The highlight of our trip - fun for all of us (ages 3-40). The train ride was fun and engaging, the views are spectacular but even better was the history of Victoria from millions of years ago to the present, and the tour of the engineering museum with working demonstrations of artefacts from nearly 200 years ago and how they shaped our modern world. Thank you - the whole experience was so inspiring!

Very impressive, I highly recommend you take your family with you on the weekend. They cater for large groups too during the week. Andrew and Jennifer impress with their trained knowledge of the local history and beautiful views of the country on the train journey up to the summit.

Train ride along the hillside with great views, kids loved it, it’s great value for money. It also has the best display of steam engines I’ve seen, with everything in excellent clean working order, and Andrew who has built everything with his wife explains how everything works etc. He also has great knowledge of the history of the area. We shall visit again one day!

A hidden gem and a must visit when in this area. So much to enjoy whether you have an interest in trains, all things engineering, history, local points of interest, stories from the past or beautiful scenery. Andrew, Jennifer and Duncan were great hosts who keenly shared their passion for trains and steam engines and showed interest in all 10 visitors on the day. Kiosk operates if you’re interested.

What an amazing couple, Andrew and Jennifer are! Smiles and a wealth of knowledge between these two lovely hosts. The railway is amazing and the artifacts they have in the museum are superb. Working steam engines will delight every visitor. My only fear is that one visit wont be enough. Definitely put this on your must-do list.

What a truly amazing place. Working steam engines of all sorts and sizes lovingly restored and in immaculate condition. A perfect museum.
And then Douglas, built from scratch and the pride of the exhibits, which steams on special occasions.
Andrew is an amazing mechanical engineer with so much knowledge which must be passed on to future generations.

This place is built on passion and a very interesting place to learn about the steam powered technology and history. The business owners are very knowledgeable about the engineering history of Melbourne and the world in general. The round trip takes about 35 minutes and is a very senic and smooth ride.

couple running the place was very lovely and welcoming. great place to take the kids for a little train ride on a hill with eyecatching views of surrounding area. tour includes a little hystory of early settlements in the area and railways. even if history is not your thing, i can guarentee his humor will keep you entertained.
the couple operating the place is very passionate about trains where a handmade locomotive in the museum is a testemony. all machinery and trains are maintained by them and are quite knowledgable.

Small but well set up museum with some very well restored steam and engine powered equipment. The trip up the hill on the small train is well worth the views alone! Run by a couple of passionate and extremly knowledgable locals.

A place with a lot of history and owners with a lot of knowledge, anyone with an appreciation of where we have come from regarding the industrial age will enjoy a visit here, the train ride was relaxing but and the demonstrations were great, and the engineering is next level

It’s pretty amazing museum plus mountain ride. My son absolutely loved it and so did we. The hosts are out of this world because they did an outstanding job and have real passion for this business. I’m so glad they allow people to enjoy and experience this rail. Very well priced.
