Stayed here for a couple of nights and across our whole tassie trip this was really a highlight. Camp-site was incredible spacious and well kept, with the natural environment intact around it. Manager was nothing short of lovely and accomidating, and facilities were well kept including hammock and relaxing swing. The walking trails are just amazing and incredibly informative, they're absolutely worth walking even if you're not staying the night. Saw an array of local wildlife including some very cheeky pademelons which were really delightful if you defended your dinner properly haha. Only wish our stay was longer!

What an amazing serene retreat.
We absolutely loved our stay and just wished we could have stayed longer.
Michael was so accommodating when we needed to change our travel dates.
We stayed in one of the Teepees which was perfect for the 2 of us.
We encountered lots of wildlife and a cheeky possum who followed us around a lot, even trying to get into our teepee.
The bush bath was a real treat and the camp kitchen was perfectly decked out with everything we needed.
The road is quite steep and rough in places so best to have an AWD or 4WD to make this trek easier.
We will absolutely stay again and recommend this place highly.

A perfect place to get away from the city. We stayed in the streamside cabin and loved it. I'd just suggest having some dry leaves or humus available to use in the compost toilet. We highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.

My favourite place to escape from the world for a couple days. The campsites are private, the toilets, showers, and camp kitchen are clean and well maintained. There’s some beautiful rainforest walks and even an outdoor bath and hammocks to star gaze in! It’s only 40 mins from Hobart. There’s a sheltered social area with a fire pit. I even got to listen to a lyre bird yesterday whilst sitting by the fire. Also! Check out this green mushroom! It’s a very good environment for any novice mycologists!

Booked a teepee for a one night couple’s retreat and the place was extremely cozy, quiet and romantic. The interior of the teepee was quite dated but really comfortable and cozy, especially with a storm outside and hearing the rain. The check-in was a breeze and the place was easy to find.

The communal camp kitchen is decently stocked with utensils, cutlery and even has a lockable fridge.

Things can be improved: I recommend warmer lights in the teepee as the fluorescent LED was very glaring and harsh, fairy lights can be added around the interior, an update of the furniture and curtains, and possibly provide a Bluetooth portable speaker instead as most people use that nowadays. The pathway solar lights aren’t working, and the “curved” water tap with the water filter did not work. The outdoor bath was quite dirty with leaves and twigs and could use an update.

Overall it was an excellent stay, will definitely come again.

Our stay at Huon Bush Retreat more than lived up to the promise of relax, explore, experience, nature! We took in the beautiful views and fresh air and relaxed deeply in the luxurious amenities of the eco cabin. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and spectacular views of the rain forest. The cabin has a beautiful balcony and outdoor bath for taking in the beautiful views and listening to the local bird life.
We explored the short and long walks of the rain forest and experienced the intriguing flora and abundant fauna. The trek would not disappoint anyone for scenic value of rain forest and Mount Misery. And nature spoiled us with beautiful summer days.
Staff were friendly and helpful ensuring we had everything we needed and answered all our questions.
Its perfect location, its not far from Mount Misery, Huonville, Hobart, Bruny Island....
Its highly recommended it for a good choice of accommodation and I will definitely come back.

This was a great find and was perfectly located for our wine tasting and hiking adventures. The walking tracks nearby were a terrific addition and we did them a few times. Pamela was lovely and even helped us organise some local travel and transfers. It’s 4km of dirt road leading into it but the cosy eco lodges, the views (and the outside bath) definitely make it worth the trip. Highly recommended.

I had the most wonderful time at the Huon Bush retreats for my cousins 40th birthday festival last weekend. I stayed in one of the teepees and it was very well appointed! Comfortable bed. Lovely fireplace inside. Veranda. I even had reception! I was toasty and warm with all the blankets they provided too. Great camp kitchen for us all to share. I loved the outdoor bath!! Wonderful walks around the campsite as well as up to the waterfall and lightning tree. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my stay! Pamela was so accommodating and took very good care of us all! Absolutely highly recommend this wonderful place to stay. So many options... Camping, Tipi, cabin, house! Everything you could need depending on your requirements and interests.. something for everyone!

I had a birthday weekend at Huon Bush Retreats. I cannot speak highly enough of Pamela and Mick the owners and also of the absolute beauty of the place. It is unique and wonderful. The outdoor baths are so relaxing and special too. As are the many feathered and furry friends. Will definitely be back

A wonderful experience within nature. Certainly a more Tasmanian/Australian feel to glamping, the grounds offer the feel of camping with a hint of luxury having close by amenities and kitchen facilities (we stayed in the teepee). The owners were lovely and I always find it a nice touch to see the owners of places like this about and recognise the hard work they must put into the place. During the evening we were able to meet the paddy melons who were very comfortable with the public and the possums who were eager to get into anything that might be food - the owners gave us a heads up about this. You will see some creepy crawlers too however that’s the beauty of being amongst nature. The teepee certainly looked a lot nicer than the photos posted online which was an added bonus.

Luxury in a secluded bush retreat complete with an outdoor bath and furry visitors. Loved the luxurious touches in the soft furnishings and the candles, and the very comfortable bed. Can't thank Michael enough for accommodating us and making us feel so welcome. What a treat.

very nice place for camping or glamping!
All clean and well maintained. Friendly owner but we're you come for; the walks!
The hidden falls are close and have informative shields about water and forrest.
The big walk to mount Misery is nice, 4 different landscapes in one walk.
Go and grab a coffee and nibbles at the awsome summerkitchen in Renalagh, it's only a 10mins drive.
have fun!

WOW
This place is so amazing.
After staying there during our Christmas break we came away relaxed and content.
The picturesque rainforest, short hikes and animals jumping around everywhere was my highlights.
I would definitely recommend this facility and hope to go there again next time I’m in Tasmania.

Huon Bush Retreat was an absolute treat! We were 11 people of various ages staying in 2 separate cabins. The cabins were spacious with plenty of room (beds) for our crowd. We made happy use of the walking trails and the area was a great place to make day trips from.
We were all mesmerized by the wildlife. The wallabies and possum that basically lived just outside our back door, as well as the lovely birds all around. The outdoor bath was good fun as well.
I would highly recommend this resort. It is perfect for the young as well as the young at heart.

Paul was an amazing host! Loved the eco friendly stay with 12v power, solar, composting toilet, open fire, Bush bath tub, etc. Bush walks and lookouts a treat! Home away from home. Haven’t slept so well in years! The wildlife are abundant and love humans. Kids loved it too.

Lovely and secluded camp sites, staff were more than happy to help with charging portable electronics, toilets were clean and tidy, showers were fantastic after a day of riding, on our first night we saw a spotted quoll! Lots of wallaby's and a fantastic view of the stars at night (no light pollution).

My only gripe was I had too much luggage on the bike and couldn't get up the hill the first time but subsequent times were fine, just gotta keep the revs up! (600cc sports tourer, newbie rider)

Affordable tent site. Michael was super helpful and went out of the way to help us. Will recommend 100%

One of my favourite places I've stayed. Beautiful spot with lush forest, birdlife and walking tracks (a sunrise walk up to the plateau is so worth doing - see pics). Paul and Michael were deadset champions, amenities super clean, nice tent spot. Perfect place!
(Steep road shouldn't put you off - the steepest bits are concreted, it'd be doable in a 2wd in low gear)

Had such a great experience in the tipi! The owners are super lovely, we got there late and they had our fire going to warm the tipi up for us. Awesome wildlife roaming around and it's in a beautiful location. Would definitely stay here again 😊
