Chillagoe Cabins and Tours

Absolute 5 star country service. We just had a fabulous three nights at Chillagoe Cabins and were blown away by the service we received. Wendy and Colin are so friendly and kind. Going out of their way to make you feel welcomed and looked after. The surroundings of the cabins are beautiful and even though there are four cabins on site and a large communal area you still felt like you were the only people staying there. The rooms are lovely and tidy, with everything you need for your stay. The local knowledge from Colin and Wendy was very helpful when deciding what to do each day. We will be back! Thanks for your hospitality.

My wife and I stayed at Chillagoe Cabins for three nights in May 2024. We found the place awesome in every aspect - the cabins were spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well appointed; the surrounds were spacious, picturesque and quiet; the breakfasts were superb; and Wendy and Colin were great hosts. Highly recommend.

Very neat, tidy, and well presented cabins. Very quiet with air-conditioning, good filtered drinking water, very comfortable. The grounds around the cabins are really well maintained, and the pool is great for cooling down.
Col and Wendy were fantastic hosts. We were served breakfast in the pool area, which made us feel very special.

We stayed there on Sept 9, somewhat unexpectedly, as the cabins and venue looked so enticing that we felt we had to linger in Chillagoe for a night. And so it was! The cabins were spotlessly clean, the bed comfy and the outlook private. The pool was sheer pleasure after a hot day amongst the limestone pinnacles and the breakfast (included in the tariff)... outstanding! Fresh fruit at the end of the line!!! (the bitumen stops at Chiilagoe, beyond is 500 km of dirt to Normanton). The owners Colin and Wendy certainly know hospitality and love doing it! Nowhere in a commercial stay over in Australia have we felt more welcome. Highly recommended.

Our 4 day 3 night stay in Chillagoe was made even better by the hospitality of Wendy and Colin. It’s the little things that make a stay great from breakfast around the pool, filtered water, bbq facilities and information sheets that enabled us to truly enjoy and explore this unique part of QLD. Would we stay here again ?- absolutely. Would we recommend this place to others? - definitely.

We stayed just one night in June. A lovely, clean, welcoming accommodation. Wendy and Colin are rightly proud of their little outback retreat. Highly recommended.

We recently eloped in Chillagoe and stayed at Chillago Cabins. We could not have been more impressed! The cabins are kept spotless, and are so cosy! I have never seen an outback accomodation in such good condition! The service from Wendy and Colin is unmatched and they take such pride in what they do. We loved every second and will definitley be back! Thank you for contributing to our special day!

We just stayed at the Chllagoe Cabins, and it is one of the best places we stayed at the National Park. It is cosy and yet roomy with beautiful decorations. The Cabin's outdoor is perfect for relaxing after a long day of caves exploring, with an added bonus of the under covered swimming pool. Wendy and Colin had welcomed us warmly and very attentive during our 2-night stays.Will come back in the near future.

Chillagoe is a hidden gem and the Chillagoe cabins are the ideal place to stay while you explore the area.
Cabins are decent sized. Excellent kitchenette facilities with everything we needed for a three day stay. Private courtyard with a quiet sitting space. Comfy bed. Well appointed bathroom. Hot showers :-) .
We also used the communal area during our stay for lounging during the day as well as for breakfast. Refreshing swimming pool was really appreciated during the hot afternoons.

Excellent place to stay, Colin and Wendy were such lovely hosts. Such great service. We were there as part of the Savannahlander train trip and we had a group of 7. They made the most beautiful home cooked dinner for us. I highly recommend anyone visiting the area to stay here.

We stayed at the cabins as part of our Savannahlander 4 day tour. Wendy and Colin were amazing hosts. The food was fantastic we were certainly spoilt. We were not expecting a 3 course meal which was delicious. Loved the undercover pool/dining area where we got to socialise with other passengers on our trip. Cabins were great with little added extras which are rare to find anywhere else homemade biscuits 🍪 and fresh milk 🥛 supplied.
We highly recommended a stay here thanks again to you both we had a great time. 😍

Went to Chillagoe for the first time with the family and stayed here.

Just have to say that both Colin and Wendy were great owner/operators, very friendly and easy going. The cabins and property in general were all well kept, clean and very comfortable.

The continental breakfasts was a smorgasbord of yum but I couldn’t resist the big breakfast (which is an add on) but as always I bit off more than I could chew, so had to downsize the next day. (Yes, I went back for more)

Will definitely stay here again if we go back to Chillagoe.

We had the most unexpectedly wonderful stay here! Wendy and Colin are such incredibly lovely people - the continental breakfast was beyond anything I expected. The rustic cabins were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. They had so much information about the town, what to do, the herds of guinea foul, and the story of the mysterious brick blew me away! Would recommend this lovely stay to everyone visiting Chillagoe ☺

Truly cant express how great this place is and how amazing the hosts are. Cabins are comfortable and the facilities (including a nice pool) and breakfast service have you covered. Collin and Wendy are so friendly, helpful, informative and genuinely go above and beyond! I have been recommending this place to everyone I can and will keep doing so.

The cabins are exceptional, all individual, a little rustic, great fit out - so comfortable, with beautiful linen. The pool at the end of a hot day was to die for, what a perfect way to cool off. We had dinner and breakfast there and the food was just great home cooked food. We did a tour with Colin who was informative and had a real passion for the place. Wendy and Colin are perfect hosts, and the place is absolutely magnificent when you consider what the area is like. Our mistake; we stayed one night, if you want to do the area justice, and your interested in our history and natural beauty, then you need at least two nights, preferably three. This is just one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in the country.

Colin and Wendy were amazing, they truly went above and beyond for our stay. The accomodation was clean with everything we needed for our stay. The pool area was clean and comfortable and a great place to relax on an evening with everything you could possibly need. Wendy went out of her way to organise dinner for us in the off season with the local store and the breakfasts were out of this world with the best table service for breakfast we've experienced in a long time. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are in Chillagoe or the surrounding areas.

Loved the privacy of our cabin and having breakfast by the pool while chatting with Wendy and Colin about the local area. My boy loved having a swim every afternoon. Our bathroom could maybe with an upgrade, but overall we had a great 3 night stay.

Had a wonderful night's stay here in very comfortable cabins with a group of friends as part of a Savannahlander trip. A delicious 3 course dinner by the pool then breakfast again in the morning, looked after by our friendly hosts. A guided tour of Chillagoe was included as well. Highly recommended!
