Such helpful place. You can ask for road conditions, where to stay, what to see and lovely people of the visitor center will guide you. Felt so comfortable and heard when asking questions. You can get maps, guides or gifts.

It was closed when we went there but all the information was put in a zip lock back and left in front of the door. It was so convenient, I thought it was so thoughtful of them. There was a cafe there too. Parking is ample

This is the place to buy your Broken Hill souvenirs (they are so hard to come by elsewhere in town). They have a wide variety of items. The staff are friendly and most helpful and knowledgeable about the area. There is also a Gloria Jeans cafe right next door.

Got some great advice on some significant sites about the mining history that the tourist advisor marked on a tourist map that we would have otherwise missed due to poor signage.

Thank you, Broken Hill Information Centre. It's one of the best l've been, too.
I like the "what's on" notice board for travellers like me. They have a FREE daily 10am Heritage walk ($ donation to volunteer guide appreciated) Mon - Fri. 2hr walk. The board tells you about markets, gigs, and activities.
The Gloria Jean's coffee shop attached is pretty good too.
You can park your c'van/motor home across the road, dump point and fill water tanks. Fabulous town set up for travellers.

What a wealth of information. Friendly and so gracious with their time. We are spending 4 days in Broken Hill and our itinerary is now set. We are heading off this morning for a free 2 hour heritage walk through the town setting off from the Information Centre.

Really friendly and informative staff, the set out tells a story of the locally geology and then moves on to the mining history of Broken Hill, the displays are well placed and described, well done!!

Stopped to have a shower. The showers are free. Just give the staff a $20.oo deposit for the key. You get your money back when you return the key. One stall in the men's toilet. Two in the women's. Best hot water in town. Bring your own towel and toiletries. How easy is that?

Fantastic, Fun, Central, well heated, well air-conditioned. Major Chain Coffee and Tucker. Great parking for attached Vans and loaded vehicles. Proximity Electric Vehicle Charging, outdoor seating and relaxing grassed park with views of Train Museum. Great first stop to the Far West.
