Kermond’s Hamburgers

These would have to be the best hamburgers . From the great service from when you walk into the shop to the end product . It's absolutely awesome. Do yourself a favour try these . It's is worth the 2.5hr travel ro get here .

Visiting from out of town and so glad I came across this little gem.
Unbelievably good old fashioned service by enthusiastic and hard working staff.
Excellent food cooked fresh to order. And the chicken salt on the chips.... wow, so good.
There should be more places like this.

The single best dining experience of my life. The staff were warm and welcoming especially the fine young gentleman that served me (his name was Darcy). The food was delicious and I could tell the ingredients were high quality. The cook (who was named Sam) did an exceptional job even when adding my special request of a potato cake within my burger. Nothing more I could of asked for amazing

Homemade Hamburgers the way they are meant to be. Loaded up with beef, egg, bacon and onion. The buns were fresh and the whole burger went down a treat. The chips were also amazing. Hot and fresh/crispy. Will definitely be back!

Have been trying different burgers around town, and in my opinion, the burger with the lot, beetroot, and lettuce added was a great traditional burger, even with no cheese. The service was fantastic, with the order even on a busy night, supplied very quickly. The price was comparable with other the other burgers I tried. Fish shop burgers were cheaper but smaller.

Me and the boys are from Melbourne and are working away here, upon discovering this establishment we haven’t eaten anywhere since, the burgers here are some of the BEST I’ve had in my 23 years of life, highly recommend the steak sandwich

Best chips and burger in town! Must try!

I live in Melbourne and my work colleague suggested this place. So I drove over 300kms to try it out 😅. I ordered THE LOT. I must say it was the most tastiest burger I've had in a long time and properly the best rural burger I've had....PERIOD. Staff were well mannered and helpful. Loved the burgers so much! A traditional smash pattie with onion on the grill made from scratch in a soft white bun. Definitely ask for the free added lettuce and beetroot! I wish we had a Kermonds where I live 😢 every burger place in my town serves their burgers on brioche, which I really dislike. Kermonds’ service was so friendly and efficient. I loved watching the 7 cooks at the grill.

For fast food, they serve a good burger. You definitely can’t compare it to the gourmet type burgers from restaurants but this was still worth trying. The fact that it also has an old school concept also makes it an experience. Would recommend trying their burgers if you’re in the area!

The strong performance of Kermond's was, however, the real surprise. Especially as Lava Street, Warrnambool, is hardly a high-traffic location - unless you are comparing it to the Oodnadatta Track. Still, they collected more nominations than the next two country places (the Igloo Roadhouse in Buxton and Stella's at Seymour) combined and came second only to Danny's.

For 60 years, five generations of the Kermond family have worked in this bustling genuine retro shop, producing that wonderful old-fashioned variety of hamburger you thought had long gone. What started in a caravan on the foreshore in 1949 is now a Victorian institution, considered among the most popular tourist attractions in the state. On the international scene, a Kermond’s cheeseburger is considered the ninth best hamburger in the world. On a busy day, 35 casual and six full-time staff produce 50 dozen burgers, cooking everything to order from scratch. And the secret ingredient: premium Western District steak, minced and blended to a specific recipe from local Lucas’ Butchers, who have been supplying the beef since day one – around 12 000 kilograms a year.

Best burgers in in Warrnambool, this rustic place is genuine. The food is delicious.

We had chips, a burger with everything and a drink, less than half the cost of the city.

The burgers do truely taste great.
