Superb from start to finish - great vibes, perfect for a date or dinner with friends, service was excellent (had the lady with dark/black hair).

Some of the dishes did come too burnt (e.g. had to peel off the blackened fish skin), pork neck skewer we had to deal with, but was tasty nonetheless.
For desserts we preferred the soft chocolate, the honey cream/yoghurt was overpowered by too much rosemary.

Service was a stand out here.

Terrific dining experience at Poodle Bar & Bistro. Wonderful atmosphere and vibe at this Gertrude Street venue. Excellent staff, super knowledgeable and attentive.

We opted for the Chef’s Selection on the menu - a share style option the features some of Poodle’s fav dishes. The food was very tasty and inventive. I enjoyed the majority of the dishes, all packed with great flavour. My only sour note was the hanger steak. It was cooked fine, it’s just not a great cut from my perspective.

Second visit to Poodle was ever better than the first experience. This time the steak, the 500g offering on the menu was outstanding.

Can’t thank Poodle enough for having us for our wedding reception upstairs but here we are!

The food, drinks, staff and spaces were all absolutely amazing, we honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more. We’ve had nothing but compliments from all our guests.

I had my birthday Poodle, and received a the warmest phone call from Jody as to confirm my upcoming dinner. The team made sure to get the table I had requested, helped the florist I ordered to set the table up, and accommodated last minute changes as I added an extra seating for my daughter to attend. All the staff were professional, friendly, warm, and super helpful on the orders. The dishes came out on time and we had blew the candles for the cake. Just impeccable service and will keep coming back each year. Thank you Poodle for making this happen. I flew my parents from Korea to attend my birthday dinner and it meant a lot to all of us to create this priceless memory.

Been to poodle many times, and each time has been a delight. From food, to wine to service, to atmosphere and the venue is just amazing. Will be back again to try their new menu. Bravo.

Went for my boyfriends birthday and was so so impressed! Absolutely delicious food and cocktails, incredible service, all the staff were lovely and made the evening really special - shoutout to Lilian, Juan and Alex!

We showed up early for our booking and they weren’t ready yet so we had cocktails by the bar. Excellent drinks, we had a great time! We dined upstairs which was a lot quieter and more intimate. Service was perfect though it took a while before it the entire room filled up. Food was well presented and no long wait in between dishes. However not all dishes were up to our expectations but we will still like to give 5 stars. Fantastic spot for a nice date

Exceptional dining experience on atmospheric Gertrude St. We did the very reasonably priced feed me menu and the food was amazing. Highlights were the Ox Tongue and Hangar Steak. Very well looked after by our lovely waitress too.

We really enjoyed the warm and friendly service from start to end and the food was delicious.The only thing I would recommend is some acoustic sound absorbing foam panels under the chairs and tables as it was quite loud when the bistro is full.Nonetheless, the atmospher has a lovely cosy feel and we will be back.

This was the best food I’ve had in a very long time! We got the scallops, oysters, peppers, veal pastrami, duck heart skewers, zucchini, fries and the steak special. The oyster, duck heart and steak were the best, but everything was great!
The atmosphere is great - dark and comfortable. Would be a perfect date spot. The wine was nice and the espresso martini was amazing. The service was very friendly. I’ll definitely go back!

My friend and I went for a late lunch and some drinks. The food was delicious, the pork croquette was my favourite, followed by the crab profiterole. We had a mix of amazing cocktails and wines. The vibe and atmosphere in the bistro was lovely. I loved the decor and the furniture. We were sat by the window. However, one of the best things about Poodle is the staff. They were so lovely from the moment we walked in. They were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Outstanding service! Would definitely recommend and I look forward to going there again soon.

Delicious steak and fish. Sauces excellent. Due to dietries we were unable to try much more but what we did try was finessed and very enjoyable. Service was natural and efficient. Thank you.

Poodle was an amazing experience. Everything was smooth, responsive and thoughtfully taken care of by the events team and staff. It was such a pleasure to work with them and they helped make our day relaxed and a great party! Food and drinks were excellent and the atmosphere is impeccable.

The food, drinks and service is phenomenal here. The menu at the moment if you love seafood and want to have it in a unique way.

Came for lunch with my partner and had the set menu which was fantastic! The staff were attentive and made sure we had a great experience.

I can highly recommend the oysters, the lamb for the main dish and also their house specialty martini.

We will definitely be back with friends in the not too distant future!

Fantastic dining room with a great vibe and awesome service. I shared the 1kg ribeye and it was amazing! We also had the oysters which were a bit on the smaller side, and didn’t really enjoy the baked ones. Outside of that it was a great night and the bar was happy to accomodate off menu cocktails.

Came here based on recommendations and general aesthetic of photos I had seen, and was absolutely impressed by the steps of service as well the vibe, food, and wine. Everything we ordered was fantastic, with the only small gripe being our steak not quite being the temperature I would’ve expected it to be (i.e., should’ve been served a bit warmer) but I will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu. Banana millefeuille was a huge yes.

We couldn't have been happier with Poodle! We chose the upstairs area for our wedding reception dinner and it was phenomenal. The food, atmosphere, service and planning experience was more than we could've hoped for.

Fantastic place with great vibe, food, drinks and staff!

We had the broadsheet special access menu and it was delightful. The staff where energised and engaging and the food delicious. The matching drinks were brilliantly done.

The place did get a little noisy for my liking from time to time, but not completely overwhelming.

The steak and fried where amazing (best loaded fries ever!!) This is not your everyday fast food variety but a gourmet plate of amazing flavours.

The bom Alaska - served alight at the table as also a treat not to be missed.

All in all a great experience that I can highly recommend you try out!
