Quay is undeniably the best restaurant in Sydney! From the warm and welcoming service to the innovative and delicious dishes, it stands out not only in Sydney but across all of Australia. I visited Quay on the day of my graduation ceremony, and it made the special day even more memorable. Every staff member sincerely congratulated me, adding a personal touch to the exceptional experience. Every aspect of the dining experience is meticulously crafted, from the beautifully presented appetizers to the exquisite main courses. The desserts are truly exceptional, with both presentation and taste being top-notch. Quay offers a culinary journey that is unforgettable and unmatched.

Bonkers. This place is bonkers. Amazing food at the highest level you expect and then it performs magic tricks in your mouth. Every dish surprised me. The amazing lobster was the most “basic” item on the menu. Somehow the water crested almonds took the show in that dish. Iceberg dessert has been updated and even better than before. Views are still there seeing as the location hasn’t changed. Service is amazing, each dish came with a story and instructions, amazing staff are attentive but leave you to enjoy the meal. Hands down best restaurant in Australia. Always get the 8 course.

We came to celebrate our one year anniversary and we had such a wonderful and memorable experience.
Everything was perfect, the food, the team and the view.
The food was very tasteful, each dish coming with a new, surprising and delicious flavor. They also offer GF and DF options which were really amazing!
We also greatly appreciated all the special care from the Quay team. They did everything to make our night special and it was a success. I can speak highly enough of them!
A profound and sincere thanks to all of the team and a special thanks to the Chef and his team for the amazing work they are doing! ✨

Peter Gilmore, an Australian renowned chef is now the executive chef of the Quay restaurant, which has been named one of The World's 50 Best Restaurants since 2009, as well as the Bennelong at Sydney Opera House.

I came today to celebrate engagement with my fiancée. Greeted warmly by the hostess and congratulated by all the professional floor staffs.
We were also seated at the table with the view of opera house which was fantastic to have.

Every dish amazed us. Contrast and synchronicity of each ingredients. Mixture of flavours and textures that was just outstanding. Attention to details to literally everything by the chefs and wait staffs are delivered with excellence. Favourite dish was the Pasture Raised Duck.

Honestly, the best dish i’ve ever eaten in my life.
There was also house crumpets with truffle infused butter which was my fiancée’s favourite.

Service was top notch. We want to thank especially to Para (i may have misspelled), that’s taken care of us for the whole evening. We were also given complimentary Peter Gilmore’s signature mudcake which was phenomenal. And also he was waiting for us at the door to give us a little box of chocolate as a treat.

Overall, we had an exceptional evening here at The Quay. The place is also quite self explanatory of why it’s crowned as Australian Best Restaurant . 🎩🎩🎩

Revisited Quay after 6 years, the services we received from ALL staff on the night is one of best in the world.
They have allocated a window table with Habour bridge view and I checked with the front desk manager is there an opera house view table available? She has very gently said
It’s fully booked tonight but she will try to relocate us to a table once it’s available. she has organised for us a window table with opera house view to enjoy our last course. Thank you so much for going the extra miles to accommodate our wishes 🙏.
We ordered 8 courses with pairing of non alcoholic and wine pairing (we have received additional 6 complementary items/courses).
Definitely to visit Quay restaurant if you want to experience the world class service, view of Sydney opera house and Habour bridge and “quality” of food.
Shared the photos of the complementary items and tables with Habour bridge and opera house.

Wonderful lunch at Quay, service was excellent. We had a great view of the harbour despite the dreary weather.

Menu highlight: loved the white coral dessert, light and refreshing.

Went to Quay on the tail end of a food trip to Sydney, we thought we had already been quite saturated with eating. Yet, Quay still managed to knock it out of the park. The restaurant checked all the boxes - food was outstanding and service was top-notch. The building that Quay is located in is a little dated (part of the overseas passenger terminal), but the restaurant itself had good ambience and great views of both the harbour bridge on one side, and the Sydney Opera House on the other.

We were welcomed by a team of hosts and servers who paid great attention to detail. When they noticed us taking photos of the harbour bridge, one of them went the extra mile to show us an even better photo spot that guests would not normally know of. That it was during golden hour only left us with even better pictures to take home with.

For the dessert courses, the team also offered us seats facing the Sydney Opera House for a different (and better) view. We took up the offer and were treated to a fireworks display.

There is no shortage of fresh and high quality produce in Sydney, yet Quay still made every dish was outstanding and memorable in its own way. The dining experience was elevated by a Temperance pairing that had a mix of juices, teas and wine alternative.

We happened to sit near a couple who left prematurely before having any food. They were looking for an ala carte experience, and not a tasting menu. The service staff handled this unexpected circumstance with absolute grace, despite the cancellation fees that would typically apply for no-shows.

All in all, a place not to miss for one of the best -- if not the best -- meal in Sydney. It was certainly our best.

Thank you Quay for a wonderful evening. I booked the green room, there are 35 people in total, 5 courses. From the main dish to the beef, each is more exquisite than the last, especially the beef, my father ate 2 servings. The planning of the whole wedding dinner is also very humane, organized, and the scene atmosphere is miraculously good. All the guests were impressed by the scenery of Quay. Thank you for Quay’s staff!

There is a reason Quay is Australia's most awarded restaurant. It's spectacular - the food is delicious and inventive, the service is extraordinary, the cocktails are great, just like they have been for 20 years. Fine dining at its best.

The environment is clean, comfortable, and not crowded, and the service is excellent! We had a great view of the opera house from our seats. As for the food, I loved every dish from the appetizers to the main course and desserts! Even though it's quite expensive, it's definitely a restaurant worth recommending!
And lucky us, we got the birthday cake from the restaurant.

The food was sophisticated & high quality but the iconic & beautiful view just took the whole dining experience to another level! As a three hatted restaurant, I walked in with very high expectations & as much as I enjoyed the experience, I was slightly disappointed with the food. Some of the dishes lacked depth in flavour & missed the mark for me. They were still delicious but for the price, I was hoping for more. Overall, it was a very pleasant evening enjoying the gorgeous view & staff were very lovely!

We had an amazing experience at Quay. Everything was delicious, and the service was wonderful. My favorites were the pork jowl, which was probably the best tasting pork jowl I’ve ever had, and the seaweed-chocolate appetizer. The cocktails were also very tasty.

For the first half of our meal, a cruise ship blocked our view to the Sydney Opera House but then the cruise ship left and we had a perfect view as well.

Delicious food and wonderful service. I'd say the chef is too enamored with cream, it got a bit too filling. Standouts were the abalone - a little slice of the sea - and the duck which was delicious roasted. View was amazing and food to match.

Eating at this Restaurant is an absolute Masterpiece, from a variety of tasty dishes and exotic dishes, this is a must try restaurant. After a restaurant owner Peter Gilmore opened this place 50 years ago, eating at his luxurious restaurant is a absolute memory creating joy, happiness and experiences through the freshness and quality of the ingredients used in his refined delicate dishes created from his recipes made with love and passion, the colour and appearance of the food shows its beauty and unique qualities to flourish on the plate in which the food was placed at a perfect angle for us to indulge in his delightful sensational Aussie cuisine at an unforgettable price.

The intricate and thoughtful design giving guests a vivid feeling of the restaurant is absolutely stunning, the colours and textures of this fully detailed atmosphere gives me an immerse unforgettable experience making me want to come back for more to embark on more adventures with this restaurant.

I knew booking Quay that it was going to be something special and thankfully it more than exceeded expectations. Quay holds it owns with starred restaurants in Europe with ease.

Service was relaxed but professional and very friendly. The views are amazing, the dining room understated.

The main attraction, the food was freaking delicious. Every course was a knockout, bar maybe the duck.

Favourites included the hand picked seafood, squid and mushroom, coral and the absolute winner that is bone broth noodles, I'll never be satisfied with regular noodles again.

We'll definitely be back
