Ningaloo Discovery Whale Shark Tours

One less experience in my bucket list and I’m glad that I choose Ningaloo experience. First of all the good reviews speak loud, second of all I will be another person that will leave another 5 stars review. The booking online is very easy and simple: you can choose which experience suits you better otherwise you can visit the kindly girl at their office. They offer a pick up and drop off location at designated camping, but you can choose to met them at the port. The staff will give you the wet suit and the other accessories. After a quick and easy briefing you will jump in the water for your first swimming. After that.. I will let you discover it by yourself! You won’t regret it. The whales sharks and the others sea animals that you will find along the day, they will make your day! Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea were good.

Fabulous: catamaran tour was the best choice! Swam 5 times with whale sharks, staff was adorable, food was great and we even had a glass of bubbles at the end of the day!

Absolutely amazing experience. Got to snorkel/ swim with 5 Whale Sharks. The entire operation was so professional and well run. Holly in particular was exceptional and an amazing photographer.

Absolutely amazing day out. We saw plenty of whale sharks as well as lots of other marine life. The staff aboard the catamaran were fantastic and the food provided was delicious. Would 100% recommend this company for your whale shark swim adventure

Our whale swim with Ningaloo Discovery on their catamaran exceeded expectations. We enjoyed 4 swims with a 6 and 8 metre whale shark and two snorkels where we spotted a huge variety of small and large fish, rays and coral. Engaging, friendly and highly professional crew with a clear concern for safety, marine welfare and ensuring all of their customers have a fantastic experience (and are very well fed!) Conditions prevented sailing on the way back but big and small kids enjoyed the rope tow while we watched on with a glass of bubbles in hand. We did the whale shark tour with the catamaran (Windcheetah). The boat was absolutely amazing, my only regret is that we didn’t actually sail on the way back despite very good conditions (which is actually why we chose to pay more for the catamaran).
Apart from that: 5 star rating for all the crew, they were absolutely amazing, instructive, caring, friendly… this was an unforgettable day in every way and we even got to swim 4 times with the whale sharks.
The bubbles at the end were a great way to celebrate ;)

Ningaloo Discovery is a great whale shark tour operator, respecting the marine encounter guidelines and rules. The briefings were detailed for the beginners, but still succinct for the more experienced.

All the staff were thoughtful, kind, and passionate about their craft. Each worked together to make for a really enjoyable day on the water. The photos shared were also of excellent quality with the photographer working hard to ensure we all got our photo with a whale shark (at least all who attempted to keep up with the animal).

The Marlin board also had a ladder for those who needed a different mode of water exit which was great as upper body strength waned throughout the day.

Had some trepidation about using this company as they weren’t so visible on various web searches & research we did in Exmouth. Can forget that now. We had one of the best experiences of our lap with this team. The 4 girls (Liz, Kelsey, Holly & Claudia) were incredible hosts & the whole family had a blast. Not only did we swim with whale sharks but food & transfers were also excellent. Can’t recommend highly enough. Many thanks!

What an amazing experience that was made even more magical by the patient, knowledgeable, and passionate staff! We know we did the whale shark tour early in the season (March 6th), but the team worked hard to calm our anxiousness and find a whale shark. They are also respectful of the whale sharks - which is the most important part! We were so lucky to see whale sharks and have the team take photos of the experience. We appreciated the hotel pick-up, information about the town and animals, and short boat trip to the beautiful snorkel spots. Hands down the best time we had in Australia, and we will never forget it!

Our expectations were high and well met. We got to see 3 whale sharks and we where able to swim with them 5 times in total. Smooth punctual pickup. Interesting and informative briefings. Good food including morning tea and snacks, lunch, afternoon snacks and a glass of celebratory bubbles. We look forward to see the photos from the day. A big plus is that access to all photos are included. Lovely atmosphere among staff and customers. The awesome crew of the day was Dickie, Josh, Aron Holly and Lizzie.

Today we had the absolute pleasure of touring with Ningaloo Discovery. It was very clear that the crew love what they do and their enthusiasm was contagious! We were able to swim with the only whale shark around on the day and enjoyed the beautiful food and a cheeky glass of bubbles before being returned to our accommodation. Would highly recommend this crew as they were fun, professional and just super great to have around. 5/5 experience for us, THANKS LEGENDS!!!!!

This day was just amazing!
The crew was so passionate, the food was great, the boat was clean and we went to swim with the whale sharks for 4 times which was way more than we expected!
We would definitely go again with Ningaloo Discovery.

5 stars doesn’t cut it. This was an amazing day out. The staff were just as hyped as the guest and that really made the day. Everything was incredibly organised and very safe. They made all guest feel welcome and comfortable whilst swimming with the whale sharks. We had 3 different sharks and spent an amazing amount of time in the water. We was also lucky enough to get a manta ray. Food was good and glass of bubbles at the end to top it all off. The inclusion of photos is also a massive plus. Huge thanks to the team!

The most amazing day.
We were late in the season so only got one swim with a whale shark but it was one to remember!
The staff tried super hard to get us a second swim unfortunately it didn’t happen but we still had the best time!

Saw so many hump back whales and even a southern right whale.

Absolutely amazing organization and execution. The "training" snorkle was great to get acquainted with the equipment and very shortly after getting in open waters, we were swimming with Whale Sharks. Countless encounters and minutes with the gentle giants. Plus, you get the professional pictures for free. It doesn't get any better than this.

Wow! That's all I can say. China, Claudia, Ash and the girls in water - we couldn't have asked for a more fantastic day. They went above and beyond in absolutely every part. Taking young kids aboard an experience like this is always a slight risk/challenge but not today. The Discovery girls were fantastic with our girls, the swims and the whale sharks - once in a lifetime! - and we are so grateful. Thankyou all again!

Highly recommend to families as this was the review I was looking for when booking. It's a short day out and our 3 and 5 year old were kept entertained on the boat with all the antics of off/on/off/on following the big fish. I rang around to many companies in the region and Ningaloo Discovery offered the best tour to accomodate us. Just do it!

Perfect experience - they kindly moved me out by a day due to my son not feeling well. So only I made it, and given being a non swimmer the crew - Gloria Holly Kristy and China (the skipper) they all did everything to have a great experience of swimming with a whale shark. Highly highly recommended

Unforgettable experience run by wonderfully professional and friendly staff. Captain Dickie provided some welcome comedy relief to keep us grounded during this surreal experience.

We did a last minute booking of the sunset whale watching on the day itself because our snorkeling activity was cancelled due to bad weather the day before.

Whale sightings were not guaranteed but thankfully we managed to spot the whales from afar. The weather was great and sunset was beautiful. I enjoyed my time on the catamaran, which was spacious for everyone to sit comfortably on. A glass of sparkling wine and cheese board were served by the crew.
