Can definitely agree this place is a hidden gem. I have lived in Rockdale for months and finally decided to try it.
It has a very “Chinese Market Restaurant” vibe. The setting is casual and the food has a home cooked “Mom and Pop” feel to it.
I had the combination chow mein on a previous day and enjoyed the blacker pepper sizzling plate and the shredded pork in spicy and sour sauce today. Top it all off with special fried rice and a hot and sour soup and you have a great meal!
The only thing that would be better is if the space was a bit bigger. Few tables mean longer waits which means some customers walk away and the staff are bit “hurried” in the way they take your order and serve you.

Sun's Noodle is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition for the outstanding quality of its cuisine. Though its modest appearance and unassuming ambiance might lead some to underestimate its culinary prowess, the focus is entirely on the food. This restaurant delivers a truly exceptional dining experience that rivals the very best of authentic Hong Kong Street Restaurant cuisine.

The moment I took my first bite of the savory and perfectly cooked dishes, I was hooked. From the succulent garlic pork to the perfectly stir-fried vegetables in pig oil, every dish I tried at Sun's Noodle was a revelation. Each dish was expertly prepared, resulting in a mouth-watering explosion of flavors and textures that left me wanting more. A true masterpiece. I found myself savoring every bite, wanting to make the meal last as long as possible.

I can confidently say that Sun's Noodle is one of the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of dining at. Its understated atmosphere belies the quality of its cuisine, which is nothing short of exceptional. Sun’s Noodle is sure to delight even the most discerning of palates.

Sensation HK Dai Pa Dong atmosphere that brought us back to Hong Kong!

The steamed pork mine with salted fish is our fave. If you order you can hear the chef "chop, chop, chop" mincing the fresh pork mince SO GOOD!

We will be back for sure!

You know its good when you cant read chinese specials on the wall but the restaurant happy to tell you what it is

Eating here made me feel extremely satisfied. They male and serve genuinely delicious food with genuine care.

The guy who serves customers was very personable, friendly, and helpful with the menu. He has the best tattoos on his arms. They make receiving the amazing food here an even cooler experience. Never change!

On the service, again, the server made sure to give us a table near the exit so we could park our pram and easily wander out into the plaza with our baby if she was fussy. Very considerate.

The menu is a bit overwhelming at first, but all choices seem to be good choices, so that takes the pressure off a bit. If you really can't choose, try asking the guy at the counter about dishes that suit your preferences (e.g., pork, noodles, spicy). It's a busy place though, so that option should best be kept for times of need.

A tip for ordering, if you are a newbie like us, is that the sizzling plates/hot pot dishes go well with rice. They are more expensive, but if you put them with rice, you have enough for a a couple of meals.

We had a "combination" sizzling plate, which I have attached a picture of. It is literally a combination of meat and seafood with veggies and delicious sizzling sauce. They are great at suaces and flavours here. Oh my gosh!! Mindblowingly yum! We also has Mongolian style beef and fried hokkien noodles (delicious and a very large serving) and deep fried chicken wontons (I think). The wontons come with sweet chilli sauce. Very yummy. This was enough food for two hungry people.

In terms of veggie stuff, there is mainly the eggplant sizzling place and the salt and pepper eggplant. I asked about kai lan or some sort of veggie side and there didn't seem to be much. Still, the sauces and cooking is great for veggie cooking.

Authentic Cantonese foods, some exclusive dishes rarely found in other places. Decent price and generous portion. They were getting very busy and you could end up a long wait if you coming during lunch/dinner rush hours. We are happy to wait and it’s worth of the time. It’s a very small place and only five or six tables. Chef is very welcoming and busy at multitasking (greeting, cooking, answer phone and taking photo order).

Great food. "Wok Hei" was spectacular. Small premises and need to wait for the food since they are so busy.... Especially when you include all the takeaways. Unfortunately, takeaway is not an option for me as we are too far away (more than 5 minutes) Place only seats around 20 so do not expect too much, but the quality of the food is terrific 👍 Good HK feel.

We went ther on a Saturday night around 7-8ish pm and waited for around 10 minutes. The owner was very friendly and helpful and made recommendations according to our preferences. We ordered one soup and three stir-fry dishes (3 people). The portion was decent and we were all very full lol. And the tastes were very very nice! Highly recommend their black pepper sauce stir-fry beef!

A very homey, cozy and friendly diner. Loved the nostalgic vibe! Will definitely be back again some time!

This 大排档 or ‘daipaidong’ is a hidden gem that delivers real and warming Cantonese home food.

The pepper pork stomach and chicken soup was 10 out of 10, it was beautifully rich and authentically Cantonese. Also highly recommend the steamed pork 饼 which is steamed pork belly finally chopped by hand, topped with dried scallop floss and drizzled with a delicious soy based sauce and sizzling oil.

Portion sizes are huge and at very low prices too

This place is a hidden gem! The chef was very welcoming and friendly. I've eaten here a few times over the years and all meals were great and value for money. Last night I got takeaway and ordered the steam dim sims and the special fried rice. The dim sims were large and tasty and the fried rice, one of the best I've had in a while.

Probably the best Chinese/Cantonese restaurant in Sydney? Portion is huge and everything is cooked to perfection. Shop is tiny so prepare to wait a while if you come in dinner time.

Absolute good value for the amount of food you get. They are very generous with the portions, however, you may want to order take away as the place have less seating.

Look, this place appears super run-down and derelict. We can all see that. But I guess that's part of its authenticity.

My goodness, it is without a doubt the best Hong Kong cuisine in town for its price point.
The food was incredibly comforting, came out in good portions, and was really quick.

I went there at around 8pm and they were selling out of some stuff already. Got the fried pork chop, signature soup and fried rice. Left incredibly satisfied.

To be honest, I'm almost a little hesitant about adding a positive review to this place because once it's properly discovered it won't be a secret little gem anymore. But alas, the food is too darn good. At the moment, I think it's mainly East-Asians visiting this joint since it's tucked away so well. Do yourself a favour and just try it out. Park at Rockdale Library nearby btw.

Have been trying to eat here for sometime on Sundays which never worked out for me. Why. The are not open on Sundays. Duh. Today (Thursday) was my day. Bought heaps of dishes. Takeaway. Big serving deep dishes was noticed first. Loved the Satay and special fried rice. Other dishes were good to okay. But that’s alright, can’t love everything and with plenty of choice to try other dishes. All in all would definitely go back again. Great value for money for the servings provided, food tasted good and fresh.
