This place is absolutely magical. Proper off-grid camping but still close to town. There’s a beautiful river that runs alongside the campsites. The sites are spaced out and large, there is a hot shower and serviced sawdust toilet block.

The owners are also incredibly friendly and can be seen around looking after horses and maintaining the property. Our kids played with theirs on multiple occasions in the lake and on their bikes.

I’d highly recommend this place for both experienced and novice campers.

Great spot. We camped on the pine hideaway site and it was quiet and secluded yet close to the river and shower/toilets. Hosts were great and super accommodating. Will stay again for sure.

Beware of the strict cancellation policy. Owner was very slow to respond to a modification request due to family member having surgery and then took the full payment as cancellation fee. Avoid at all costs.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I booked through hipcamp and paid the amount quoted in full. I had checked the price several times over the course of a few days (while making plans). About 6 weeks later (and 2 weeks before scheduled booking) I received an email from hipcamp saying that I'd booked during a time the host was updating their fee structure and they were requesting a further $1,162. This was the first I heard of any problems. The owner cancelled the booking when I refused to pay the extra money - which would have quadrupled the price. At best, the owner stuffed up their own Hipcamp listing, then tried to make me pay quadruple the price to make up for their error. At worst, this is a scam - they waited until 2 weeks before the booking to say anything. Horrible experience. Appalling behaviour by the owner.

We camped on River Flat. The toilet facilities were beyond atrocious, (prepare to vomit) no cleaning or maintenance was evident. The grass and weeds driving in were higher than the car. Some degree of maintenance and caretaking was expected by us in view of their exorbitant nightly rate.

Michelle cancelled our AirBnB trip 2 weeks before our stay, stating they had to temporarily close the accomodation due to unforeseen circumstances...then made the same dates available on their website which were more than double the price!
What a horrible and dodgy host. Please never book this place.

About Uki
Village in Australia

Uki is a village situated near Mount Warning in the Tweed Valley of far northern New South Wales, Australia in the Tweed Shire. At the 2011 census, Uki had a population of 765 people. Its name may have come from an aboriginal word for "small water plant with a yellow flower and edible root". The name UKI was actually derived from the limber mills in the area. Prime timber for export was marked UK 1, as in timber destined for the United Kingdom - grade 1. Hence UK1, which colloquially named the township UKI. source
