My best friend and I were looking for a place to eat, and it was getting late. I did a quick search on google and this restaurant came up. I called in ahead to ask if it was too late for us to come in, and the lady was so sweet so we rushed over. We were greeted the moment we entered the door.

We were seated and served. Everything was simply delicious, the food was gorgeous both in presentation and in flavour. Our service was excellent. Very warm, friendly and inviting which is exactly what you want on a cold rainy night! I will most certainly be coming back to Kampong Boy again, and I'll be bringing my family with me! ^_^

Great service, authentic Malaysian food - yummylicious!
All authentic Malaysian food especially the delicious Hainanese chicken rice, satay, nasi lemak, char koay teow and so much more.
Been an ardent customer for the past 8 years at least.
Even the drinks are authentically Malaysian - dinosaur Milo! You were expecting me to say teh tarik right? These are all real Malaysian taste.
There're street parking right outside the restaurant - convenient.

Really yummy curry chicken. Authentic flavour and the nasi lemak was good flavour without being too rich. Side condiments were right on the mark. And they know how to hard boil eggs properly - no grey bits at the edge of the yolk.

Def will come again!

I absolutely love this place. It has become my go-to for authentic Malaysian food. The satay is second to none and their fried kway teow and curries are outstanding too. I had their CNY Four Seasons Platter tonight and it was such a wonderful mix of flavours. The perfect place for our CNY reunion dinner.

AMAZING! I ordered chicken laksa, satay and kampong boy chicken rice, all very authentic and reminded me of when I used to live in KL! The girl taking orders was soooo lovely to talk to and I can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu! Selamat Hari Raya :D

Authentic dishes. Great care and passion reflected in flavour and presentation. Great staffs --> Cos of great management. Customer services were beyond ordinary. The bosses take their time to know you (beyond just the name). I moved interstate, but when i visit Sydney again, I'll try to come back here for something. Miss coming by here once a week. :P Anyone (including Local Guides) who don't give this place at least 4 stars, don't understand nor taste the sometimes subtle and delicate, and sometimes strong and overwhelming, flavours in different traditional Malaysian dishes.

My favourite go-to place in Hurstville. The Beef Rendang, Satay, 3 Layer Tea, and Teh-tarik were the best we've tasted in Sydney so far. We recommend all the menu if you're craving for Malaysian food. In addition, the staffs were also polite and attentive to all of their customers.

Kampong Boy delivers amazing quality food at great prices. We had the nasi lemak with beef rendang and coconut rice, achar pickles, roti, Assam curry fish and rojak salad, and everything was incredible and filling. The service was really fast also, with food coming to the table in less than 10 minutes. I definitely recommend!

It's the only place in town that serves Malaysian and it provides all the favorites from a country that is the melting pot of several of its neighbours.

I just adore the SATAY BEEF & CHICKEN STICKS - like old street snacks you found in Malaysia, except their Satay dipping sauce is mega chunky and extra nutty which just adds that tiny bit of oomph to this oh so popular dish! The FRIED PORK CHOP LAKSA is a spectrum of tangerine, which isn't as heavy and oily like many Laksas I've had at some other places. I love the mix of textures with the crunchiness of the crushed biscuit coating the pork to the fresh bean sprouts! Have to say as good as the ASSAM LAKSA (Mackerel Fish) was - I definitely liked the pork the best. The slow cooked BEEF RENDANG passed my meat test. Running the knife lightly along the grain of the meat. It falls apart like a sandcastle being washed away by the surf and tastes a million times better with the coconut flavour and mix of spice paste being completely absorbed by the meat! Amazing.

The small casual dining space is comfortable and homely as though you're stepping into the homes of Chef Wayne and Co-Owner, Amy who treat their staff like family and their clients like guests in their own home. A great little getaway from the strip dominated by hotpot places and yum cha where you are completely immersed in the real cuisine and culture of Malaysia!
