Cannot recommend more highly. Every single wine was beautiful, and the co-owner Skye was able to talk us through each glass’s tasting notes and pairings. A fantastic winery, and a must see. Cannot wait to try their jams!

It's not just that the wines are lovingly crafted and so very enjoyable but Mark and Skye are superb hosts. They provided one of the most welcoming, relaxed and informative tastings we've ever experienced.
They truly embody the spirit of the boutique winery and their passion shows in their product.
I cannot recommend a visit to their cellar door highly enough...

My partner and I stopped in on a Tuesday lunchtime for a tasting on out lap of Australia. Skye was absolutely wonderful, so knowledgeable and friendly. The red wines were delicious and we ended up purchasing a few. Highly recommended!

A must-visit local winery in Clare Valley! The owners have great passion in making wines. My hubby and I had an amazing time at the wine tasting and learned a lot about wine making and the history of Sussex Squire Wines. Mark controls his destiny as he said - he has to like it to make it, produce small - mostly reds. Their wines are available through his cellar door. I like their reds especially the JRS barrel selections. 🍷😋

Wonderful family run winery. They have sheep to keep the weeds at bay, they don't use spray.
They've just opened a tasting room for their flight of wines. You'll be served with a smile by one of the owners. Theyve got a wealth of knowledge of the region and the wines they serve (obviously!).
I really enjoyed the Malbec and the Shiraz.
Definitely worth dropping in.

We arrived after 3pm, closing at 4pm. Still felt very welcomed and got the best, informative service. All wines are incredible. Really enjoyed it and of course got a bottle of a good red wine.

What an amazing cellar door experience! Mark (one of the owners) spent a lot of time with our group of 6 explaining wine-making, the wine they produce (they are known for their red wines), their differences, tasting notes and pairings. We loved the Mataro and grabbed a couple of bottles to take home with us. Highly recommend visiting!

Absolutely fantastic boutique winery and cellar door. Mark the winemaker served, and was a great host with excellent knowledge. They are making really quality structured reds in main and also a popular Riesling that was walking out the door during tasting. Thanks Mark, 5 stars

I didn't think I liked Clare Valley reds. Then I visited Sussex Squire, and this has shot to the top of my list of my favourite cellar doors in SA. Mark was the most incredible cellar door host, taking plenty of time to talk us through his many wonderful wines. If you visit any cellar doors in this region, make sure Sussex Squire is top of your list!!

Not good enough? Then don't bottle it! Another visit, another impressive tasting of great reds. Hopefully Skye will get Mark to make a Rosé one day, but until then their range continues to impress. Every wine is made with thoughtfulness, consideration of fruit, weather, season and above all, quality results. If it's in the bottle, they stand behind their product (which they do when they serve you, only just realised that). Beautiful people, beautiful wine. A yearly destination for my friends and I. What an experience. Not only did we have a fabulous tasting, we had the privilege of being served by the owner and winemaker. Mark's passion for his wine really came through and his reds are spectacular. We couldn't wait to open the 2017 GSM and enjoyed it with bbq lamb cutlets that same night.
