Very cool and inspiring idea, Land Rover on a pole? Also, visited at night

The one and the only. A tribute to the developers of the past. Developers these days are not worthy of celebration.

Its hidden among the gum trees so not really visible from the highway.. we missed it first time round while i was shotgun .. then grabbed a coffee and walked back using google maps to locate it 🤣

More than just a car on a stick. Interesting history surrounds the old landrover. And it looks like if you could get it down, it wouldn't need very much work to get it going again.

So much to see in Keith, we walked the length of the main street and found a fantastic play area for the little ones, a centurion tank, remnants of the old railway station, land rover on a pole, original settlers cottage, skate park and a yummy bakery. Great place to stop and get out of the car. The community has great pride in their small town.

It’s a land rover on a pole. As advertised.

At the time of my visit it was a lovely day, but prior to that the area must have had a fair bit of rain, because the surrounding area was a bit soggy underfoot.

And as I'd parked my car down the road a little further away I'd also stepped out onto a limestone area of the street, so getting the sloppy residue onto my shoes. So be careful where one parks.

The Landrover on a pole is adjacent to a children's playground area.

Most landrover owners are used to seeing their car on a hoist, although this one is a little different.

Why's a Land Rover on a pole? They asked the bloke that put it there and he said "If you sat it on the ground, It wouldn't look real good, so we stuck it up a pole". Now that's what I'm talkin' about >:D

Interesting memorial for Land Development.

Why anyone would rate this iconic landmark less than 5 stars, I couldn't tell you. The park is in well kept condition and has a skate park next to it. Parking available. Great for a photo and a pit stop. There is a story as to why there is a Landrover on a pole but you will have to read the information at the sight to find out.

This truly is a defining landmark of our time. Land rover on a pole has and always will be an incredible icon of Australian culture. The question isn't how it got up there, it's why isn't there more like this, were they purged by aliens? The government? John Swan? We will never know for sure, but we can cherish this historic masterpiece for all of eternity and count ourselves lucky for being born in the same era, as landrover on a pole

Unusual but very attractive. I actually turned around and went back to see it.

A very cool and interesting monument to a section of local history, sure to catch the eyes of travelers passing by. It's quite nice to see an original Land Rover about town.

Looks good and look at the rust in the chassis it may not be there much longer
