A late lunch for two, stumbled across The Colour Patch on a drive through the Margaret River region. Beautiful view, reasonably busy when we arrived but friendly greeting and prompt service. We had the grilled squid which was fabulous, delicious yellow curry full of fish, asparagus with whipped feta. Shared the peanut butter and banana ice-cream which came with a sublime cinnamon toasted marshmallow. Wow!! Food and view were fantastic, service was lovely too. Walk right along the river afterwards and check out the view and the mini methane bubbles. Perfect afternoon stop!

An easy walk from the Caravan Park & a great location on the river mouth. Food was great, service good & prompt. Beers priced well but wines expensive.

HBH and friends celebrate with a birthday lunch. Stunning views of the Blackwood River, Hardy Inlet. Friendly staff, very helpful concerning special diet. Large restaurant but surprisingly not too much noise. Fascinating bar, shaped as the hull of a boat.

Aside from flies, the food is one of the best food we had in the entire journey. Especially the snapper & chip and tiramisu!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Colour Patch on Albany Terrace, and I must say, my initial skepticism quickly turned into a delightful surprise. Being one of the few restaurants in the area, coupled with its offer of a 10% discount for attendees of the Albany Whale Tours, I wasn't sure what to expect. However, my experience with their food, ambience, and services far exceeded my expectations.

First and foremost, the food at The Colour Patch was simply fantastic. Every dish I ordered was a delight to the taste buds. Among my personal favorites were the Roast Squid and White Bean Ham Stock Soup, as well as the Yellow Curry. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, leaving me thoroughly satisfied.

The ambience of the restaurant was another highlight. Situated right beside the picturesque "lake," it provided a lovely view that complemented the dining experience. What impressed me the most was the spaciousness of the place, even during lunchtime. There was no sense of overcrowding, allowing for a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

The service at The Colour Patch was exemplary. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Their warm and welcoming demeanor added to the overall enjoyment of the meal.

While the food and service were exceptional, I did find the portion sizes to be a bit small. However, this did not take away from the overall quality of the dishes.

In conclusion, I highly recommend The Colour Patch at Albany Terrace for a delightful lunch after your whale watching adventure. The combination of delicious food, friendly service, and pleasant ambience make it a great choice for a memorable dining experience. Don't let its size or location deter you; give it a try and savor the flavors in this hidden gem.

Gluten free options! Best gluten free pizza base this side of Italy! Honestly, it was so good I had to check with the kitchen that it really was gluten free. Also had lots of other gf options including a delicious salted caramel/ peanut butter/ banana marshmallow creation. On top of that we had a window seat with an amazing sunset view, lovely friendly and helpful wait staff. And I thought the prices were reasonable too.
Pretty close to perfect evening.

This was a lot more than we expected, it's quite a classy restaurant with seating for around 100 with a full bar and great view.
On the other hand, there is takeaway pizza etc so you can take it across the road and enjoy it on the lawn overlooking the bay.
The food and coffee was great and on weekends and school holidays booking a table is recommended. Don't be fooled by the sign on the road saying" last eating house before the Antarctic "....it's very classy.

We went to The Colour Patch today, and can not speak more highly of it, nor recommend it more thoroughly! The venue, food, and the view are just gorgeous.
We were told that the venue was recently renovated... and the quality shines through.
Beyond the great setting - the menu and drinks list was diverse and encompassing of most, if not all, dietary requirements... and steps well beyond any sort of 'usual pub fare'! Also, the staff were friendly and efficient... what more could you ask for??
If you are in the area (especially after a visit to the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse) - you have to stop by.

Found this place by accident while touring the Hamelin Bay area, and very glad we did. Superb views toward the inlet where we actually saw dolphins playing while eating lunch. Super friendly service. Lots of sharing plates and great pizza. Just an amazing find.

The Colour Patch has the reputation of being the Southernmost eatery before you hit the Antarctics, even though I think you can get a quick bit in the lighthouse a few kilometres down. But we can let this one slide because the food is really good here. I really dig the nautical concept of the place to make it seem like the deck of a ship from outside in.

The portion may not be enough if you're looking for a huge feed, so just order more. There's a good selection of drinks here too, being next door from the wine and beer region. Plus, the views are fantastic outside. The staff was also accommodating even though we came without a booking.

So there's another pro tip for you - make a booking before you head here.

I don't often write reviews, however after reading some negative comments I feel the need to. What a beautiful restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and relaxing. Stunning views out large glass windows. Has a high quality feel about it. Restaurant was fully booked however staff accommodated us by finding an extra table. Food very tasty and good portion size. Will come back again.

Ticks all the boxes!

Could easily while away the day here for the beautiful view and cozy setting alone. But it’s a super friendly service and absolutely outstanding food that really seals the deal! I’ll be back as often as possible, we’ll worth the drive. I highly recommend the squid and what could be the best flat bread I’ve ever had!

Food was pretty good and the staff were really nice and friendly. Pizza was a little overdone, but tasted great. Sliders and prawns were quite small dishes, but definitely good. Big dining area, very pretty. Drinks were great also. Would definitely come back.

If watching dolphins play in the bay while enjoying a lovely wine and delicious lunch sound like a good combo, the colour patch needs to be on your itinerary. Beautifully perched next to the bay, the bright, airy and nautically themed vibes set the mood for a relaxing lunch. To continue the theme we ordered a classic fish and chips, Thai style fish and some oysters. The fish and chips were the perfect balance of crispy on the outside and fleshy inside. The Thai fish was sweet without being over poweringly so. And the oysters tasted like they’d been shucked straight from the bay. The combination of the view, food and drinks made the lunch an unforgettable one and one that we hope to repeat on our next visit.

We had the flat bread dip and olives to start. Prawn pizza and beef burger for mains. Everything was delicious, especially the dip! Service was great. If the weather was nicer, it would have been lovely to sit outside

Ordered the mushroom pizza. Delicious. Had the gluten free base made in house. Possibly the best gluten free base I’ve had on a pizza. Soft, fluffy and light. Ate the whole pizza to myself because it was so darn good. 👌🏼👌🏼
