GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, LOVELY PEOPLE!
Being new to the St Leonards area and loving fish and chips, I thought it was time that I treated myself and my little Yorky Milo to some fish and chips (well I don’t eat chips but you know? Also Milo has grilled fish)
I ordered one battered & one grilled fish, five potato cakes from memory and four scallops and just as I was stepping out the door to drive the half km to pick them up, I received an important, return phone call from a govt dept that I’d been on hold earlier in the day for literally over three hours so I HAD to take it.
What I found remarkable for what’s considered a takeaway fast-food store was, the owner rang to see where I was as he was concerned about the quality of my food. (For any naysayers, I did offer payment at the time that I ordered the food and it wasn’t necessary so that wasn’t the reason)
He wanted to make sure that I received fresh, hot, well presented tasty food and was concerned as they were sitting under the Bain Marie which BTW, didn’t affect the quality of of the food in anyway it was absolutely delicious!

You could tell that the oil was fresh and not like some that keep using over and over again old oil. My potato cakes, one fish and 4 scallops were enveloped in a light, fluffy, crisp and fresh batter/oil and a grilled fish was just as well presented and delicious!

I just wanted to comment to those people complaining about the high prices especially for potatoes. Don’t you buy potatoes at the supermarket (if you can get them?) Are you aware that they’ve increased in price by over 300%? Anybody that even remotely understand how a business operates, if the cost of Items necessary to produce the goods they sell, then they have to pass that cost on to the customer as much as they’d hate to do it! HOW do you think they’re going to stay in business if they don’t? No, really if you had a problem with the cost of the food at the time of ordering, then rather than do a negative review? I’m speaking as a former manager for Westpac so I kind of do you know what I’m talking about but surely you can understand that if it cost more to make & sell goods & services, businesses have to make it up somewhere! It’s happening all over Australia not just St Leonards Fish and Chips shop!

The fish was plump and juicy, the scallops huge and delicious and the potato cakes were a great size.
My only wish was the head pumpkin or sweet potato cakes but that’s no big deal! The potato queso got were delicious!
Thank you so much and also a special thank you for being concerned about the quality of your food as I got delayed but it was all good and, it was ALL very, very good! 😋😊

We have been working in st Leonard's for a while now and gave these guys a try. 100% loved it burgers are freaking awesome staff are super friendly and prices are very affordable for the quality of the food and the service.
Recommend if your in the area to give them a try.

Stayed in St.Leonards for 6 nights. Had dinner from here twice. 5 of us happy with everything we ordered on both occasions. Average spend both visits was $107, so $21-ish a person and content with the serve size.

Chicken burger w the lot was great! Really big size and value for money. Will get again

Honestly haven’t had fish and chips like this all that was left from $100 was a couple of chips the service is amazing and the staff are great give it a try sure to pleass

I am a regular visitor of St Leonards and I always make a point to only have takeaway at St Leonards Fish and Chips. I believe they are the best fish and chips on the Balerine Peninsula.
You can always tell how fresh the fish and chips are. Yesterday I bought a piece of Whiting in which the size and freshness of the dish was second to none .
Never oily and the quality of the finished product is always amazing .
I highly recommend you visit this Fish & Chip Shop . You won’t be disappointed 😊

Gorgeous schnitzel burger and amazing service!

Definitely the best fish n chips on the Bellarine if not in Geelong.
Nothing was oily or greesie and everything was bursting with flavour and cooked perfectly. 10/10 will definitely be going back.

The best fish and chips we have had in a long time. The fish was so perfect! Everyone was so friendly and when we asked for thin batter, We Got It ! I cannot understand the poor reviews I read. Some people obviously don't know what good fish and chips is all about. Thank you for a delicious meal and your shop is SO clean.🌻

Potato Cakes are AMAZING, Light fluffy, good size and cooked perfectly. Dim Sims are always good, call ahead especially in summer season as can get really busy. Have never been disappointed

Fresh delicious food cooked on the spot, not just fish and chips but souvlakis, schnitty burgers, bacon and egg rolls, burgers, steak sangas. Open 7 days/nights 11 months of the year in a coastal regional, seasonal town this is a rareity!

We just had the most amazing service at The Golden Flake!! The owner with the gold necklace gave us a free pineapple fritter and was so lovely and really looked after us. The fish souvlaki was to die for! Really beautiful food, staff and service!

This shop has delicious fresh fish of various types, hamburgers that are big enough to share, crispy chips, fresh dim sims with soy sauce and have tried their souvlaki which I had to share being big. We support our local shop as the customer service is quite good, staff are very nice and friendly and even phone orders are ready when we get there.

Quality of the food was amazing. Had a Flake, chips and potato cake. Chips crispy, the order wasn't oily at all. An overall good experience. Highly recommended and will be back. Thanks guys!

Definitely the best fish and Chips I've had!
Fish was fresh and cooked perfectly, chips were outstanding. My wife had a burger and was very happy with it.
We always make sure to stop in every time we are on the Bellarine Peninsula.
