Always a great time here at the bath house. Clean facility, good control of the amount of ppl they take daily. Lots of different pools to choose from. My favourite is to finish off the whole experience with the herbal sauna and then go for some yummy food. Food on site is more pricy than a normal restaurant ($35+ for a main like rice or noodles), but quality is very good making it more acceptable. We ordered curry beef rice and the beef is really good quality. Also the pork noodle is so yum too.

This place is beautiful and meticulous. Manicured gardens, the service impeccable. Thoroughly clean and have strict hygienic protocol. A large variety of baths set up on the hillside overlooking lake lyell. Had a massage and spend a couple of hours using the facilities. It's pretty pricey but the experience was wonderful, would do it again

Amazing customer service the moment you arrive. We had the private bath experience which was really nice. The staff were always making sure floors weren’t too wet and cleaning the place. We ate afterwards inside where the food was tasty but small portions and fairly overpriced. However, we did go there for the bathhouse experience and not the food so I am not too fussed. The little sleep pods were so useful as the hot water does make you fairly tired fast haha, wish there were more of them around. Would really recommend this for couples or anyone looking to get away for a relaxing experience! I would definitely want to check this place out at night to see the stars!

I've been a regular here for quite some time, even before they renovated the place. The cleanliness is top-notch and the staff are always professional. I did notice a slight increase in prices during the public holiday, but it wasn't too significant. I would suggest visiting earlier to avoid the crowds.

Loads of hot baths and pools, herbal sauna was the best. Just missing a really cold plunge.
This place would be ideal during colder months.

I had a complete experience at this Bath House. First, the price here is reasonable. You basically get what you pay for. Service is top-tier. All the staff and friendly and nice. They do keep this place very clean. There’s always a person going around mopping. Second, the vibe here is super Zen. You’ll feel relaxed as soon as you step into then place. I’m quite pleased with the settings and the baths. Get massage package as well. I mean how often do you really come here. May as well get then combo! Third, I must say there’s not alot to do after 1 hour. They should really add more temperature zone. However, I still highly recommend this place! You’ll like it.

Lovely place to relax and have a wonderful hot spring water with multiple different sizes of pools. Cave pool, individual pool, big pool, cold pool, steam herbal sauna.
Remember to book the appointment via email before 6 weeks, pay when you are here. 3 hours cost $190 for 2 people to enjoy their facilities. The driveway is quite dangerous if you drive in dark due to no road light and narrow winding road.
You can bring your own foods or snacks in the car for bag and keep in cabinet as the prices of foods really expensive. You can go out to eat in your car if you feel dizzy or hungry.
Take a short shower before start, need to wear swim suits and bring own big towel or bathrobe to keep you warm when you move around. It is better to bring another towel to use after finished the bath before leaving.
They provided slipper to use and take home after finished, free water proofs bag to carry things with you if needed. There are 2 drinking water stations with paper cups, have one is need to pump quickly for water to comes out. Changing area and rest area have heater to keep us warm.

Plenty of spa baths to choose from. My favourites are the cave baths and the herbal sauna and cool bath afterwards. There are many lovely staff at your service. The tea room with some Japanese snacks is also nice and relaxing, though pricy.

Just as we expected and more. My partner and I booked the private bath experience and the three hour bath house entry for our anniversary. Well worth the money. It left us feeling rejuvenated, relaxed beyond belief and like we had been truly pampered. What a beautiful experience.

Amazing experience. Service was polite and friendly. We also booked for a massage and it was extremely professional and relaxing. They only allow a certain number of guests in the facility at one time so it was reasonably spacious and peaceful. Everything was explained very thoroughly during the tour upon entry. Would love to come back!

Wonderful experience. I went to a later session and worried it might be cold. Instead it was enchanting as the lights came on. I feel wonderful after the mineral baths. So many different experiences to try.
I also tried the Tea Room. Very delicious food and the Harmon Tea was lovely. It was a little scary driving out in the dark, though it’s only a short while and your back on the main road.

Best massage I've ever had. And they have the best etiquette. You won't be dissatisfied at the Japanese bath house. They are great for couples , families and friends. They also have a great restaurant where you can eat your lunch or have morning tea. 🩵 This place is a must visit.

We went during a cold and rainy day and it just made the bath more warm and cosy, lots of undercover places to laze around in. 3 hours was enough in my opinion, I'd only recommend you eat before since the food is expensive ($40) they give you free thongs and a waterproof bag. Staff are very nice and attentive. Very intimate and romantic place and traditional, clean. Like you are transported back to Japan.

Brilliant, the service and attention to detail was very high. From the moment you walk in you are treated as if you’re special, the various pools are fantastic and the staff take time to explain everything, the location, overlooking Lyell Lake is breathtaking and the landscaping within the property is brilliant. The only 2 negative comments are that the massage isn’t long enough, you must at least include a 1 hour massage, the other thing is that we bought a voucher for the value of the package at the time, due to COVID we couldn’t go until now so the charged us extra because they have since put their prices up.

We have been twice for a three hour bath experience and a one hour massage treatment. It has been the best discovery yet especially on a freezing winter evening. Magical. The food is excellent quality and staff are super efficient and trained.
