Had very enjoyable evening with family here. Everyone absolutely enjoyed the food which was very tasty and flavoursome, great portion size and well presented. The atmosphere and service were excellent. Definitely recommend.

Highly recommend Essence of India. It’s the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. I discovered it a year ago and haven’t eaten at another Indian restaurant since. The food is always amazing, it’s so flavoursome and delicious. The staff are always so welcoming and accommodating and the owner is a beautiful, kind man. Everyone needs to go here

Had the chefs special Bangalore Chicken. Wow the best dish I have ever had!
Chicken was cooked as always to perfection and plenty of it too.

We ordered a takeaway last week. They were flat out busy, so the boss dropped it off when he finished. There was a small mistake with the amount of naan breads, he apologised and personally dropped off the exact same meal the next night at no charge! Amazing service and the korma was the closest to a UK korma I’ve had since I’ve been here. Highly recommend!

This place does excellent food, pricing is just okay, the service both over the phone and in restaurant could be improved. particularly when picking up orders, seems quite disorganised.
Otherwise, one of the best local indian restaurants.

Raj and his team are always accommodating with authentic Indian tastes, that don't all taste the same.
Prawn Jalfrezi is a must, and the 4 item entree is a great starter to have with friends.

Popped in for dinner on Sunday.
On first impression, the decor is a little tired, but the atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming.
The food was amazing!
Started with complimentary popadoms with a delicious slightly spicy mint yoghurt.
We shared the mixed starter, which came with the most deeply marinaded, juicy chicken tikka I've ever had and crisp onion bhajis.
The main curries had thick, rich sauces and the beef was absolutely sensational!
The waiter was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The chef (possibly the owner?) Came out to check everything was ok and give us containers to pack up our leftovers to take home.
All in all, a fantastic dinner experience and we will definitely be visiting again soon.

I’m updating my review as I have to confess I have had a few ‘patchy’ curries from here - usually pretty good but sometimes under par.

Tonight we ordered a massive feast and it was SENSATIONAL!!! Best curry I can remember. Outstanding! The lamb madras was beyond but all dishes were top notch. Thank you!!!

I believe this Indian restauranr take away has been here for quite some time and yet we were oblivious to it.

This is the second time we have had a banquet takeaway from here and both times they have been fantastic.

We do have our very favourite Indian restaurant in the Northern Suburbs, but let me say, this is a very very very close second.

The best Indian I have had in ages! The chef is lovely and everyone is very welcoming. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Amazing food and wine! we had the Korma, rogan Josh, Dahl and tikka.

My wife and her family have been coming here for years. It is our go to Indian restaurant! The food never disappoints. One major factor that makes this place special for us is the owner - Raj always takes time to visit our (and the other) table and say hello, ask after us, make sure every thing is okay. It makes it a personal experience and one we always look forward too. We always recommend Essence of India. A great guy and great restaurant.

We just finished our delivered meal from Essence of India and OMG!...best Indian we have ever had. Lovely big chunks of tender meat without all the excess sauce and veggies that other restaurants add to fill the container. Amazing value for money. For what we normally spend on a dinner has easily stretched out for tomorrow's lunch. Very happy customers. :)

i frequently go to Essence with my family. We always have the buffet. I honestly think the food here is the best. The choice is limited to 6 mains but always absolutely delicious and there's a limit to just what anyone can eat anyway! Highly recommend it. Raj is a delight too.

Best meal for a long time. Mixed curry off the 'chefs specialities' was wonderful (sorry can't remember the name) and the Keema curry knocked up by the owner was a delicious first for us in Oz. Restaurant was busy which is good to see as this is our local and we keep coming back despite trying over a dozen alternatives nearby. Service was as shocking as always but that's all part of the charm for us. Excellent food this week resulted in Curry Safari score of 82%

Everything was awesome from the beginning till end. Loved the food it was so so tasty and generous portions size. Warm welcoming hospitality by all the staff 👌

Had the buffet which was amazing. Usually sceptical about the buffet dishes but they were loaded with meat. I have a nut allergy and and they made my own separate portions. We also had a visit from the chef which was nice and they had peroni beer on tap on special for $5 a pint! Def going back
