Refuge Small Bar

A friend and I attended the bar on a Friday evening recently. One of many visits. It was consistently busy with a great vibe. The kind of place where people are chatting and clearly enjoying the atmosphere. The staff are extremely pleasant and efficient - always are. The toilets are clean. Very handy position there as my friend was able to leave the car at home and grab a train in. It's not a restaurant, it serves a nice range of modern bar food with vegetarian options and grazing boards. All at a reasonable price too when compared to other venues. A great little bar!

We recently had our wedding anniversary function at this amazing bar. Dave the owner was very welcoming and made the night special for us. The food and drinks were exceptional. Staff provided excellent service. This is a great place for any function. The mirror ball adds to the atmosphere too. Plenty of room to dance. Highly recommend this bar and we all had the best night.

13 of us met this week at the Refuge Bar.. as others have said .. it is not a Restaurant but they have great side dishes to choose from… and we had quite a few. The Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.A very happy vibe in the whole place..quite a few other Patrons .. and it was only a Tuesday night!

Visited Refuge for a few drinks and nibbles with friends and we loved it! All the drinks look gorgeous and taste even better! We also loved the pasta special. Cant wait to visit again.

Eaten at Refuge twice this week. The food has been top tier - one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I don’t mean posh, just excellent burger. Staff are super friendly and enjoy a chat. Amazing espresso martini too.

The daily food offers are also great value.

I love this bar! They always have FRESH BAKED FOCACCIA! It's in such a nice location! Every time my partner and I go to Subi for groceries or target, we always want to have their focaccia! We go every week and we do not get tired of their Steak Sandwiches on the focaccia nom nom nom nom!!

After visiting Refuge Bar many times for a Friday afternoon drink, we decided to investigate holding a function there. It was magnificent! The team at Refuge could not have been more friendly and helpful, from the initial inquiry through the entire event. Nothing was too much trouble. They answered all my questions quickly, made helpful suggestions and helped us plan and cater for the event within our budget (with no requirement for a minimum spend). On the day, they were helpful and attentive to our guests and made the night a great event for all. There were approximately 40 people at our event on a Saturday afternoon/evening and it was perfect for this size group. I would highly recommend Refuge for this type of function, or for Friday evening cocktails 🍹😀

I have been in the Refuge small bar afew times and tried different food all were good. Staff are friendly. food was good cooked.

Great bar with super atmosphere and friendly staff. Big selection of local brews on tap and very good bar food. Best wings we have found around these parts. One of my favorite bars in Subiaco. These guys always have the best beers on tap and their food is killer. Great meetup stop or for people watching as they are right at the train station. Buffalo chicken sandwich is a must have.

Great genuine craft beer list both packaged and on tap - decent prices too. Good staff, good food, super location. New favourite meeting place ..

This should be your Subi spot for after work drinks.. or anytime really! It's totally worth it!

We had our daughters 18th birthday at Refuge last night. Angus and Luana served us (approx 20 people). Their service focus was excellent. The food was also very good and overall it was a very good value for money night.

Great beer selection and the honey siracha wings a awesome. Easy spot right next to the train station but super chilled.

Great local small bar, located right near the train station at Subiaco. We've made it abit of a local after moving to the area from Melbourne, and really enjoy the small bar feel of the place. Have had the wing special on Wednesdays which was fantastic, as well as the pizza special on Saturday which was good also. They have a good selection of WA craft beers and wines.

Great beer selection probably averaging $9-10 a pint.

Burgers were tasty and reasonably priced for the area. We paid $20 for a burger, chips and pint.

Good atmosphere, but a bit loud inside due to the complete lack of cloth and lots of hard surfaces.
This just means no sound is absorbed

Outside is nice.
