Green Tea House

I went to this shop today in hopes of finding a beautiful matcha bowl. I ended up having such a wonderful experience there. Truly made my day. The owner is so lovely and will tell you many stories if you allow him. I will definitely return to buy some teas.

Went a few months ago and can’t stop thinking about how nice of an experience it was. The owner made us all of the green teas to try and told us the stories behind them, showed photos of the tea plants, explained the tastes and how to drink it. He was very friendly and enthusiastic. I brought some matcha and was surprised how bright green it is compared to other brands I’ve previously brought. Such quality. They also sell mugs, bowls and plates that looked really nice.

I love this place, amazing range of Japanese products. I will always get my matcha from here. It comes from Kyoto and you can taste the quality. Exceptional customer service! I’ve recommended this place to all my friends

The best tea experience in Perth! If you enjoy green tea or Japanese culture, this place is a must visit. The owner is a very friendly man who has decades of green tea knowledge. He will happily explain to you the processes, and about the varieties of Japanese green tea if you give him the chance. I would encourage you to take your time in this store, to respect the process and to enjoy yourself. I have found it's less busy on week days 😊

My favourite place to go for Japanese tea. A lovely peaceful little shop tucked away in the corner, with a great range of fresh teas and cute teawares. They are very knowledgeable, always happy to help, and very generous with tea samples! I always spend more time in there than I think I will.

My partner and myself went here to get some authentic teas to make some homemade ice tea. The gentleman running the store was lovely - graciously giving us tastings of a few of his recommendations, answering our questions about brewing techniques and giving us a wonderful educational experience beyond just trying to push a sale. You really can tell that he lives and breathes his tea and culture! We left with a couple of bags and it really made his day ☺ a lovely experience over all

I have been buying my tea from the Green Tea House for some years now. Tommy sells some of the best green tea in Japan, including premium teas grown in Kyoto and Kagoshima. The atmosphere in his shop is relaxed and friendly, and I invariably learn something new about Japanese culture each time I'm there. Very highly recommended.

I went to Japan for a month and just got back in Perth. I found this shop in Google with good review. The owner actually had a chat with us about Japan and tea ceremony. I bought a tea jar and sencha from Kyoto. Then we were offered free taste of green tea which was great. It felt like I was really in Japan! There are interesting items and great finds. Highly recommend to visit this place.

Best Japanese Green Tea Adviser Ever.

Great little shop tucked away. Owner is very knowledgeable about all thing Japanese tea and they have such a good range of teas and pottery to chose from.

Love this place. Iwasaki-san will serve and teach you all about the teas he has on sale, so you get to try it before you buy and know how to brew it. There's tones of japanese dishes, utensils, tea pots and other Japanese things can be found here if your looking for a traditional gift.

I'm a cynic, but I was unironically charmed by this experience. I went looking for some green tea as a gift for a family member. The proprietor, clearly passionate about tea, served me some freshly brewed, some iced, and talked me through the choices. I left refreshed, knowing more about tea, and with some primo leaves. Superb tea house that specialises in Japanese teas (sencha, matcha, gemai-cha, bancha,houjicha,gencha,gyokuro) and sells all the ceremonial containers as well including pots, whisks and cups etc. The owner is a gentle Japanese man who is extremely knowledgeable about tea and can give you full stories of origin if you have the time. Highly recommended!

This man is an absolute genius when it comes to Japanese green tea. He was more than welcoming and so happy to share his knowledge about not just the tea but the process of how it is made and the ritual behind making it. Occassionally they do tea ceremonies here as well which I would love to be a part of.

Amazing shop!! Handmade pottery from Japan and the owners will make you tea and explain everything as you sip!! I could spend hours here!!

What a little gem. This unassuming modest shop was tucked away in Subiaco off Hay St. It was an enlightening and entertaining experience. The owner was delightful and knowledgeable. Loved it.
