Yakiniku Yokocho

Yummy meat, very tender. Price is reasonable. We come here many times. This is one of my daughter’s highly recommended restaurants. Staff are very nice.
Only one thing we concern is Yuzi ice cream and lavender ice cream are not longer available. We were looking forward to those ice creams each time we come here.

Just came from a tour, went straight to this highly acclaimed yakiniku. And boy! It did not disappoint!
The choiced Kobe boneless short ribs, premium short ribs, LA short ribs, outside skirt - were all soo soft, tender, and melts in your mouty goodness!!
Dry seaweed rice soup, fish and tofu nuggets, karaage, and downed with the refreshing Yuzu lemonade- what a combo!!

Best Japanese bbq in towns. Great portion variations, tasty drinks, and good quality rice. Also cheaper than lots of other Japanese bbq places and yakitori places. Will come here every month!!

ordered their boneless short ribs and pork ribs. the pork ribs was so tasty, i love it🫶🏻 the service was excellent especially the cashier! she offers customers another level of service. she’s very friendly and polite! love the service as well as the food here.

I personally found this place bit expensive especially with the side dishes lettuce cost around 4.90, where as meat dishes prices is reasonable and decent portions of serving compared with other BBQ.

Good food, good customers service, the staffs all welcome with smile, I also like the decoration, feel like in Japan. Nice!!

It’s my second time coming here (which speaks a lot about the place). The venue mimics the narrow hidden alleyways (yokocho) in Japan. There’s always a queue to get a table, so recommend to make a booking (90 minutes dining time) if you can plan ahead. If you order 4 Side dishes ($7.95 each) the 5th one if free. My fave are the Ox Tender Stew & Chicken Karaage. Definitely must try the Wagyu Beef Rib Finger marinated with Wasabi $20, Garlic Outside Skirt $22.80. Prices are reasonable for the quality & quantity, 5 of us spent $280 for a generous feast and (alcoholic) drinks each. Will come back for sure!

One of my favourite places for grilled meat! Though the queues looks bad sometimes hut its usually only 30-45mins?In terms of food, the Yuke, ox tongue and ribs is a must try! The drinks are also nicely flavoured (more towards sweet). Cash payments were 10% discount.

A very good place for BBQ with reasonable price in CBD. The wagyu beef dishes are tender and juicy, and are perfectly marinated to eat with rice. The side sauce however not really impressive, but over all it's a good place for BBQ. The service is fast and attentive, and the restaurant has private spaces for groups

Amazing Japanese BBQ with quality fresh meat and yummy side dishes. I recommend the rib eye beef, ox tongue and yuke. Could do better on the zucchini portions otherwise very quick service and lively atmosphere. There is a queue during peak times so be prepared for a bit of a wait but it’s worth it!

Definitely a quality Japanese Barbecue place! Looks authentic and taste authentic. I like the shop design, which has drawn fair amount of crowd here.

The premium beef (tendon loin) are great but the normal grade ones (ox tongue) are impressive enough too!
You get the 5th side dishes free when you order the first 4. Portions are just fine.

Really happy with the meat quality! The OX-Tongue and WASABI beef were the champions. Will definitely come back for some more.

An incredible atmosphere and wonderful place for Japanese bbq! The meat was high quality and so soft. The staff were mostly Japanese too which I appreciate. There is no buffet option so is good for groups who don’t want to eat too much!

Great spot for couples or large groups. The meat was decent, good cuts and fresh as you'd expect. We ordered a number of different meats and shared it amongst ourselves. Hood variety of drinks to quench your thirst.

Similar to a Korean BBQ, this is a great place where you can put your cooking skills to the test. If you are lazy or simply no good at cooking, you can just order a set where the meat is already cooked for you. I have tried both ways and the food was excellent here.

What stood out for me about this restaurant is that they have good quality meat as well as a good range of offals like intestine, liver, tongue that are great for BBQ and go well with alcohol.

TIP: There is a very unique matcha-flavoured beer from Kyoto that is a must-try.

Booking in advance is essential to avoid long waiting time although this food was definitely worth the ~20 mins waiting time. My favorite is the yukke and I always feel like one bowl is never enough 🤤 the beef finger rib and ox tongue are also recommended!

I am a big fan of yakiniku and this was the first restaurant I tried in Sydney. Definitely worth a visit if you would like to try Japanese bbq.

Meat quality is exceptional!

Loved visiting! They have amazing marinated meats especially the MUST TRY boneless beef short ribs which we ordered twice. It's delicious either accomodating staff, lovely atmosphere and delicious food. The only downside is the price but it's worth it for celebrations and with larger groups! Also be sure to arrive early or book as it can get quite busy. (The pork ribs are also pretty good! )

No matter what I order I am always happy with my meal!
We just went after lockdown finished and it was busy but service was great too. Highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat Japanese barbecue:)!
