O SE O Lidcombe

Probably like many other patrons, came here because the line Yeodongsik was too long. But! Was not disappointed at all! This place is a very humble and homely small Korean restaurant with very authentic flavours and good value for money. Whilst it is largely self-service and it can be a bit noisy, the food more than makes up for it. Probably the first time I got more food than expected.

Ginseng Chicken Soup
Flavour: SS+, 9.5/10. Authentic and delicious. Haven't had many in Sydney but this was pretty close to Korea
Consistency: SS, 9/10. A bit thick from the rice stuffing which was nice
Chicken: S+, 8.5/10. Overall very good though some parts a bit chewy
Value: SS, 9/10. $24 for a whole chicken??!

Sizzling octopus
Flavour: SS+, 9.5/10. Very well balanced chilli, soy and charred flavours. Haven't had a better one yet!
Texture: SS, 9/10. Chewy octopus and soft veg
Value: SS, 9/10. $23 but comes with rice, a small soybean stew and they gave us a small plate of beef bulgogi (which was delicious)

Spicy pork soybean stew
Flavour: A, 7/10. The one let down. Probably an acquired taste, but the soybean in this was very pungent and overwhelming
Consistency: A, 7/10. Quite thick and almost gravy like. Probably more enjoyable if I liked the flavours
Value: A, 7/10. $22 for a very hearty stew

You know it’s authentic Korean food when all the customers are Korean and the staff can’t really speak English…. Amazing food! The jokbal portion was HUGE esp for $55, the plate took up almost half the table. We also loved the chicken feet, side dishes and seafood pancake. The seafood tofu soup recommended to us was a bit too salty and the waitress couldn’t communicate with us but she tried really hard and we definitely enjoyed the overall experience.

• Pork Bone Hang Over Stew 뼈해장국 $22 comes with a bowl of rice
• Kimchi Pancake 김치전 $21
• Buckwheat (Cold) Noodle 물냉면 $18

And they’ll serve you with side dishes they have available at that time.

Note: I don’t usually mix my food. And if you’re like me, you must mix the stew before eating. Otherwise you wouldn’t enjoy it.

Water is self-serve from a dispenser. They don’t have bottles for water.

…but whilst and after eating here, I feel thirsty all the time. (If you know what that means, you know. And if you don’t mind that, you should try their food.) 😉

Big portion of flavorful dishes. A bit slow in service but it’s worth the wait. I would recommend this restaurant if you like to try authentic Korean flavour 😀 We are not Korean but there was no discrimination like others have mentioned. The lady serves us tried her best to help us order. I hope they will have more staffs in the future cause she was alone and seeing her ran (YES, she had to run 🥹) back and forth makes me feel a bit bad for her tbh. We would definitely come back in the future to try their other items in the menu 🤤

Food was extra amazing!!!! Everything we ordered tasted so good. Chicken feet was tasty and spicy, Pork cutlet was Krunchy with just the right amount of flavour, not oily at all.
We ordered a special menu - Stir fried beef Tripe .. ommo ommo ... we asked for extra spicy ... the TASTE! Its out of this world!

Price is also very reasonable! We will definitely be coming back.

I had Budae jjigae( Army stew) with my friend it was pretty good. The soup was thick and deep , we really enjoyed it however just ordered a small size. It is pretty big for two people.

Great value food lots of meat to make me grow big and strong.
The pork hock was succulent like eating a cloud. The ox bone soup here had good flavour too, in some other places it tastes too watery 😭
I enjoyed making the pork belly package and putting the big package in my mouth 😺.

We love their jockbal and spicy tofu seafood soup. They are super delicious!! Street parking is plentiful or there is a car park around the corner that gives a 4hrs free parking.

Highly recommend this restaurant for the quality of food and friendly service 😍

Amazing food!

The side dishes had a very homey taste to it! It was amazing! I loved all of the sides provided.

The meals we ordered were very good! Portions were filling, and the wait time wasn't bad.

Nice homey restaurant with Korean mums and dads going. This is my second time coming and still doesn’t disappoint. Ginseng soup was delicious. Spicy seafood hand chop noodles was also amazing. Seafood pancake was very crispy. I liked their side dishes too. Will definitely be coming back again

It was really lovely place to dine and eat with warm atmosphere. It feels like you are welcomed. Although it was not that big place but gives the vibe and feeling of eating back in country side. Every food I tried was really wonderful even sides were worth visiting.

The portion is full. Seafood pancakes and soup are choices you can’t miss. There is only one waiter. Please wait patiently. Don’t care whether she is smiling or not, because you may be negligent when you are busy. Don’t waste your meal, every meal Portions are quite a lot.

Handmade dumplings are a MUST. Big, fat dumplings bursting with meat and Kimchi filling. The owners are long time chefs and korean mums. 10000% recommend this food. And they give you this tiny bowl of crushed ice with pickled radish, it is heaven.

Immaculate local Korean eatery vibes, very authentic. Affordable and tasty. We had only a few minutes waiting to order and then food came out quickly, no complaints at all!

The most generous restaurant in Lidcombe. I loved coming to this restaurant way before covid for their delicious food with plentiful serving. At the midst of covid, this restaurant continues to make amazingly delicious takeaway food at discounted prices. The taste and quantity of food never changed. Thank you for giving back to the community through your hard work.
