Friendly service and decent quality. Would be good if the avocado toast had two slices of bread instead of just one.

A small gem in a great Ocean view town.
Highly recommend trying out the eggs Benedict selection (sour dough or croissant). The portion sizing is fantastic and is such hardy breakfast you might end up skipping lunch.
Wash down breaky with freshly squeezed orange juice or a fantastic barista brewed coffee.
Hugo's brew and chew was so good, I ended up revisiting everyday for breakfast before commencing work.
The staff were extremely friendly and treated everyone politely even during the lunch time rush.
If you're in the area, this is a must stop shop for a coffee and a feed.

Hubby had the BIG Chew. It was huge, I had the Smashed Avo on Bruschetta .
We both really enjoyed our meals and the coffee was fantastic!
The young girl who served us was LOVELY. She always had a smile on her face and was very helpful. She recommended my meal, and it was spot on!
The atmosphere in the cafe was awesome! All the girls working here looked like they liked their job and wanted to be there!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Brilliant coffee shop! Best cooked breakfast we've had in a month of travelling around Tassie! Delicious! Gets very busy even on weekdays. Lots of spots to sit. Staff were fantastic. Toilets were clean and tidy! Highly recommend.

Quirky eclectic furniture made for a very relaxed atmosphere. Very, very good coffee and a huge selection of bakery items to indulge. Good service as well.

What a lovely cafe. Great atmosphere, love the wood and colours and lighting. Blokes can’t go past the big chew for breakfast, tasty and good sized. Quick efficient service.

Great place with a variety of food and drinks. Love our little tucked away nook. Good serving sizes, very pleasant down to earth staff

Gluten and vegan friendly. Came here two days in a row for breakfast. Simply top notch both days. Had granola with coconut yoghurt day 1 and eggs bacon tomato day two. Gluten free toast no butter no problem.

Only stopped for a quick brunch, but great first impressions. This place has a big menu. Food is tasty and LARGE serves. Staff are friendly and attentive.

I loved everything about this place and wished we had stayed longer, or not over the easter long weekend so we could have tried lunch and dinner.
The coffee was amazing, Portuguese tarts and cronuts were also fresh and delicious. Reasonably priced, great service, awesome vibe. Love it!

We are visiting Smithton from California and per the reviews had to stop by and try Hugo’s out. WOW!!! The reviews didn’t lie! We ate the special of the day Crispy Pork in Plum Sauce and the avocado toast with feta. Both were delicious. We are so glad we are staying in the area for the next 5 days so we can try other things on the menu. Our server Beechy made us feel at home.

We lunched at hugos today and found it a very warm atmosphere, we were greeted at the door and the staff even helped my grandfather who was in a wheelchair, not completely ignore him like other places. Overall a lovely place, welcoming and with great food.

Well done crew, extremely busy, very prompt service great good and coffee.
It was absolutely chockers and we expected to wait for ages but it was still very quick.

Truly a hidden gem, and a wonderful surprise in a small town.

I had the brisket burger, and my wife has the halloumi eggs benedict. Portions were generous, and the food was delicious. We also had a slice of cheesecake to go, which was also excellent.

What a great cafe in the heart of Smithton.
Huge servings of food delivered by friendly and attentive staff.
The beer is icy cold and the coffee is a smooth as one expects good coffee to be.
I would say it is reasonably priced given the portions sizes.
This cafe has a lively atmosphere and is clean and well presented!

Wonderful place for a big or small lunch .Great food and absolutely wonderful service .we've been travelling tassie for 4 weeks now. And you won't get much better than this place Well done .

Best coffee in town! A large relaxed atmosphere, with a great selection of baked goods and other delicious brekky/lunch delights. Super friendly and smiling staff too.
