Chon Siam Thai Restaurant

Affordable authentic Thai restaurant in the city. The boat noodle is about $6.5, however I didn’t have it today. I had crab curry with rice which I love it. You can sit both inside and outside. Not very crowded and the food is super fast. Definitely come back again.

Dined at Chon Siam Thai and had a wonderful experience. The Soft Shell Crab Pad Thai was delightful with a generous portion and especially flavorful rice noodles. The Tom Luert Moo, a clear soup with pork, blood jelly, garlic, and celery, reminded me of hometown dishes-perfect for a warm winter meal. The Kao Moo Dand (BBOPORK), featuring roasted pork, a boiled egg, and sweet soy sauce over rice, was authentically delicious. Plus, the prices were super affordable. I will definitely be back.

Fantastic and authentic Thai little place in the heart of Sydney. Not fancy but the food is great, comes out super fast and it is very reasonibly priced. A+++

Food is delicious, freshly made and served hot. The portions are very generous for the price. I can’t believe that a bowl of noodles is only $6 in the city!
Boat noodles $6:
noodles are chewy, broth tastes nice and warm with pieces of meat and meatballs
Soft shell crab $10:
Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Served with sweet chilli sauce.
Soft shell crab is such a great way to enjoy crab! You don’t have to crack open shells to enjoy the meat.
Pad thai with chicken $15:
The noodles are chewy and the peanuts on the side definitely took it to another level. Chicken breast was used, isn’t juicy but still tender.

The restaurant is pretty small and doesn’t look too nice, but it makes the atmosphere very special.
Staff are nice too.
Definitely a must try!

The crispy soft shell crab is amazing! Probably the best one I’ve ever had. Pork tribe is wonderful, with the combination of light soup base and tender pig blood jelly, love it.

Good value, I would give 7 to the food, 9 to the price

I don't need a word It's the same taste as Thailand. It's more delicious than home tie in the city.

The most authentic and delicious Thai street food ever! Pad Khee Mao and Boat Noodles were terrific.

My favourite place since I was a student ! The food was tasty, location was convenient, cost was beyond amazing. If you want a late night snack, this might be the place. 2-3 mins from the time you placed the order, you will have a hot bowl boat noodles soup, perfect for the winter ! The staff was friendly, the place was cozy and nostalgia, highly recommended!

I’ve frequented this restaurant for a few years. The boat noodle soup is an essential, it should win a Michelin star for its flavour and price point. Can’t find better anywhere else in Aus imo.

Seating is a tad uncomfortable but I understand because it’s a small spot so they want to turnover faster. But that’s perfect for the city lifestyle.

This place is famous for their cheap $6 boat noodles - just right for a snack or quick meal!. I also like their $11 Chicken Rice - it's their version of Hainanese Chicken rice and is really good - tender and with a hint of kumquat? Be aware that they do run out of this around 1pm, so get it earlier if possible. Worth it.

Went here today for lunch. The food was incredibly tasty (especially for the price) and the service was very welcoming. 100% recommend. Try the Pad See Ew with Prawns.

I’ve been in Sydney so many times and especially with the fam this time. I love Thai food and have tried so many Thais places in Australia and ChonSiam is one of the best with tasty dishes and absolutely bargain for the quality, friendly staff, quick service. Highly recommended 👍

Came here for lunch two days in a row, definitely the best value Thai restaurant you can find in the city. Food is just incredible and staffs are friendly.

Cheap and authentic Thai food in the city. Tried Pad Thai with roast pork and Pad prik king fish with rice. The roast pork skin was a bit chewy otherwise was OK. The fish was crispy when served. The sauce was very flavourful and went well with rice. Overall experience was great. A must visit whenever we go city.

I ordered Spicy Noodles from here and it was great, the flavour of the noodles were really tasty and it was a good level of spice. The price was also very cheap, at only $14 for the dish

Yum! Stumbled on this place walking by and it looked like a nice small authentic place for a quick light lunch. Boat noodles were fantastic and we also had the pork belly stir fry. Reminds us of those small side shops in Thailand itself!
