Mackereth Cottage

Beautiful National Park all around. It is an unsealed road. Very close to Adelaide. So peaceful and quiet with just the birds singing. Lovely old stone cottage & bakehouse. Pity it has been spoiled by graffiti. I don't know why the Onkaparinga council doesn't clean it.

Lovely to experience this treasure. To immerse into a bygone time.

historic early pioneer cottage

Lovely old cottage with sign describing history. Its a shame when these old buildings get covered in graffiti but it's still quite impressive and lovely to see.
There is fencing around and a warning sign stating that the walls are unstable so if you do decide to get adventurous, be careful and only leave footprints.

Good ruin spoiled by graffiti.I dont know why people need to spraypaint everything .

The cottage was in use until 1984 and the stone walls still show no cracks. It is a shame that it was left to ruin.

Information displayed onsite shows interesting settling story and subsequent history. The ruins are quite ravaged by time of course and there is graffiti. Some of the plants seem to have survived as well. Grounds not terribly well kept.
