Facilities are great! Camp kitchen is well equipped and clean. Toilets and showers are done well. Bush showers I loved but for the kids a normal shower too. Wildlife everywhere and the bird life was wonderful to see. The happy jacks (birds) were a great source of entertainment except for the 6am raid on our table but that was mostly our fault.
Highly recommended. Family friendly. Bird watchers heaven. Lovely country. Can't wait to do it again.

Can not rate this place highly enough! The grounds themselves are beautiful. The owners/ managers are so kind and friendly, the rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped. Honestly, it does not get much better than this! What a little piece of paradise. We can’t wait to go back again. Thank you Ian & Lyn. 10/10 👍🏼

It was a wonderful experience all together, Lyn and Ian the owners are just amazing in every sense. We felt very welcomed, the facilities were such a surprise as the gardens look well maintained and alive, rooms are nice and tidy, campsites were really nice even for such a dry area as Chillagoe. We did the cave tours in town and the observatory tour in the lodge and it was beautifully executed, both as a couple did a wonderful job introducing us to the night sky and providing cool information about the universe. Can't be more grateful for running into this place, I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and insightful adventure up in FNQ.

Again thanks Lyn and Ian for making us feel like home.

We love the camping spots here! Camping area is spacious. It was quiet and starry at night. In the morning we're surrounded with flocks of Galahs, Apostle birds, and Redwing Parrots. We also appreciate the amazingly clean and comfy camp kitchen, toilet, and shower. Will bring friends here to camp again!

Love love loved this place!! Lovely folk who own the park couldn’t help me enough as I’d managed to trip on an errant shoelace and chip a bone in my wrist .. the observatory was closed as too close to full moon but all amenities were clean and great communal kitchen chats had ❤

Had a great weekend, camping site was good, far enough from other people you didn't feel in their pocket. Facilites where clean and staff nice !

Superb spot for non powered sites. Shady spots to camp in, uncrowded, excellent showers and toilet block, as well as bush toilets scattered around.

And on top of that you get an Observatory for seeing the impressive night sky (when not cloudy or a full moon) a great outdoor cinema and a very reasonably priced bar.

Recommended.

Lovely campground and very friendly & helpful staff. Located away from the main drag it’s quiet & has good facilities. Well worth doing the observatory if the skies are clear.

Didn't really research before we got here but on the way up north I started looking at some of the previous reviews and was wondering if I had made a mistake and considered changing our stay. Limited offerings up this way but I was glad I did not change.
We just tent camped, unpowered site, but it had fire pit and water tap next to us. Bush dunny and showers were fine but the main amenities block was a little further away and worth the walk. Camp sites had plenty of room and there was a great bunch of campers there during our stay. Great pool facility. Great value place to stay and I thought the amenities here were better than our stay at Undarra.
The observatory was not in operation when we were here, not sure if this was a covid issue.
Handy to know that there is a nurse very close by to the grounds as we had to pay her a visit.
I would definitely stay here again, loved Chillagoe.
Only issue with Chillagoe is the rubbish situation, the council needs to sort this out.

Reviews do not do this place justice. Considering how dry and miserable this part of Australia can be, this place was absolutely divine. Best ammenities I have seen this trip (I’ve travelled from Gold Coast up to Cairns and inland). Bathroom was spotless and was in a good location for the whole property. If you are further away from them there are “bush dunnys” and “bush showers” which are really nice if you are in a bit of a rush. The dunny barely smells at all and is in top top condition.
Pool is a lovely place to cool off on even a warm winters day and this place is next door to the Chillagoe Medical Clinic (nurse on call 24/7) which is a bonus.
There is an outdoor movie screening area where you can play movies every few days. Family orientated park and makes for a really nice stay.

Excellent camping location in Chillagoe. We picked a spot right out the back and under a shady tree. Bush toilets and showers were still close by, with the more standard amenities a short walk. Lots of spots to have a camp fire. Pet friendly. They have a big outdoor screen for movies at night. The camp kitchen has everything you need with fresh cool drinking water. Not too many powered sites so book ahead if you want one of those. The kids loved the swimming pool and the fairy garden.

A bush oasis in the dusty dryness.
A pool, a restaurant, licensed what more could I want!
Plenty of room to spread a camp out, or grab an air-conditioned cabin like we did.

EXCELLENT PEPPER STEAK in the restaurant!!!

Really enjoyed the observatory, and sitting around the firepit.

Like an oasis in the outback.
The Eco lodge allows you to relax and let go of all your worries in a stunning, picturesque outback setting.
The new rooms are very lovely and modern and have vital air conditioning.

The owners know all the sights and little swimming holes in the area so there is always something to see or do while you're recharging those batteries.

Spacious campgrounds with plenty of spots to choose from. A camp kitchen, showers, toilets, observatory, outdoor movie screenings and a large fire pit will surely keep the kids happy, and tired!

Will be staying here every time I come to Chillagoe.

Love this place, keep coming back. Serious renovations underway on cabins and professional kitchen. Quality all the way sure to please. Very friendly hosts Ian and Lynn who also conduct informative interesting sessions where looking through the telescope on a clear night is truly awsome, can't get enough. Resturant produces yammi food. Highly recommend.

Excellent! Informative, challenging, amazing! The talk was full of understandable information even though it boggled the mind! Looking at the stars and planets through a high quality telescope was outstanding. Enjoyed the whole experience even though at the end of it all you felt quite diminuative!!!
