Mediterranea Restaurant

Great large reasonably priced harbourside restaurant/cafe able to cater to vegetarians, vegans and gluten free (GF) folks.
I never do this...
The place was slightly less busy than its other restaurant neighbours, all of which share a pretty low Google rating. With so many great GF options and reasonable prices, I decided to take a chance.
FOOD: Great quality and reasonable dish sizes. With options spanning from burgers, fish, pasta, pizza to salads, varied entrees and desserts, coffee's and alcohol. Our waitress was very aware of coeliac needs (cross contamination risks). They have gf pasta, breads etc.
PRICING: Sides from $6 through to entrees around $12-20 to mains around $20-30.
**They seemed to have more genuine GF options than any of the other places (that mostly offer up oysters, olives or a salad as there entire gf offering.
STAFF: Really lovely, efficient, attentive staff. 10/10 - whoever hired them, you did well!
LOCATION: Right on darling harbour with complete accessibility for those in wheelchairs, with mobility issues, large prams, dogs etc. They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating options, easily fitting 50+ people at a time.
OVERALL: Would recommend. Biggest highlight were the lovely staff.

Super lovely restaurant with fair prices and a nice view of Darling Harbour. I shared one of the pizzas (spoiler alert, the pizza was delicious) off the happy hour menu and the deal comes with a drink so my spouse got the house wine which I did sip and it was quite lovely! I personally had the stress-free cocktail and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Definitely would go back!

Overall quite tasty food despite having a large menu. Great portion sizes and good service too. A little touristy but don't let that deter you if you're in the area and looking to sit down and eat. We had lamb, pasta, and chicken and it was all good. Would recommend.

Amazing food. We were staying in Sydney for 8days and went to this restaurant twice. Food is delicious and friendly staff

Had breakfast and dinner here and both meals were very tasty. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and very helpful.

Came here twice in a row! At first you walk by and see it with less customers and then you give it a try and the food is great and the price is good. A great spot to relax and not have to deal with over crowding. But the best think this place has going for them is the staff, super friendly and very welcoming. Good place for family and young kids. You need to get a beer bazooka and a few shots of vodka and your set for a party. The entree and finger food to share is perfect for a night on the harbour. Highly recommend their Less Stress Cocktail too, great taste. Well done staff, keep your head up high - your doing an excellent job.

Stopped at Mediterranea for dinner on a whim while passing by and was very happy with our meals.
We had lamb ragu and a starter of chicken wings and both were delicious. Generous enough servings that both of us well fed well. We even ordered a take away pasta for a friend to enjoy.
Great service by all wait staff, well deserving on a 5 star rating.

My Partner and I visited for Breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday of our Darling Harbour weekend trip.
The food was on point, I had the Hearty breakfast on both occasions, my partner had the bacon and eggs on the first occasion and had the waffles with bacon and eggs on the second occasion. The quality of our food was fantastic, our only suggestion for improvement is that my partner suggested the waffles really needed a scoop of ice cream or maybe some whipped cream as a “recommended additional side”, and that I felt that the “large” takeaway coffee cup was actually a “regular”.
The kitchen was surprisingly quick, the staff very friendly and attentive, the pricing for the breakfast menu was very very competitive.
I’ll definitely be eating breakfast here again in the future.

Loved this place. Good food, great courteous staff and breathtaking view of d Harbour.

Great dinning atmosphere. Kind and attentive service. Was given a perfectly balanced margarita. My waggu steak was cooked to perfection. The host went to the trouble of recommending an excellent cab sav to pair with my main meal. Water bought to my table for my little boy with only the slightest eye contact required which is rare.
With all the pretentious over priced restaurants in Darling Harbour do your self a favour and please give these guys a try the value, service and food is exceptional. Not to mention the laid back cosy atmosphere. Creme brulee' absolutely to die for! Well done.

Beautiful place! My boyfriend suprised me with this restaurant and I loved it! Will 100% be coming back. Great location, amazing and friendly staff that would always check on us and were always aware with customers ensuring we would have the best experience possible. The food was also absolutely amazing, meat was cooked perfectly with great flavours, nice and juicy too. The happy hour cocktails were also amazing and at such a great price. Overall a great restaurant with no flaws amazing food and service will 100% be coming back. Thanks guys!

Excellent service and great food! One of the biggest issues with all restaurants around darling harbour is the sea gulls. As soon as my food was served a sea gull landed on my table and attacked my food. The staff quickly ran over and without hesitating replaced the entire meal. Will definitely be coming back

I loved their seafood platter not to mention their "Stress Free" cocktail. Margarita was alright 🤣.
Prawns are super good, might be good to go for a walk after. But a nice place to set up a fantastic night after!

Came here one night with my partner to grab some dinner, they were starting to close the kitchen but checked and allowed us to sit and have our meal. We ordered the lamb ragu and the boscaiola which were both incredible and the best pasta we've ever had. We came back another night and saw the lovely people who served us again. We had the ragu, the duck and a lamb pide to share. Everything was incredible, the portions were great, the red wine jus was to die for. We had a few cocktails which were fantastic, especially the blue hawaiian. Absolutely stunning customer service and wonderful atmosphere. Many thanks to the lovely bartender and waitress who made both of our experiences phenomenal. Will absolutely be back when we come to the city again. Don't trust the other negative reviews, I beg you. Mediterranea was our best dining experience to date!

The staff are fantastic!! We really enjoyed our meal and the view was great. The fireworks over Darling Harbour an added bonus. Your staff deserve bonus’s ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The staff were very friendly, and helpful. The waiter that served me accurately described the two meals I couldn't decide between, and helped me come to my decision. I ordered the wagyu rump which was nice, and my friend ordered the crispy skin salmon. She enjoyed it, but wanted it cooked slightly more, and the restaurant gladly cooked it more for her.

Absolutely perfect breakfast and coffees. We had the Tazzy Salmon with a side of scrambled eggs and the Veg breakfast - they were both spot on. Amazing view with outdoor seating and great service. It wasn't too busy on a late Saturday morning. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and coffees. Can't wait to visit again!

I celebrated my 30th birthday here and it did not disappoint! Food is amazing, ambiance is nice and the people and customer service are superb! Very attentive and caring! <3 I would definitely go back here and would highly recommend to friends and fam for some good Mediterranean cuisine! The asian lady was so lovely, she even asked me if she could give me a hug on my way out! You never get that anywhere! Just an overall lovely experience for me and my friends, so thank you :)
