Mount Beauty Gorge Walk

This is a summer activities that you must experience! Here is random thought of stuff that you might need as you need to get wet to see The Canyon! Water shoes and extra clothes or swimwear (life jacket if you can’t swim) 😉
The best part is we meeting new friends while crossing the river! The couple are so lovely and nice ✨

Beautiful gorge walk, swimming holes and recommend scrambling up the river another kilometre or so past the bridge in swimmers and sandals. Great adventure on a sunny day, highly recommended 👌

Nice hiking. Be careful when the river is flowing. It's not possible to reach at the end when there is too much water in the river.

A beautiful hike with great swimming holes at the end. Need to be willing to get your feet wet. Easy for a young family.

Beautiful place once you get there, little trek up hill on the way with moderate steps.

Mount Beauty Gorge Walk has two possible starting points. One is from the visitor information which follows a dirt road and AGL access track before joining the main walking track. The other starting point is from the Mount Beauty Mountain Bike park. Toilet facilities are available from both of these.
This walk is well signposted once you get on the main track and has lots of things to draw your attention along the journey. (Suspension bridge, vertical shaft and picnic table near suspension bridge)
If the river is low enough you will be able to wade across at around the 2km point to extend your walk and add a little extra adventure.

Great swimming area. When the river is low it’s possible to reach the end without getting your feet wet. Nice chilled water, the view from when you swim through the George is the best.

Worth the fairly short walk along the Gorge, as recommended by the lady in the information centre. We were a bit more adventurous on a hot day and spent quite a while walking back along the gorge, rock hopping and rock pool swimming, bathers on, shoes on kind of deal, was challenging with an 8 year old but we got way at we wanted, memories!!
Lots of fun, but be careful of snakes!

Fantastic walk of a few hundred metres before you get to the gorge. Can rock hop all the way to the entrance of the big walls where you swim a few hundred more metres to a swimming spot.

Stunning Gorge in Mount Beauty. Loved the track and scenery, but I think our dog loved it more!

One of the highlights of our trip. Kids loved the walking on rocks experience. Next time we will come prepared with bathers and towel! There is a lovely spot right at the end where you can swim.

Great for family with kids... This 1.5 hour return trip is worth the trip. Take a walk through beautiful stream up to a canyon. You need to cross over the stream a few times and its great fun...

It was such a beautiful walk down to the waters. Absolutely stunning. Running shoes are highly recommended since there are small rocks, also you have to walk through water to get to the beautiful canyon. Water is so clear and absolutely beautiful.

A really gorgeous walk with lots of things to see. Not to far either. The suspension bridge is a lot of fun too.

Very nice walk. The only problem we found was the lack of signs to the start of the walk.

Stunning on a hot day. Keep an eye out to make sure no rain upstream in the catchments and be sure to take water shoes.

Water was SO clean and nice. Water shoes are a must. We were the only ones there. Great adventure for me and my dog!
