We always love it at The Red Velvet Lounge Cygnet. Welcoming, friendly and very popular with locals. Coffee and meals are high quality and Friday nights pizza and live music is a lot of fun.

Hands down, top cafe we’ve been to! Fantastic and friendly service, great coffee/chai/smoothies, and the food was delicious. The pasta and chicken & couscous were up there as the best meals we had on our holiday around Tasmania. :)

A great little cafe with a small menu of quality food. Coffee was great, service fast & friendly. We had lunch - well I had a taster of delicious squares of soft polenta fried gently to a golden brown with a tasty salsa verde & grated parmesan over the top. Stunningly simple &/satisfying as a light meal. My wife went sweet & chose a peanut butter, banana & chocolate tart which sounds odd (to me), but I am assured it was delicious. Plate was emptied quickly! The breakfast menu looked good & the evening pizza selection was also interesting.

We went there for pizza night and honestly it was one of the best pizza I ever had. It is only vegetarian but the mix of products is so creative that you will probably forget it is only vegetables!
The music was very good. And the staff was super nice. It is a little bit overpriced but I still recommend it for the quality of products and the nice atmosphere 😉

Here for the Cygnet Folk Festival 2024. RVL and the Stranded Whalers. Doesn't get much better.

Delicious food in a warm, relaxed and inviting setting. A mix up with my order - which was my fault as I mis-read the menu - was handled with grace, generosity and genuine care. The menu offerings were varied and well rounded, it is wonderful to see a smaller menu where every dish hits the mark rather than many mediocre choices. The confit chicken was a well considered, cohesive dish, expertly executed and perfectly balanced. The excellent service rounded out the meal perfectly.

Came down to Cygnet to run the peninsula. When I had finished I dropped into the Red Velvet Lounge for breakfast. I came a number of years ago and it still has that old-charm that I remember. It really is a great setting. The food was very country as was the service. A highlight of any visit to southern Tasmania.

What a thrill to return here after 6 years. Yum, yum. So love this place. Food, Chai, everything and the decor.

Cute and high ceilings make this a great spot for getting work done. Can connect to some free Tasmania wifi for about 30 minutes in a hotspot here too. Great coffees

Best coffee in the valley. The most ORANGE egg yolks you'll ever see. So delicious. Staff are gorgeous and the vibe is very chill and boho.

Breakfast here is great! A must to come eat here if ur nearby or staying here.

Beautiful atmosphere, delicious oat lattes, really warm service. I got the rigatoni - super tasty and had a great hit of fennel through the sausage. My partner got the lamb - delicious and so well presented. Wish we lived locally so we could go again and again.

Have returned to the Red velvet lounge after many years of absence due to the old Bank restaurant's New breakfast menu to be found totally lacking. I'm a great breakfast lover and I'm overjoyed that Red velvet breakfast are back on track. Couldn't fault their great coffee great service,and delicious food.

We had the pleasure of dining here for an impromptu light lunch. The decor was very appealing. High pressed metal ceilings and ripple glass windows. They used the pressed metal (silver) on the counter as well to great effect. The food showed the chef’s finesse and pride. I had a lemon and garlic labneh with cucumber salsa. It was skilfully presented. Great flavour and taste from fresh ingredients. My wife had aracini balls with aioli and Parmesan. They were delicious too. We finished off with coffee. It was rich, full bodied but balanced. The wait staff were friendly, courteous and unintrusive. Highly recommended.

Another day i had the privilege to stop at a cafe in Cignet. All products are made by hand and with a lot of love. I had a brownie and also tasted a perfect lime tarte. And to drink ask for a flatwhite which was superb. I loved the place and whoever is walking through this place pass here. super recommended!

I hadn't been to this place for quite a while and being in Cygnet last Sunday afternoon thought it'd be a great time to see what's new. For a start the place looked magnificent. A very large space , bright and airy with the look perhaps of a haberdashery store from long ago. A very friendly welcome upon entry. Wonderful coffee. For lunch? So many delicious looking choices but in the end I went for the braised lamb. What a treat. Superbly presented and a taste sensation. Yes I'll be back to try the other dishes another time. Highly recommended!
