Delicious Chinese Food in a bustling busy restaurant with a nice ambiance. Fast service and great variety. Favorites were the soup dumplings, chicken spring rolls, chili oil dumplings, crispy skin duck, salt and peppers prawns and spicy fried rice. Only thing was we should have ordered in two lots ( staggered) as a lot of food came out at the same time and hence the crispy skin chicken was cold by the time we got around to eating it. Good service seeing it was packed on a Saturday night.

Amazing flavour experience! I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. So this is the taste of Shanghai :) The food was fresh and hot. The grilled crispy lamb dish was flavoursome and visually appealing. Great themed fit out. Friendly service. It was a warm and welcoming experience. A great place to wind down after at dinner after a long day work day. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended especially for flavoursome food.

This place’s always busy at dinner hours whenever I pass by and today I finally got to try their food. We didn’t wait long for a table and we were seated outdoor.

Their steamed barramundi was fresh and flavorsome and the flesh was so soft. I’d say it’s the highlight among the food we ordered.

Their salted egg yolk prawns were good too. The size of the prawns was decent and each of them was nicely flavored with salted egg yolk paste.

The pan fried pork buns were quite delicious too. They’re juicy with the soup fillings and the pork inside was nicely complemented. The Chinese broccoli wasn’t bad but I found it too salty with oyster sauce. I could hardly finish it.

Overall this is a decent place for Chinese food. I had a pretty decent dining experience.

One of my favourite places to eat in Sydney. The food is always so good. And the price is reasonable considering how much food you get per plate/order. We always leave with so much leftovers. While everything is delicious we really love the duck pancakes and sweet and sour fish

Fabulous food, and reasonably priced.

Loved this place so much that we ate there twice despite only being in the city for 6 nights.

The Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) were phenomenal. The beef dishes were sublime and the crispy fried sweet and sour whole barramundi was fantastic. Salt and pepper king prawns were also excellent.

Highly recommended!

A pleasant experience at Taste of Shanghai each and every visit. We shared Xiao Long Bao, Pan Fried Pork Buns, Spring Onion Pancake, Braised Barramundi, Peking Duck with Pancake Wraps, Stir Fried Noodles, Yangzhou Fried Rice and for dessert Mango Pancake. Every single dish is savoury. Good for sharing, with a fair price. Located in the center of Darling Square at the back of Chinatown.

Food was ok and fast the service was good. Great atmosphere. Only that the chilli oil does not taste spicy at all. But over all it was a good experience.

If Consistency is the key, these guys have a full keyring.
Very good quality dumplings, as expected.
Dim sum is great too.
Also there is plenty of choices if you are going all out.
I have been so many times I’ve lost count.

Great food and great service . Had the wonton in red chilli sauce. King prawns in chilli sauce. Stand out surprisingly was the chicken fried rice in xo sauce….So good. Spring rolls great. Only down would be the mango pancake. Although it was good it wasn’t as fresh as I’ve had and it would be a 6/10. The other food a 9/10. Service a 9 out of 10. Lunch had finished when we got there so atmosphere a bit flat but decor great . Hence the 3 stars for atmosphere
. Will be back.
Only thing I didn’t like was the size of the menu….A BIT OVERWHELMING 😳🙈

Venue was very nostalgic to old Hong Kong times. Staff friendly enough.
Food was the best part. All dishes were delicious but my personal favourite was the mango pancake - Was very generous on the mango and filling.

A vibey restaurant. Delicious Chinese cuisine. So many great dishes. The Baramundi fish dish was so flavoursome. I loved the deep fried tofu and the fried Dumplings. An extremely busy restaurant - long queues but once you get your table service is fast and you don't wait long for all your dishes to be served. Service is friendly.

By far my new favourite place to get dumplings! This place is perfect for groups to share and try dishes. I’d specifically recommend the pan fried pork buns and Xiao Long Bao (001 & 003). I also particularly appreciate the swift and efficient staff that could anticipate customer needs.

What I liked:
- quality dumplings
- food came quickly
- efficiency service

What was unique:
- ordering form
- eclectic decor

Been here many times both dine in and takeaway and never leave disappointed. We usually get a variety of dumplings/dim sum but we tried the sticky rice dessert last time which was amazing! Highly recommend

lilong Shanghai food, I really recommend it. It tastes the same as another brand天同,even the decoration is similar. But the location is too crowded, not enough seats! Xiaolongbao and Shengjianbao are recommended. The taste of other dishes is similar with天同!just in China Town, so if you wanna try a good Shanghai foods,it’s a good place.

This place is always packed so I highly recommend making a reservation. Ive been to quite a few lilong/taste of shanghai branches and they never disappoint. I absolutely love their steamed vegetarian dumplings and xiao long baos. They have both indoor and outdoor seating as well. Would recommend this place for its dumplings.

Went at 3pm so there was no wait which was great! Quick service and super cute decor. Definitely over ordered (story of my life) but all dishes were delicious and came out in a timely manner. Mint lychee drink was so refreshing and Peking Duck pancakes were definitely the favorite. Also recommend the Cucumber - great palate cleanser. Will be back!
