I have shopped in this store several times over the past few months and have been delighted with my purchases and enjoyed good conversations with the staff. I also do not under the negative comments in the reviews. I believe Cindy served me on at least one occasion and she was helpful & enthusiastic

I've been coming to Bellingen for a few years now, I love the place and every time I stop by RJ's because it has somewhat of an op-shop vibe to it. You have to do a bit of digging, but you will find gems, I picked up a limited edition Neck Face Thrasher tee which I hadn't seen anywhere else and was stoked. Also, I was surprised with all the 1 star reviews about Cindy and her customer service, she's always been nothing but super sweet, welcoming and genuine to me. People these days are seemingly paper thin skinned, it's like if you weren't treated like royalty, just run to google reviews and assassinate someone's character. My dad always said, believe half of what you see and none of what you read. So yeah, guess that applies to this review also.

Wonderful range of clothing, the owner was kind and patient resulting in a perfect outfit. She provided me with a genuine greeting and experience synonymous with that of a familiar small town worth hitching a ride on a bunch of balloons to. 🎈 Other reviews seem to miss the mark and are probably a mirror on the reviewers themselves.

Brilliant shop stacked with Gr8 stock and Cindy and her staff give exceptional service. Highly recommend you browse and buy.

Owner was lovely, gave our dog treats. Great selection of clothes in there, we found some really unique bargains.

I wish I could say that the service received at this store was as great as the range of clothes and shoes on offer! The owner of this store needs to take a class in customer service. I have previously purchased a pair of Bogs Boots from this store and I love them, and always see items that I would like to buy, but the last two visits have left me taking my business elsewhere. If you can get past the negative customer service you will find something here that you’ll want to buy.

A big array of clothes to choose from. Yesterday the staff person was nice, today the other one peculiarly snooty. Nice and chatty one minute then clearly peeved the next. Don't even know what the cause was. Strange! Needs a different job not involving customer service I think.

A review on my mum's behalf. She doesn’t normally review, however, she is quite upset about the treatment she received today.

I entered this shop in Bellingen feeling good about being able to support a small business in a small town, neighbouring my home town.
I left feeling absolutely awful and wondering what I could possibly have done to deserve the verbal abuse I received from the shop assistant.

After initially being ignored when I stopped at the front counter I called out "Excuse me" to the staff member, who I believe is the owner. I asked whether she stocked a particular type of jeans. She then walked to the jeans section, touched one pair of jeans, then stated: "Doesn't look like it. Now get out of here!"

I'm a fairly placid person, but this was so bizarre and uncalled for, that I felt the need to respond, stating: "I have no idea why you're speaking so rudely to me. I came here to support a small business instead of shopping in Coffs." The owner simply ignored me and walked away to the back of the shop.

In all my life, in any shops and in fact, in any situation I've been in, I have never been spoken to like this. From seeing these other reviews, I am very concerned that person after person experiencing this same treatment is bound to taint the reputation of Bellingen, a town that I love 😔

The woman who owns this shop needs psychiatric help. She is extremely abusive and unprofessional. I was told by another staff member that I could get a refund on a purchase and was then abused by the owner when I attempted to get the refund. She then walked away from the counter and walked out the back and refused to speak to me. She comes across as psychotic and from reading other reviews here, I’d say she is someone who shouldn’t be working in contact with any people. It seems clear that the good reviews that have been left are from people who know this woman, Cindy. I’d say that the only real reviews are the ones that are about how horrible she is. Also, the phone number listed for this shop is for Domino’s Pizza so you can’t even call. Cindy, if you read this, I really hope that you can get the help you need. It must be absolutely terrible being you and I can’t imagine you have many people that can tolerate being in your life.

I’m not one to review much, but my sister, cousin and myself had a really shocking experience in here.
I remembered having an odd experience with the woman running the shop a year or two prior. As such, I made sure to smile and say hello when first entering. I was with my boyfriend, I tried a couple of things on with no problems, except she was hovering around in an odd manner. I didn’t think anything of it at the time.
I came back in with my sister and cousin to show them the items I was hoping to buy. My cousin found something as well and we both went into the change rooms (separately).
The woman immediately followed us and stood outside, demanding she see what we took in with us. Although taken back by her hostility, we understood her wanting to know what we had taken in, so we both showed her the items, after which she began mildly abusing us, telling us we didn’t understand what it was like to own a business. She then accused me of hiding one of the items, as she remembered me coming in with my boyfriend an hour before (I hadn’t, but if I had, it still didn’t feel worthy of the response). She then made a comment on my body, inferring I wouldn’t fit into the top I was hoping to buy.
All in all a really shocking experience, I don’t know if any of us have had something like that happen before. I’m not sure what’s going on with her, but it really put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.

Sincerely believe the woman in this store might have psychosis. I went in with my girlfriend as she tried something on the woman hovered around us which seemed uncomfortable but didn’t say a word.

Later my girlfriend goes in with her sister with the intention of buying about $100 worth of clothes. The woman quite quickly accused her of stealing clothes and then took some subtle jabs at trying to body shame her (even though she is stunning). The girls walked out very upset and told me, I walked in to ask her what the problem was and she started acting extremely nice and telling me there was no problem.

I've never had this happen to me before. My friends and I decided to visit bello today and this was the last store we walked into which was a shame as it made me leave bello in a bad mood. We looked around and drifted towards the back of the store near the fitting rooms where my friend and I found clothing that we liked.

We hadn't even been in the store for more than 3 minutes before the store owner yelled at us from the front "what are you guys doing back there?". The tone was extremely accusatory and it felt like she was accusing us of stealing. (We had bags with us from other stores and as a retail worker myself I understand that could be a reason for the owner to want to keep a close eye on us, however, there are much better ways to do that.) We reply with "we're just looking" to which she replies "well you can just leave then".

We ignore her and continue talking about the dress, my friends eyes switch from looking at me to looking behind me and as I turn around the owner is standing there glaring at us, causing my friend and I to feel uncomfortable. After seeing our perplexed looks the lady then says "I'm just seeing what you guys are doing". My friends says "that's alright, we were just looking" to which the lady condescendingly said "I know it's alright, it's my store"

At this point I'm ready to leave as the lady has been accusatory, rude and made us feel uncomfortable in the 3 minutes we were there for. She proceeds to ask if we're going to buy anything or just look at it and my friend says that she doesn't have enough money for it (she was only showing the dress to me saying that I could buy it) and says she might come back another day and asks where the lady gets all the clothes from. Her demeanor was consistently rude throughout the conversation with my friend causing me to make up an excuse to leave. (which I shouldn't have to do).

I don't usually leave reviews as I assume most of the time I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time when my experience isn't good at a place, but after reading the reviews I've concluded that this assumption was not so.

I also am in disbelief that there are very few people supporting this business and have noticed that a lot of them are degrading the reviewers who are giving 1 stars. Don't believe those reviews. If you want similar clothes, you can go to coopers surf or urban life as I noticed a lot of the clothes were also sold at those stores and were around the same prices.

Enter at your own risk. The shop assistant shot herself in the foot with her outrageous rudeness when I was about to buy something. You may spoil your opinion of the otherwise charming town of Bellingen if you dare to set foot in this shop.

As others have said the woman working there is most odd. Seemed bothered that we were just browsing and not coming into the store with something in mind to buy, which led to her making a sarcastic comment. Would avoid - beautiful shop, shame she doesn’t deserve any business to it
