Sushi Rio

We've come before to this lil tucked away sushi train, but tonight in particular, we were blown away by the food and service that we had to leave a review. We watched the chef create each dish with meticulous care and attention to detail. And was delighted by the team of super friendly waitresses. Thank you for treating us like VIPs!

Best in its price! Sushi is freshly made. The ingredient is at a good level of its price. We went in Thursday night and some of the menu is out for that day but the staff are really nice. They explained to us that if the fish is not fresh, they'll not sell it at all. Will definitely go back again.

Went here thinking it was the same as the other Sushirio on Sussex St, as that one has now shut down. A group of three people and we ate for around $30 each.
The atmosphere was completely different and many parts of the shop seemed old and not very attractive. The seats seemed old.
The service was pleasant, where they took the orders and passed them to the chefs in the middle very quickly. The chefs prepare the sushi that you order right in front of you. There were two when we went, the older one seemed mlre experienced and generally made better sushi than the younger chef.
They also spell the name on their pamphlet wrong: "Suhsi Rio".
The food was great though, you can never go wrong with the freshly grilled scallops. I do not have any photos of the food though but it was great. No complaints there. Had around 8 plates of grilled scallop.
Will most likely come back givdn Sussex St has closed.
The price is very good though, $3.80 per plate. $4.50 for side dishes, though we didnt try any.
Edit: Went back again, personally loved it. We ordered many dishes and I have attached them below. They gave us a performance, it was spectacular. Will come back again.

Have tried so many sushi places in city. But this is definitely to go. Sushi were made fresh and so delicious. We tried the king fish and scallops which were recommended by sushi chef Jeff was totally worth it!

Ordered the sushi platter last min before a big event. They were so accommodating and helpful! Thank you to the team for all the help! The platter was a big hit. Very fresh ingredients. Highly recommended 👍🏼

Sushi Rio really provides affordable and delicious sushis. The sushi is nice and most things are $3.80. The sukiyaki wasn’t that great but service was good.

My dear colleague introduced me to this sushi train a few months ago and we come here for lunch on a weekly basis. I have even brought my mum here and she loves it! Jeffersen and Michael and the rest of the staff are friendly, professional and they give 10/10 star service! The food is so fresh. The sashimi here is to die for! You don’t expect this sushi train to deliver top food and yet remain so affordable. I will always recommend this place to everyone I know. Keep up the great service guys! ☺🍣

I had an amazing experience at Sushi Rio! One of the chefs made us a special off-menu dish that was absolutely delicious and it needs to be added to the menu, The service and creativity here are top-notch. Highly recommended! 🍣👌

Wide Range sushi selection, quite cheap compared to other sushi train in sydney. Quite busy at dinnertime, can be quite slow but The staffs were very helpful. Nicely design shop with cozy atmosphere. The salmon looks very fresh. Even though the grill one in the train was cold , they will happily burn new one for us. Definitely comeback and recommended for more sushi after movie. Had salmon skin and that the the best side dish we had.

I’ve been coming to this sushi place for over a year now. I come with my colleagues on a weekly basis. The sushi is fresh, great variety and delicious. The service is great! Jefferson and the girl who make sushi (sorry I don’t know her name) make amazing sushi and Michael gives quick service and ALL of them give wonderful customer service. The place is always clean and presentable and definitely my fav place to have sushi train in the city. Definitely would recommend to all sushi lovers 🍣

OMG !! the foods was amaziingg !! I had a fresh sashimi and the price not expensive at ALL and the foods was best of the best 10/10 udon was perfectly cooked and the Teams was extremely helpful and very kindly , jeff was serving me a fresh grilled scallops , squid and salmon 🍣 food was extremely delicious. I definitely recommend this place for whoever craving japanese cuisine and fresh sashimi you would never regret eating here ..

Absolutely incredible soft shell crab hand roll at very reasonable price. Service very speedy. Not that busy either.

Also had octopus karaage which come with a spicy topping (which I would ask for without next time).

Young staff are super-efficient; food is fresh and constantly topped-up; special orders are delivered quickly. No slight on the restaurant for 4-star atmosphere rating; it's the George St fast food/cinema arcade, after all. Sushi Rio is be far the best option for a quick, healthy meal.

Great sushi train place in the city. The menu offers a variety of options, fresh and tasty. Very well made, portion sizes are more than enough for an affordable price. Attentive and friendly staff who make us feel welcome everytime. I'd highly recommand !

Reasonably priced sushi and very tasty. Came for 3 plates, left with 6. Most of them are for the same price, even the salmon roe gunkans. Would be here often if I lived in Sydney.
