Zest Chargrill Chicken

Today, we accidentally discovered this hidden burger joint. The hard-working staff and the owners were so friendly in guiding me and a couple of workmates on what should we order. I always thought that for a nice Portuguese Burger 🍔 I needed to visit one of the outlets of a fast food joint, but I was very impressed with the quality of food, Portuguese sauce, generous quantity of chips ( something not to be missed here!!!!) 😋 This is a must try outlet

I saw a couple of salads and mouth-watering full BBQ chicken they were sending for catering, which I am going to try next time I am in the area. I heard other customers also talking positively about the experience. I am glad I was able to find your outlet and keep up the quality and lovely smile team, Zest, as this was your difference for making our lunch experience awesome!!!! Didn’t think it was possible to make the Portuguese chicken wraps better than the old owners did but somehow they have nailed it! Chilli sauce is as great as ever (always ask for extra), chicken was cooked perfectly with some crispy bits, lettuce was fresh and wrap perfectly made. Added a small chips and chipotle Mayo dip, both delicious - chips had a perfect crunch. Some other reviews have been pretty scathing but they are just people resistant to change.

My recommendation is give the new owners and their workers a chance, seems they have found their groove. It’s not easy taking over an existing business and deliver it like for like. Plus supporting local shops is so much better for the community!

No complaints from me at all and I’ve been coming here for 6 years.

The new owner has made consistent efforts to bring back the quality across all dishes. The roasted chicken, burgers, club sandwich and salads never disappoint. If you have stopped going there, give them a chance, that's worth it.

Great takeaway. Burgers are awesome. Better than Oporto. Chips are top shelf and there are phenomenal salads. Only downside are the burger buns. Damper buns go stale. Need to go back to sesame rolls.

We had an excellent experience. We had a 70th birthday catered. The food was beautiful with many of our guests commenting on how lovely it was and asking who did the catering. The service and advice was excellent nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend Zest at Wareemba.

Have heard of the top notch eats here.. I was persuaded to get the Portuguese chicken burger.. a few chips & a beetroot quinoa salad (my choice).. it was all mouth watering!! Totally nom nom nom ☝

Why the heck would you eat at McDonald's when can get burgers like this for comparable price.

Hands down best burger place in the area and one of the best I’ve had in Sydney. Chicken is always fresh and never dry. Chips are really good too!

Zest Abbotsford is our “go to takeaway” when we are short on time. They have hands down the best gravy ever (which goes well with their chips!) and the best philly shaved steak onion provolone rolls. Do yourself a favour and just order one. My husband likes their Portuguese burgers. The team that serve us are always friendly and efficient. We get takeout / Uber from them at least once a week.

We’ve lived in Wareemba for a year now and we LOVE Zest Chargrill! The habenero burger is our absolute favourite - the spice in the first bite always gives us a hiccup or two! It’s always fresh, the burger itself feels healthy and nutritious. The Portuguese is perfect for those days where you don’t want too much spice... The salads are always great combinations and great portion sizes!
Matt leads his team of really friendly staff, who always look like they are enjoying their work!
I recently got Zest to cater for my husbands 35th birthday - it was awesome! Everyone commented on how good the food was! And great value! Will definitely do this again for future celebrations.

Great free range takeaway chicken shop. The new owner Matt takes a lot of pride in his food and is very friendly, and the decor is pretty funky for a takeaway. I'm yet to try them but the salads look delicious - much better than anything you could get elsewhere. The roasted vegetables are great, very much home style - the only problem is that they often run out.

Stand out is the Pulled Pork Sandwich. Matt told me the pork is slow cooked for days, and it's marinated in his own American ribs style BBQ sauce which is AMAZING. On a light sweet bun and with coleslaw. I'd eat it every day, but something that tastes so good just has to be bad for you.

I'm a reluctant to give away this little secret, but it seems unlikely it'll stay secret for long.

Great roast chicken shop. Awesome range of 'modern' salads not just the usual Caesar, Greek etc. Great hamburgers/steak sandwiches. Has some basic outdoor seating but recommend taking away and walking a few minutes down the road to have on the foreshore. Well priced - and fills the local 'takeaway' niche very well. Also does catering.

Best chicken and burger joint around. Meals are always super fresh and the staff are friendly and fast. Great takeaway to stop into when I'm in the area for a quick meal at lunch

The chicken is excellent here. Full of flavour and not greasy. You can tell it’s fresh. This place does innovative sandwiches and burgers that are packed with ingredients and the prices are extremely reasonable. Highly recommend

Habanero chicken burger to die for! The food is consistent and with good service and a friendly owner who is ready to chat and tell you all about “ The Reaper” burger, there’s even a waiver to sign off. I’ll try it one day, until then very happy to stick with my current go to. Eat local peeps!
