Restaurant 233

This is an interesting restaurant in that it looks like a "Japanese" restaurant but also provide delicious western food like burgers/chips. I've tried udon and Japanese bento box (shrimp tempura, see the picture below), both of which are amazingly good! You can see the size and volume of shrimp and most importantly you don't feel they are oily. Salad and spring roll are tasty as well. I almost eat my tongue.

Located in Waterloo, this Japanese restaurant is expectedly good. We have ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry Rice and Miso soup, it comes with TWOOOO Chicken Katsu with just $17.9, it’s crazy cheap for such amount. On top of that, it taste magnificent, the crust on the chicken matched perfectly with the soft meat, just like the one in Japan. We have also ordered two maki hand rolls with Fresh salmon and fresh tuna. It tastes fresh and clean, and that’s crazy amount for just $7.9. The Aburi tasting platter is our favourite, it’s a great choice if you are not into sashimi, it’s topped with grilled cheese and comes in grilled salmon, tuna, kingfish, scallops and wagyu beef. Lastly, we ordered The taiyaki with red bean paste, its sweet and tasty, and also comes with a Yuzu sorbet, it’s def a good treat after dinner. Will recommend this to everyone !!!!

The owner was really lovely. The food is a bit slow however you can really tell the owner puts the effort on each dish. The katsu curry was nicely cooked and the portion was big. I come here often, and never get disappointed.

The decor leaves a little to be desired, but the quality of food, big portions, good pricing and lovely customer service more than makes up for it all.

We tried the katsu which tasted fresh and not oily at all. Some sushi which had generous portions of salmon in it. A ramen which had a really flavourful broth without being too salty.

We will come back again for sure.

Literally everything that I’ve tried is good😍 and I’ve already tried more than six different things on their menu. This is the kinda restaurant that people should come by twice or even three times a week. Reasonable price, decent portions, you can always tell how the owner is putting efforts into everything:) love it and I’ll continually come back.

It was sooo delicious and super fresh! we ate at the restaurant where everything is very clean. food was served quickly and one dish after another was even tastier than the previous one. Too bad I didn't know this place existed before.

Newly established restaurant in Sydney, exceeded expectations and delivered quality delicious food. Tried out the Aburi and it is one of the best I have tasted. Miso soup was beautiful 👌. Next we tried the chicken katsu curry which is a must try and the prawn salad which were fantastic. If you haven't tried black sesame ice cream before, you must try it!

Wanted a late night feed for sushi and this place came up. Don't let the entrance fool you. They do sushi well.

Small Japanese Restaurant in Waterloo, serving literally everything! They have burgers, sushi, ramen, etc. Both ramens were delicious.

I was surprised with the variety of food here when I read the menu. Tried Aburi sushi and the big meat + seafood platter today. I’m usually picky with Japanese food, but I have to give my compliments out this time. Highly recommend 👍

WOW! I went to Restaurant 233 on a whim with nothing but pork ramen on my mind and they did not dissapoint. I walked 20mins home and it was still hot, and very delicious. 10/10 food with fantastic, polite, fast service. I will be visiting again next time I'm in the city.

This place is a hidden gem near our hotel in Green Square. We were a little hesitant by the simple decor and the Chinese characters on the menu, but left totally impressed with the quality and portion size of the food. The sushi platter was a bomb - the kind of sushi that cost a fraction of what we normally pay for in San Francisco!!!
