Must visit if you come to see the lighthouse. In spite of the fact that what is left of its calcified remains does not appear to be much of a wheel, it did supply the lighthouse keepers with freshwater in the 1890s.

A very charming spot not to be missed. This is very near to the famous neighbouring lighthouse. Besides the important history of this place to the building of the lighthouse, it has an end-of-the-world feel that leaves a deep lasting impression. It is also extremely photo-worthy.

Stunning views, you can get close to the rocks and the water wheel itself without bumping into another person.

Perfect view for drone. Lighthouse nearby but too crowded and the lighthouse is being repaired.

First time I visited here was back in 1990. Its now a lot nicer, with a great interpretive centre/museum and well presented lighthouse. The water wheel is good to see they have got it still going, and with all this garbage of climate change and sea levels rising, , well, I can say, no changes here, except its greener and the sea is the same level.

If for some reason you skipped the lighthouse tour, it's still a good idea to make a stop by the water wheel, not just to check out the wheel itself but to take a stroll around the rocks and make some friends with a few crabs.

The wheel's been around since the dawn of civilisation in this area, and what is left of its calcified remains doesn't look much of a wheel but it did provide freshwater for the lighthouse keepers back in the 1890s, so there's a bit of history here.

Great spot, near the lighthouse. Great for clambering around and fossicking. Make sure you don't take anything living home and keep an eye on the surf.

It's an 'ancient' water wheel with a lovely view. I'd recommend it... Won't take up a lot of your time, just stop by on your way to the lighthouse...

Historic artifact from Cape Leeuwin lighthouse days and also the official southern starting point of the Cape to Cape walk. Beautiful and also brutally exposed coastal location, carpark nearby and public toilet.

Lovely spot to enjoy sunset. We missed the last visiting slot for the lighthouse and ended up here. Flat rocks perfect for sitting and waiting on sunset.

With a squirt WD40, the Cape Leeuwin water wheel should spin freely again ✅🤪

Fantastic part of WA. Great to see something that was built so long ago still standing today. To look around at the rugged and beautiful scenery gives a sense of awe. Loved it.

I love stumbling across little bits of local history. We only came to explore the rocks and the beach and came across this little treasure.
