Amazing place to be at sunrise or sunset (as I was)! Try he view goes for the champagne pools all the way to the great sandy cape in the north. Also seems to be a great spot for fishing. There are a few remembrance plates of people “gone fishing”.

Waddy Point campground is one of the best camp sites on the Eastern side of Fraser, and at $6 a night each great value. It's fairly easily accessible by 4x4, India Heads now has tracks put in, and the tracks were in good condition while were were here.
There is a ranger station here, although it was closed - think he was out and about a lot of the time.
The facilities are excellent - toilets and showers are really clean. They take $2 coins and are $2 for 3 mins. There is free hot water for washing dishes outside the toilet block.
The site is close to the beach, you can walk or drive, with fishing and wash outs the kids can swim in. The sand dunes give the kids hours of fun.
Plenty to explore in this part of Fraser. Five stars.

Waddy Point top camp is fantastic. Great facilities: $2 (3 minute) coin operated hot showers, camp kitchen for washing up with hot water, amenities are always clean and the Rangers are friendly and helpful. Taps are close to every site so water is not a long walk. Access tracks to beach are great to walk on and there's lots to explore. Deffinately recommend the walk to Waddy Point headland and over to the Eastern Beaches, it's trully fantastic. Watch for whales in August/September, you won't be disappointed. Sand Monitors are the only animal within the fenced site that wander around, and Butcher Birds, Friar Birds and Blue Faced Honey-eaters, Kookaburras and Frogmouths are around too. Most sites have their own fire ring and timber picnic table, and are fairly level and clear. All-round an excellent spot for any sized group and kids too.

Such a prefect place for a holiday.
Easy 4wding and an easy atmosphere. Fishing is a bit hot and miss, but still better than a good day in the office.

Great place for a swim. Best to go close to low tide as it creates ocean pools with sandbanks rising in the middle. Kids love it there as they can stand up with no waves.

Loved this place. Camp fire allowed in pits. Sunrise on waddy point headland is spectacular. Heaps of whales breaching, dingos on the beach. Took young kids (2-6yo) they loved it, heaps to do. Favorites - champagne pools snorkeling, waddy point beach- boogie boarding down sand dunes and the rock pools, light house walk. We towed a 1300kg pop top van in with an Isuzu MUX, got stuck a few times in the very soft. Drive at low tide and use local knowledge, you'll be fine if you have recovery gear.

If you walk up the headland and begin to make your way to the top you can walk down to a secluded beach through an area of rocks, the beach is fantastic and well worth the short climb and decline over the headland

Highly rated and fenced so safer if you have kids. Facilities with $2 hot showers which gives you 3min/coin. Fire pits available and sites have decent shade.

For those who haven't visited recently, look at how recent storms have washed away the beach. One can no longer drive to the headland. What used to be a wide beach to the headland, has been reduced to nothing. This makes it difficult to even walk to the headland at high tide.
