We were staying across the street from this Westfield shopping Centre and had a good experience at Newcastle with rooftop dining which we don't have in Queensland. Well it is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been too. Fast, friendly and excellent taste. Could not ask for more. Cannot wait to go back again next time we are in Sydney.

We went to Lilong in Hurstville and the taste of the food is amazing. We like our food a bit spicy and the selection there is great. We had: Sticky Rice Dumplings dipped in a Soy / Black Vinegar sauce with a bit of extra Chili which taste great. Then Steamed Pork Buns (same sauce) again great taste. Pork and Chive dumplings (same sauce) goes really well. Chili Beef in hot wok is an all time classic and very tasty. The Shanghai Turnip Croissant was not my favorite taste but my company liked those. The pan fried Pork buns are very nice but you have to be careful as they are piping hot. Better let those cool down first and bite carefully as they are filled with sauce which goes everywhere when you are not careful ;-). The spicy sliced pork belly with mushrooms is just divine and so yummy you want to order a second portion straight away. At last we had the Ma Po Tofu and I usually don't like Tofu but this one is fantastic nicely spiced and mixed with pork mince.
The restaurant is wheelchair friendly as they can just move chairs around if required. Better make a booking on the weekend in the evening as it can get pretty full there. This food is more for people who love a more authentic taste, not the Europeans version of Chinese food which usually is less spicy and includes more sugar. We ordered the above listed items for 3 people and it was just the right amount for everyone to be full (any more and we would have needed doggy bags).

It seems everyone in my family had been to Lilong but me. So l finally went there. A great restaurant tucked away on the roof of Westfield Hurstville. I can only be guided by the smiles and by the looks of the other diners they were really enjoying their food. My daughter and l shared the pork dumplings for entree (which arrived after our main course arrived...but this is "normal") which were delicious. The daughter had a prawn noodle dish that was very good and l had the traditional kung pao chicken. Well the kung pao was amazing...easily the best l have had in the past 5 years. Service was fantastic and the meal was a very reasonable price. Overall you would literally doing yourself a favour going there. Very Recommended.

My go-to place for Shanghainese dishes! Everything was very flavourful and cooked to order.

Some of the standout dishes were:
> Deep Fried Buns w/ Condensed Milk - iykyk ;)
> Sizzling Sliced Beef on Hot Plate - the beef was super tender
> Shanghai Turnip Croissant - super super flaky pastry with shredded turnip filling... the best thing ever

I wouldn't recommend ordering the Barramundi in Sweet & Sour Sauce though as the fish itself was very dry and the sauce didn't have that wow factor... once you've tasted the real deal from the restaurants in shanghai you can never go back : (

Always has the best food. Love their Grilled Mushroom in Wok Tok.. ❤ The spring onion pancake.. And the fried veg rice without egg. These are my all time fav dishes. They are always busy. Customer service is very good. They are easier to communicate. I highly recommend this place for chinese cuisine.

YUM!!!
Up at the rooftop of westfield, LiLong is definitely one of the best looking Chinese restaurant in Hurstville.
Absolutely mouthwatering chicken in chilli oil, very tasty sauce, would be nice to have it with cucumber and noodle!
The 4 colours dumplings are - yellow is chicken, green is prawn and the other two white ones are beef and lamb. All of them are very yummy & juicy. Totally Exceeded my expectations.
Lemongrass porkchop with rice is quite nice too, the porkchops were deep fried to perfection and not oily at all.

I’m a regular customer, the reason why I keep coming back is because of the affordable price and delicious proper Shanghainese food! I often order extra to take away for work the next day! Great place for family dinner and dates!

Love the food here, we come regularly. It's not the cheapest place but the food is excellent. Great dumplings made on the premises, good service. It's always busy but never too difficult to get a table (it's worth booking).

Most decent Chinese restaurant in the area. The soup dumplings and pan fried dumplings are the menu that makes our family go back and forth to the place. I dont blame any service since im not expecting a good service from asian restaurant. Its cheap you cant get good service and good food in the same time.

Had couple of take aways from them. My favourites are pork pun dumblings, prawn and chive and the wonton in chilli oil which is not chilli but still nice. It’s nice even when it’s takeaway!

Great place to get some well made and tasty dumplings. My friends and I always have dinner here. Staff are friendly and efficient and the indoor decor is on point and lovely.

Also very strict with COVID19 (masks, sanitising, social distancing, vaccine checking) which is greatly appreciated

I really don't understand the negative reviews on here for Lilong. I've always had amazing and fast service and the food has always been exceptional. The same as taste of Shanghai but a nicer atmosphere and less cramped. Their shallot pancakes are the best I've ever had. I can never go past their pork buns and dumplings in chilli oil! Yum!
