Universal Bar

Held my 60th birthday there last week. 100 people. Everyone was so lovely and helpful. Beth and Ian, amazing. Beth even helped bring stuff back to my car afterwards. An unforgettable night - thanks Universal; you were so easy to deal with and everyone had a great time.

Great place, even for someone in her mid-30s! Great music and vibe all round. I didn't expect to like it but here I am with a smile on my face, remembering a great birthday in a great place with great friends.

Universal Bar!! Put on your dancing shoes, always a wonderful time. The energy, the vibe, the atmosphere is perfect! The staff are lovely, drinks on point! Music is point!!! It's a must and you are guaranteed a great night out! The crowd is what can I say.... UNIVERSAL!!!

This place hosted our social Halloween Party again, and they didn't disappoint!
They decorated, they dressed up and they cooperated with us throughout the night. The staff were absolutely amazing and deserve a medal for their hard work!!

It a nice place with an awesome atmosphere. I love the bands especially almost where evening. It's also very inclusive and diverse as am of African extraction. Never faced any kind of discrimination there.

Absolute great night out!! Bar staff are amazing and the security boys throughout the venue know what they are doing and keep everyone safe. Great people and great place!! I encourage everyone to come along and have a great Friday and Saturday night.

I really love it there. It's a little quiet during the week but the something lipstick cocktail is delicious. Seb makes it the best.

Had a private party upstairs. Great staff. Food was high quality and the area was perfect for the about 60 guests

Great bands and a good older age group

I had my graduation function here and it was really great. Most of the staff were fantastic and it’s a cosy little venue

Beers in range of $7~$9 jugs around $23~$25
Good atmosphere but better to go early to get a good seat otherwise have to stand and it s abit tiny in room size

anytime we’ve had an issue (whether it’s with another patron being VASTLY inappropriate, or with our drinks not tasting the best), they’ve always had a solution for us. resulting in us always leaving happy. and we come here all the time now. staff are great, very accomodating, and are very attentive to making sure we have a good time. one manager remembered us after a patron was super disgusting to us, gave us free drinks next time we came in, and remembered us the next time we came in (also escorted out the dude straight away). very pleased. would recommend. also it’s just a great place to have a dance on a weeknight

This place is an institution. It’s been around in the heart of Northbridge since I can remember and was around for years before I ever set foot in it. Live bands plying all the current hits and oldies you love every night. Great drinks and pub grub. If you’re looking for a fun uncomplicated night this is the spot. Ask for Jason he’d love to say hi.

Universal bar has a new virtual tour, I highly recommend to stop by and meet the great staff who work there and enjoy there great atmosphere, they even perform live band there, sitting outside they have byo out front with gas lit heaters right next to Northridge

A great small place for a catch up with friends or work colleagues.

Came here for Fringe and saw comics perform in the upstairs terrace. It was a great location and an awesome show. The downstairs bar is spacious and the service friendly.
