Texas Longhorn Tours

Lynda and Mick are great hosts and keenly passionate about what they do.
Fun to see these large, gentle beasts up close and learn about their history. Nice to give them a head rub too. Interesting to see other bovine species from North America, Africa and Scottish highlands and to learn about the breeding program in action here. Penny the kangaroo was very cute and friendly. Well worth a visit.

This was such a great half day! Linda and Mick do a fantastic job and their passion really shines through their work.
I found it very informative and I loved how close you could get to all the animals.
The property is beautiful country and has lots of nice bits and bobs to browse around after the tour.

Great tour, must do experience, great morning learning about these extraordinary animals and get to see some other rare cattle! ALL Up close! Plenty of light heartedness with loads of dad jokes keeping us entertained! Well done Mick and Lynda, thoroughly enjoyed this experience!

I’m not unfamiliar with farm animals but being up close to these magnificent beasts was an amazing experience. The whole thing was well organised and the moreish slices and home made cookies for morning tea was enjoyed by all. Thank you Lyn and Michael. You obviously have a passion for what you do.

We spent the most amazing morning today on the texas longhorn adventure.....Mick and Lynda have done an awesome job. Very interesting and informative but mostly we had alot of fun. Mick's jokes can be corny but you do get a laugh. Lynda's lesson in the breeding process with AI was interesting and her morning tea was delicious. Can only say great things about this place....make sure you go if in Charters Towers.

We visited and did the the Safari tour today. Mick and Lynda are wonderful hosts. This is such a unique historic experience.The whole property is kept in top condition and is a credit to them both. The morning tea with the home made goodies is delicious, thanks Lynda😋. But the best part is jumping in the buggies and driving and walking amoung the awesome Longhorns . This is a must do when in Charters Towers.

We were told by a couple who had travelled Australia that Texas Longhorn Tours was easily the best tour they had been on in the country. It did not disappoint and lived up to that recommendation. Mick and Lynda are lovely, the tour was informative and the Longhorns were amazing. Even Mick's jokes were funny 😂🤣 JR's Gallery was incredible to see. Very highly recommend coming to Charters Towers to do this tour.

Well worth a visit. Run by Mick and Lynda, just impeccably presented, the long horns are amazing so docile. Loved the whole experience and the commentary was hilarious.

The information about the breeding, history was excellent and being able to see these wonderful animals up close was excellent. Amenities great, morning tea and all of the historic artefacts as well. We did the Safari tour in the buggies with our two children aged five and eight. Kids loved being the buggies and patting the longhorns. Our tour guides were knowledgeable and entertaining throughout. After the tour we looked through the gift shop which has a great collection of unique gifts. We also looked through the new JR gallery and saw the impressive horns. Finished off with a delicious morning tea, it was such a great way to spend a morning.

What a great experience! To begin with there was a video giving the history of the breed. We then took to the jeeps for a closer look at the beasts. The tour was informative and very interesting. It was exciting to get so close to these beautiful cattle - we were well supervised too. As well as cattle there are American Bison and Water Buffalo.
Smoko was served and 'supervised' by a cute pet kangaroo.
This really is a must do as it gives an insight into the hard work that takes place behind the scenes on a station. Don't hesitate to book this.
