Laurenvale Estate and Blackwood Barn

This venue was amazing! Kathy’s hospitality was incredibly welcoming to our guests, and she made our day come together so nicely. Even with weather changing up on us, she was on top of everything, willing to do as much as she could to make our day special. I highly recommend!!

It was my first visit to Laurenvale Estate and it was a wonderful experience. The grounds and view are absolutely spectacular. Kathy and Paul were friendly, polite, attentive, organised and happy to do anything to help their couples achieve the day of their dreams. I will happily recommend to couples and vendors alike.

We have travelled from England to Australia nearly 11,000 miles to our granddaughters wedding. The organisation and preparation down to the last detail was second to none. The venue is breathtaking from the chandeliers to the table settings and the room decoration's you could not have anything better than this. If you go anywhere else you will be disappointed this is more than five star this is the best ever.

The venue is beautifully appointed. The atmosphere was intimate and enjoyable . The host went out of her way to make sure the reception went to plan without any hiccups.
The food was delicious.
Highly recommend the venue for a wedding.

I had the incredible opportunity to marry a stunning couple at Blackwood Barn and let me tell you, Cathy and Paul & the amazing Georgia have absolutely outdone themselves with this magnificent blend of elegance, rustic charm, and genuine passion.

The barn is adorned with chandeliers that add a touch of opulence, making the entire space glisten like precious diamonds. It may sound peculiar, but the dimmable lights truly make a world of difference in creating the perfect ambiance.

The outdoor areas designed for pre and post-ceremony activities offer a delightful array of choices, allowing you to tailor your experience to your liking. Or have the ceremony too and look like Kings and Queens.
And let me not forget to mention their other property, Laurnevale, which boasts breathtaking views that will leave you in awe.

The future holds even more exciting plans from this remarkable family, who are clearly a force to be reckoned with in the countryside.
Before you make any hasty decisions, I implore you to visit Blackwood Barn. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Absolutely stunning venue. All the guest at our wedding were in awe of the amazing 360 mountain views from Laurenvale Estate! not to mention the incredible Blackwood Barn. We had the best day ever & wouldn’t have done it anywhere else. Absolutely perfect.

We are so glad we chose to have our wedding at the beautiful Laurenvale Estate and Blackwood Barn! The scenery at Laurenvale was picturesque and made the perfect backdrop for our photos after the ceremony. Many of our guests (and vendors!) were impressed with the stunning reception hall of Blackwood Barn and loved hanging out in the canape gardens. The Open Air Chapel with the fairy lights at night is just magical and the cutest place to have our first dance.

Whitewood Cottage just next door to Blackwood Barn was the perfect place for us and our bridal party to stay and get ready for the big day. It was super convenient to be able to just go next door and relax after the wedding!

Kathy and Paul are lovely, friendly and helpful people and are so easy to communicate with. They are really flexible and truly want couples to have the best wedding day. They went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly and played a huge part in making our day the best it could be! We would definitely recommend Scenic Rim Wedding Venues to future couples!

We would like to say a massive thank you to Paul & Kathy for their assistance and guidance to make what turned out to be a perfect wedding with all guests saying it was the best wedding they had attended. Starting with the ceremony at Laurenvale Estate under the newly constructed White Capella surrounded by breathtaking views creating the perfect background for amazing photographic memories. Then preceding to Blackwood Barn for the reception, a spacious dining area lit by incredible chandeliers creating a warm atmosphere for the setting we had envisaged. The first dance performed under the open air chapel was breathtaking creating even more memories in photos. Back inside to continue the party on the mezzanine dance floor. We thoroughly recommend Paul & Kathy they were there every step of the way , they generally love what they do and go above and beyond to make your day perfect. Thank you for making our daughter and son in laws dream day a reality.

The venue and location are stunning and perfectly capture the beauty of the scenic rim. But the venue and location are nothing without the people, Kathy and Paul went above and beyond to make our special day everything we imagined it would be. We can’t recommend them highly enough.

What a night, 2 weeks later and I’m still day dreaming about it.. this barn is everything we dreamt to have a wedding reception in.
It has been renovated with so much love , time and passion.. Everytime we would step inside Blackwood barn we felt at home and at peace.
Our photos from our first dance are insane.. the outdoor chapel is just exceptional!!
There was a great amount of room and space to move around, we had a huge space for dancing and our DJ also with a Photo Booth.
Originally our wedding was for 110 guests our final numbers were 70.
It’s simply just a perfect space with so much variety and freedom for your own little touch. Kathy and Paul Drew you have all our gratitude and we still can’t thank you enough for creating such a sacred space for our dream wedding.

We had the special privilege of being the first wedding held at the new Scenic Rim Wedding Venue (Laurenvale Estate and Blackwood Barn) and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, magical spot to tie the knot, surrounded by our family and friends. The owners, locals, Kathy and Paul, were so helpful and went out of their way to get the venue spik'n'span and ready for our Special Day (and their beautiful daughters!). The Barn is just elegant, with a touch of class, but still has that classic barn feel, with gorgeous chandeliers, wooden barn-style tables, a gorgeous outdoor open air white Capella and a beautiful outdoor area for guests to mingle while they wait for the newly wed couple to arrive. At Laurenvale, there are several spots to pick to say your "I dos", but we picked the spot up top looking out towards the NSW mountain ranges, with the beautiful tree giving us shade and warmth.

Being a DIY venue, it gave us the options to add our own flavour to the set-up and flow of the day/evening. There was a little bit of extra work that goes into doing DIY weddings, and a few logistical arrangements that need to be worked through. But it was all worth it in the end. I think we picked the most special place in the Scenic Rim region to start our Forever Journey! Definitely worth a look into for yours!!

This place was beautiful but the owners are bunch of suck up snobs. They made calls that they should not have. In my whole wedding planing process this place was the most hardest of all the things we had to endure as the owners don't know what they are doing and blame everyone else for their mess ups.
Kathy made calls she had no right to do and made my food venders feel bad. She was also extremely touchie towards our guests and said some things that were out of line and rude towards our guests. The husband was a huge oversharer and nob. I do not recommend this place. As much as it's beautiful it's not worth the headache of the owners.

Ceremony site quite a distance from barn and, quite frankly, a port-a-loo when dressed up or (for the ladies) in heels and a long dress is not a nice experience.

Pop-up expo postponed from February, rescheduled for March, advertised again... so we booked Eventbrite tickets, then it was cancelled again on Facebook? When we checked it's still listed as an event on the venue website today. It's still listed on Eventbrite as happening on 10th March too. Disorganised?
