Hungry Chefs Cafe

During a recent visit to Sydney we came across this cafe. Very spacious nice cafe and it had this welcoming feeling. So first impression is really good. We were a group of four and we ordered Fried Chicken Burger, Steak Sandwich, Chef's Omlette with smoke salmon and last not least a classic Rhuben Sandwich. Food came relatively fast and staff was very attentive. Rhuben Sandwitch is not the best one I ever had but it was really good. Rest of the gang including two teenagers also happy with their food. All in all we enjoys the food, place and the hospitality.

Very welcoming place with great music, friendly people and good food. Service crew is highly efficient, keeping the place spick and span despite the busy crowd.

I am one of the regulars in this cafe as I love the friendly staff and that it is the perfect place to chill.

But this was my first time trying the steak sandwich, and I enjoyed it so much.

The steak is cooked the way I like it. I love the other layer of taste from the fried egg, the veggies are crunchy, and the Turkish roll is fantastic.

This sandwich is highly recommended. A must-try.

Food was amazing. Bacon & sourdough a little too crispy but scrambled eggs/hash brown were incredible. Great coffee and friendly staff too. I didn't order any of them but they had a great menu full of healthy smoothies with protein, etc. Cool relaxed vibe to the place too

Really enjoyed sitting in this spacious cafe, felt quite welcoming in terms of layout.
Food was great, the Korean fried chicken burger was decently sized and the chicken was juicy! Good iced coffee, general price seemed on par with a more expensive brunch place, but felt as if it was justified by the quality. I’d go back again if I was in the area.

A lovely young guy made my caramel milkshake, offered me to try it to make sure it was good for me. It was delicious! He said he was learning to make them and wanted to make sure I get the best experience here.

Hungry Chef has a great atmosphere created by super friendly and hard working staff. The venue has high ceiling vibe with a mix of plants and exposed brick walls. The food selection is quality is up to par. Overall, simply a very nice place to visit and take a breather.

Really good coffee here. I haven't had a chance to try the food yet but it looks good.
Update - I've tried the breakfast bacon and egg roll with a coffee and it was delicious. Lots of tasty bacon in the roll.

We are really liking Hungry Chefs. Our third time here and the food has been excellent. I particularly love the kids menu $3 Coco pops and $6 toasties such great pricing!

Revisited on 11/08/19 - customer services are still good. Food and their presentation are fine.
It was all good until I tasted a broken piece of plastic inside the potato gems. Surprised me a little. reported to the staff, where they apologised then gave us discount vouchers for next visits.

Under the new management (or changed hand) with new menu. Yet still taste good with interesting menu.

The food is delicious and service as well. The coffee is perfect. They have also a good selection of juices & healthy options. I have tried many dishes & they were good. I haven’t tried the pancake but I saw more than one customers in different visits did not finish (nearly half of dish ). I like the atmospher: high ceiling with sun light everywhere.

Food was delicious, service was friendly and outdoor seating was dog friendly. Highly recommend to try the carrot ginger juice and the Mexican chicken bowl. A good choice is also the breakfast plate, can never go wrong with that.

H/C is one of my favourite places in Waterloo: the food is reasonably priced, generous portions, and really really yummy. I highly recommend the Eggs Benny (and I am a connoisseur of Eggs Benny). More importantly though, the Chorizo Croissants are so addictive and delicious, I’ve been back so many times for them. HC is also open at night, and i love swinging in on a Thursday for their excellent Peri Peri Chicken burger (but all their burgers are super yummy). I am impressed, I love it, and I will keep coming back. Points awarded for smiles, service, Eggs Benny innovation and succulent burgers.

Pretty cafe, very relaxed. I liked the one that was here before (Barista and Cook) but Hungry Chefs is great too. Food presentation is pretty, portions are not huge. Standard 'Sydney' cafe prices, brunch items around 20$, smoothie 10$. Friendly staff!

I ordered the 'Classic Cheeseburger' and it was delicious! The menu did not specify but it was double patty. With the special burger sauce, the burger reminded of a better version of Big Mac from McD's. Chips was crispy and delicious as always! Definitely the best chips in Sydney! I would definitely be coming back again to try their other menus.

Food was exceptional, just as great as the coffee!

The customer service was top tier, will definitely be coming again.
