who like a challenge and kayaks for the areas where the big and small boats can t go which are all included with the houseboat package huge thank you to James & Paula for making this Christmas a memorable one on the River.

We spent 3 nights on a weekend in April with Blackwood River Houseboats. Definitely one of our best holidays and the most memorable one! Great for the family bonding by spending days and nights together on the river, isolated from the rest of the world! Pam and James are great hosts and operators, hope to visit again!

Did a week on the Blackwood with BRH in Jan and loved every minute of it. Peaceful, serene and comfortable. Can’t recommend enough.

We spent 3 nights in Dec 2020 on board Houseboat "River".

James was very thorough in his instructions on cruising the river and on the operations of the houseboat.

Our family enjoyed our time on the river, especially being able to jump onto our kayaks and SUPs anytime to explore Blackwood River. Our favourite activity is to sit upstairs in the morning with our coffee and enjoy the stillness of the river.

The houseboat had everything we needed and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Just be aware that on "River" the double bed does not have any privacy so if the adults value their privacy, you may want to consider hiring the larger boats.

Overall we had a great time and would recommend this for anyone who has not tried holidaying on a houseboat.

We had a 3 night stay on Storm in July this year. It was a lovely peaceful venture. We even had a storm one day, but the river is so sheltered that the boat remained calm throughout . If you are looking for a different type of holiday then try a houseboat. It was certainly worth the venture. Managed to get plenty of walks through the bush and even had a chauffeur driven trip to a winery for lunch. We would definitely do this again and recommend it to anyone. We just returned from an amazing 3 nights on board Allira. The facilities on board were adequate for the 6 of us with a well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable with plenty of bedding to keep us warm. Waking up in the morning in the middle of the Blackwood River is something everyone should do - simply breath-taking. Pam and James were excellent! 5 star service! Thank You!

Just spent 3 nights on the Storm. Had two other families join us on the Allira and the River.

Trip was fantastic.

All our kids were able to enjoy nature, get out on the river, swim and kayak, use the SUPs provided and some even got to skipper the dingy.
We were able to just let them loose to explore our surroundings.

The fishing was a bonus and there was plenty of action but as detailed in the information given you have to supply your own gear.

This unique experience was similar to our previous camping trips, just that it was on water, on a well equipped boat.

Facilities were adequate. Not luxurious but more than sufficient.

Some of our older boys were a bit big for the bunks, so I would suggest renting the larger boats for more space and comfort.

All in all this was an experience thoroughly enjoyed and great for families with slightly older kids.

We just spent 3 nights on Allira and Storm with friends. Great weekend. Lots of fun. The river is peaceful & beautiful. The boats were great. We'll definitely be back! Thanks Pam & James.

Augusta is the most charming town we've ever visited in WA. Blackwood River Houseboats was a truly enjoyable holiday for us. Houseboat snug and comfy with all the facilities. Pam and James extremely helpful and welcoming. Lovely trip, lovely people.

You were helpful from first contact and on arrival we were met with your professional but friendly manner.
The houseboat was clean and nicely presented and fully equipped and it was great having both inside and outdoor cooking choice. I usually do as little as necessary when it comes to meals but it was a pleasure cooking outdoors for four hungry men with the million dollar view that I had.
Even the last day with weather overcast and windy, it didn't come near to dampening our enthusiasm. Warm as toast indoors, meals were cooked in the full size stove and we continued to enjoy the scenery through the large viewing windows.
We all had a wonderful time and on behalf of Dennis, Carl, Troy and Tim I thank you, Trish Haley.

If you haven't done it. Do it its amazing. Fantastic people run the business, more then happy to help you. I'll im saying is you only die once, so go book it in an enjoy the Blackwood River House Boat experience. Thank me latter. Cheers happy boating.

A fabulous 3days and nights on the houseboat 'River' on Blackwood River. Excellent service even through the challenge of cancelled holiday due to Covid...management very accommodating.

We spent Christmas 2011 on a houseboat and had the most amazing family holiday! The perfect location and the houseboat was just perfect for our extended christmas tribe!

Awesome time on the Blackwood!!! What a way to spend a holiday than on the river, chilling out with the great local wine and food in my fridge!
