Murray River Canoe Hire

Fantastic and straight forward service. We had the 3hr half day trip and were picked up and dropped off at our location, had a full safety brief. Truly does cater to all abilities! I've never canoed in my life - David clearly explained how to safely operate and navigate a canoe the Murray within like 15 minutes because he's a friendly man with superb communication skills. Did the whole 17km no problem and had the time of my life with my friends, will definitely recommend it to anyone.

Great experience. Dave is a true Albury local. So not only a great paddle but lots of great tips on places to visit in Albury.

Best experience ever. It was fun, relaxing, great view, scary, dangerous and amazing. Make sure to listen and never miss any instructions, bring water, food and phone in case of emergency. Always be alert and careful. We had 3hours canoe, I would recommend if you tried it before but wouldn't recommend if you haven't tried or don't know how to swim, maybe just try an hour one.

Fantastic day on the river. Cruised at our own pace with very little paddling required. Pack some snacks, drink and your sunscreen and enjoy the ride.

Absolutely brilliant! Had such a nice morning canoeing down the Murray. You can tell David has been doing this for a long time. He's exceptionally organised, patient and gives great advice on what type of canoe is right for you (he has a few different options if you want to go solo, double or triple). I was in a big canoe with my friend and my pet husky who absolutely loved it. You really don't need to be that fit as the current does most of the work. David gives you some basic instructions before you head off and it's very easy and safe.
Don't confuse this canoe hire for another operator with a similar name - David is the original canoe guy. There's a picture of him on the website.

Great experience and exciting way to see Albury. My wife and I had so much fun we accidentally paddled right passed our pick-up point! The folks at Murray River Canoe Hire were nice enough to pick us up and take us back to our initial rendezvous. Definitely a must do if you're in town!

We had a wonderful experience, my 80-yr old mother, 1 adult and 2 teenagers. Beautiful scenery (including cows). Dave was punctual and gave clear instructions and made sure we were all well prepared. Well worth the 2 hour drive to get there.

This was our second time with Murray River canoe hire to do a 3 hour canoe. Really lovely experience, so beautiful and peaceful. This time my 12 year old took a single kayak which gave him lots of independence (as well as sore paddling muscles by the end - always good to tire him out!) Even when you get tired the Murray’s current draws you along a nice pace without too much effort.
Really knowledgeable, super friendly, owner run local business - but don’t expect high tech (why would you need to be to run a canoe hire?) so if you book online at last minute, ring to check.
Dave went above and beyond when I left my watch in the life jacket pocket, and he checked through hundreds of pockets when I turned up on his doorstep sad that I’d lost my watch.

With a group of 15, we did a 2 night paddlefrom Albury to Howlong. Dave was very helpful in the planning phase. Very knowledgeable. Super friendly and helped to accommodate our inexperience and changing plans. A beautiful part of the Murray too.

We had the most scenic and relaxing experience kayaking 12km down the Murray River. Dave, the owner of the business was fantastic! He drove us up and dropped us off to a scenic point from where we kayaked down with the current! He also took photos off is in the water! Highly recommended!!!

Great service and the whole family rated it a 10/10 experience. Our kids are 6 and 7 and they loved it! We took water pistols and had a water fight between canoes. Such great fun!

Unbelievably awesome thing to do on the river. Murray River Canoe Hire has been providing this unique experience for years now, with an impeccable record. I myself prefer the autumn paddle, and our recent Weir wall to Noreuil trip was stunning; so many birds. And kangas, and cattle.. and trees and hills... and bats, and the river of course. Totally chill and gorgeous way to see this area, don't deny yourself. And make sure you use this company, kind of the original and the best.

Not being a Canoe or Kayak owner but having friends who enjoy a river run from time to time...Murray River Canoe Hire is one of the best ways to experience it.

You meet at the park to start the bus journey to Doctors Point where the Canoes/Kayaks are unloaded, safety equipment provided and a bit of tuition for those not in the know...then it's off to enjoy the river.
