Mount Beauty Gorge Walk Carpark

This is a fantastic place to visit. The walk isn't too strenuous, but very scenic. During summer I'm sure it would an amazing spot for a swim or a family day out. It was winter when we were here but it didn't stop me from getting in the water, and if you want to view right up the gorge, you will have to get a bit wet... But the scenery is well worth it either way. If you need an escape from town or just want somewhere spectacular to visit, I highly recommend this spot.

This is the best spot to start the walk. Nice easy walk, well signed so you can’t get lost, doesn’t take long to get to the swimming spots. We went as far as we could without getting wet. About half way along you have to cross the river a couple of times and scramble over the rocks. Not too difficult if you have good shoes. I imagine the river might flow quite a bit higher in summer though.

Didn’t finish the walk to the canyon because we saw a big black snake on the track. Must be aware of the snakes in warm weather. The view along the walk was not bad though.
